This quirky apartment in the Eixample district of Barcelona scored plenty of ticks from us. The interior design combines classy hotel-standard touches, such as shiny wooden flooring and the gleamingly white kitchen and bathrooms, with some eclectic flourishes that add a whole lot of character — the list of French authors in cursive script on the living room wall and the inset golden display frames holding potted flowers come to mind.

This rustic and cosy Spanish apartment, within walking distance of the stretching sands of Barceloneta Beach, is a sun lover's dream. The drop-your-bags-and-go coastal location is the main draw here, but we also love the suntrap rooftop terrace, where alfresco meals and sunset drinks will go down a treat.

This modern, crowd-pleasing home is a picture of industrial chic nestled in-between the beach and Barcelona's historic Old Town. Stepping in to look around at the decor, you'll notice low-hanging lampshades, vibrant chairs and a quirky pallet coffee table that we really loved.
