Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. Wake up each morning to Costa Blanca sunshine in this contemporary pad. With windows overlooking Javea and the surrounding mountains, the views will be front and centre as soon as you open your eyes. Start the day with breakfast, which is best served alfresco alongside a steaming mug of Café con Leche on one of the upstairs terraces. 

Later on, after a quick dip in the communal pool, relish in the fresh air on the downstairs balcony – we think it's the perfect spot to enjoy a chilled drink and tapas at twilight. Head inside for a Spanish feast prepared by the chef of the group using ingredients from the seafood market down by the wharf – perhaps paella will be on the cards.

Speaking of location, this apartment is halfway between Platja Primer Muntanyar's rocky shore and the livelier Platja de l'Arenal. Both are home to waterfront eateries, but Arenal's soft sand and array of restaurants and bars is sure to be a hit. Whether you fancy stargazing, sunbathing or snorkelling in the hidden coves up down the coast, this central locale has fun in the sun written all over it.

And you’ll all appreciate those shady terraces with views of the surrounding Montgo Mountain when it’s time to beat the heat. And there’s no need to tussle for the best room here – each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and direct access to those stylish verandas outside.

This simple, fuss-free apartment is an ideal retreat for a coastal family getaway. It may not be the biggest, but it’s well-equipped and comfortable, with the sun-drenched balcony an added bonus. For some respite from the Costa Blanca sun, the communal swimming pool is a welcome sight, framed by towering palm trees. If you prefer not to drive, a car’s not essential here. A short walk from the apartment and you’ll find a selection of shops and restaurants, or for a stroll on sandy shores, Platja de l'Arenal beach is just 800 metres away.

With its secluded setting and old-style finca ambiance, this home is a beguiling getaway on the outskirts of Jávea. The luxurious country house features nature-blending interiors, with each room taking inspiration from its surroundings. Textiles in terracotta, rust and burnt orange complement original stone and wood features, while blue-green accents of the bed frame, shower curtain and sofa, tie in with the verdant gardens and turquoise pool. We were particularly taken by the Majolica pottery that lines the kitchen walls. Outside, there are umpteen options for alfresco dining, all boasting knockout views of the undulating landscape. Spend your time relaxing on the shaded daybed, watching the sun set among the lemon trees or enjoying a private moment on your bedroom’s patio.  If you fancy it, Arenal beach is less than a fifteen-minute drive away. But it won’t be long until you're back home on the terrace living the good life –  barbecue lit, glass of Priorat red in hand, watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

Movin' On Up

Situated a short walk from Primer Muntanyar Beach, this inviting apartment is perfect for short breaks or longer stays on the Northern Costa Blanca. Inside, it’s bright, breezy and homespun – we particularly loved the playful mismatched furnishings in the living space. Begin your mornings with breakfast in the sunroom before finding a quiet spot in the gardens to relax with a good book. Cool off with a leisurely swim in the communal pool or drive over to Platja de l'Arenal and bob about in the calm Mediterranean Sea. 

When lunchtime rolls around, try out one of Jávea’s waterfront restaurants then stroll around the old town’s narrow streets with an ice cream in hand. Return home in the early evening for a glass or two of your favourite tipple as the sky turns apricot.

This apartment is nestled on the coast of the historic Javea, a short walk from the sea. The central location means parking will be tricky, but you'll be close to public transport. You'll want to pack light here – the home is small, but has everything needed for a fuss-free stay. We especially like the private balcony, which offers natural light and enough space to sit out with a drink. If you want a base for exploring the town and coastline, you can't get much closer to the action.

This deluxe recently built villa is perched above the buzzing coastal town of Javea on Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca. It’s a twelve-minute walk to the beach and the views from the terrace are simply sublime. The town stretches before you and you can watch the lights twinkle to life in the evening from the cool of the saltwater pool, or with a game of ping pong on the go. It’s a villa for those that appreciate the finer touches of service and design – inclusive of daily maid service, handmade ceramics, vibrant wall art and furniture selected by hand.

We love the private balcony here. Suitably fuelled, make your way to the aqua waters of the pool for an invigorating dunk ahead of your daily seafront stroll.

The open–plan kitchen/living room is kitted out with a rattan dining table that’s perfect for all your Spanish feasts, meanwhile the sleek, walk–in shower welcomes you to freshen up in style at your leisure.

With the local supermarket just a short amble away, you’re in a handy spot for grocery top–ups, and thanks to the selection of bars, restaurants and cafes all a leisurely stroll from the apartment, dining out is easy, too. For those that love watersports, the local surfing and sailing schools are well worth checking out and if you’ve got a craving for a soothing beachfront bimble, the sandy shores of El Arenal won’t disappoint.

Though there's a private balcony at home ideal for alfresco breakfasts and sunset-watching with your loved ones, the shared pool is ideal for lazy days. Whatever your tastes, it isn't difficult to find fun on the Costa Blanca, and historic Jávea invites you to partake in scenic hikes, golfing trips, and watersport activities nearby.

The Catalan Gaze

Just a short stroll from Playa de la Grava, you can paddle in the sea in no time when you stay in this first-floor apartment. Comfortable for six people, it boasts sun-kissed balconies to make the most of the Mediterranean climate, albeit a little overlooked by neighbouring homes. That said, the added bonus of staying at this resort is the communal swimming pools – including one for children. So, when the heat of the day gets too much, cool off in the water before retiring to your private outdoor space for sangria as the sun sets. 

Golden Hues Hideaway

With the beach just 3 kilometres away and the centre of Jávea even closer, this home has Costa Blanca living written all over it. A car is necessary here, but you won't have to travel far to find restaurants, waterfront cafes and beaches. You can also relax in the sunny garden and float around in the private pool if you'd prefer to take it easy. Mountain views make the terrace a stand-out spot for evening drinks – you can just glimpse the sea, too. It's a tad traditional inside, but if you like rustic touches (think wooden beams and arched doorways), you'll be more than happy to call this place home.

The Melody of the Sea

This well-located villa in Javea is a great option for a self-catered holiday in Costa Blanca. The interiors aren't luxurious but you'll have all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and the valley views go some way towards making up for the dated decor. There's a decent-sized fully-equipped kitchen here and enough seating in the living area for all guests to relax in at full occupancy. We love the outdoor space – the well-tended gardens include a private swimming pool and plenty of areas for alfresco dining. La Grava beach is just 1km away from this home – while it can be reached on foot, we suggest hiring a car for ease.

A Positive Spirit

Set far enough back from Arenal beachfront to avoid the hustle and bustle, yet with the sandy shores a mere five-minute walk away, this apartment treats you to the best of both worlds. While the view from the private balcony is out onto the road and apartments opposite, you can still enjoy a peek of the sea. It’s also a nice spot for an evening glass of sangria. And if you need to cool off but don’t fancy the beach, the communal pool is just the ticket for a refreshing dip. 

Contemporary Cove

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

This charming, characterful and quintessentially Spanish home boasts a private garden and alfresco dining area as well as plenty of indoor-outdoor seating and a balcony from which to admire the stunning, surrounding countryside. Featuring a fully equipped kitchen and an open plan dining cum living room – think whitewashed walls adorned with paintings and decorative plates, wooden doors, window frames, shutters and beautiful beamed ceilings – this captivating casa is simply sensational. 

You’ll love this artfully decorated home for its inimitable interiors as well as its carefully curated indoor-outdoor and open-air spaces. Take your morning cup of coffee out on the balcony, whip up family-sized feasts in the kitchen and dine alfresco on the patio. Laze on loungers in the sun or shade, whatever floats your boat, before a sneaky sundowner back up on the balcony and a sofa session in front of the wood burning stove. 

Alternatively, spend the day at one of the best swimming pool complexes in Jávea complete with waterslides and kid friendly pools as well as seasonal café and games room. Play at paddle tennis or, if you’re more in the mood for a leisurely stroll, you’ll be able to reach the rocky coves of Cala Blanca and the Montañar II seafront in five minutes. Sandy Arenal beach is also no more than ten minutes away, what could be more blissful?

It is based in the beautiful region of Javea in Alicante, just a short drive from the stunning Parc Natural del Montgó, ideal for those looking to explore some Spanish nature. Inside, the home is charming and characterful, with a mix of traditional touches and modern flair – the outside is where this home truly shines, however. Here, you'll find a stunning private pool, as well as a hot tub for resting weary muscles after long hikes in the hills. There's also an outdoor kitchen and dining area for alfresco feasting, and terraces where you can sit and enjoy the views of the mountains.

Rarely veering from a black-and-white colour scheme, the interior of this apartment is solid, if a little unremarkable, when taken on its own merits. Thankfully, there are lots of outdoor amenities that bump it up the pecking order. Not only is there a covered balcony with a view of the surrounding valley, but there's also a private rooftop terrace on which to soak up some rays. Add to that a communal swimming pool back down at ground level, plus Arenal Beach only two hundred metres from the front door, and it's never been easier to bask in the Mediterranean's glorious climate.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

The Spanish Riviera

Located in a popular destination in the eastern part of Spain, this home is the perfect base for a beach holiday. The sand and sea are a five-minute drive away, or if you want to make sure you hit your 10,000 steps a day, it’s a half hour walk. In classic resort town style, you’ll find a disco, local eateries, and places to practice your salsa moves nearby. If you want to hole up and not leave the apartment, you'll find plenty to keep you entertained. From the flat-screen TV to the large garden and your very own private pool, there is every chance you'll stay put. After practicing your strokes in the pool, fire-up the barbecue for lunch on the shaded terrace. Feeling tired? The locals strongly believe in a siesta, and we can't agree with the concept more.
