Situated just a short drive from the coastal town of Moraira, this modern villa is a great base for a family stay on the Costa Blanca. You’ll need a car to reach the beach and explore the local area, but you’ll also have fabulous sea views to take advantage of back home. Our eye was immediately drawn to the outdoor areas – hello, private pool – and the villa's stylish and light-filled interiors are the icing on the cake. There are some steep stairs to climb inside, though – it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

Set far enough back from Arenal beachfront to avoid the hustle and bustle, yet with the sandy shores a mere five-minute walk away, this apartment treats you to the best of both worlds. While the view from the private balcony is out onto the road and apartments opposite, you can still enjoy a peek of the sea. It’s also a nice spot for an evening glass of sangria. And if you need to cool off but don’t fancy the beach, the communal pool is just the ticket for a refreshing dip.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

Enjoy lunch alfresco under the pergola of the terracotta terrace before spending the afternoon on the white sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol, less than ten-minutes drive away. When you’re suitably rejuvenated from your dose of vitamin D and the sound of the gently lapping waves, head back to your secluded home for a barbecue before enjoying an evening in front of the crackling fire in the spacious living room, complete with the Spanish arches. If you’re looking for an authentic coastal town, this home’s location is bound to impress. Situated in Jávea, you’ll be just five kilometres from sandy beaches and the Medieval streets of the old town. Situated high up in the hills, you’ll have plenty of peace, privacy and incredible views over the mountains and valley, but bear in mind that a car is necessary to reach the villa. If you’d rather not venture out, three levels offer plenty of space to relax, plus a garden containing a private pool and Jacuzzi for those alfresco evenings.

Located just a short walk from the sandy beaches of Calpe and the coastal peak of Penyal d'Ifac Natural Park, this modern villa with views of the mountains provides a seamless mix of indoor and outdoor living. Located a short drive from Alicante’s Calpe coastline and its famous beaches, this villa puts you in a prime spot. Though the style is on the simpler side, it has everything a family or small group needs for a memorable Mediterranean retreat. The bedrooms are comfortable, while en-suites make getting up for a day by the pool all the more effortless.There’s a built-in barbecue for whiping up some Spanish-inspired meals, but with so many waterfront restaurants serving up tapas nearby, you’d be forgiven for taking time off from cooking.

Surrounded by castles and monuments, and with the beach only minutes away, this Benissa villa gives you access to some of the best bits of the Costa Blanca. The beach is minutes away, historical monuments are scattered around, and there's even an option for snorkelling and windsurfing. From the poolside terrace, you can look out across the water as the ocean lies on the horizon – better even to get up higher for a better vantage point. Though the style might not suit everyone, this home is comfortable and well-positioned.
