With walking and cycling pathways leading straight from your door, you can dive right in to it all. Or jump in the car for a city fix in Barcelona or beach day at Sitges  – both are just an hour's drive away.

Though you may find all you need back at home in this former farmhouse, expertly restored by its owners to create seven luxurious apartments. Discover a shared poolside and bubbly Jacuzzi within its beautifully landscaped terraces  – the perfect spot for soaking up the surrounding woodlands, castle views and Catalonia sunshine.
 
And luckily for you, you'll have the same vistas upstairs inside this stylish apartment, perched in the rafters of the residence's attic. Sunny mornings call for lingering coffees on the balcony before a lazy breakfast in the light-filled living area – there's everything you need to rustle up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen. And you can always sneak back to the king-sized bed with a second coffee – those views will be right there still through the charming Juliet balcony doors.

Modern and bright, this Sant Antoni apartment offers a comfortable base for those looking to stay in Central Madrid. You'll be a short walk from the city’s galleries, concept stores, markets and bars, while Gaudi’s landmarks are a short metro ride away. This home couldn't be better located for exploring Spain's Costa Daurada. Spend an afternoon sprawled out on the golden sands of El Canyadell and Torredembarra beaches, both just a short stroll away from this home. Or explore Spain's second-most important Roman site with its museum and coastal amphitheatre in Tarragona, a twenty-minute drive away. You'll find this home nestled perfectly, just a seven-minute stroll from the neighbourhood's beautiful thirteenth-century open-air market. Swing by to taste-test its delectable array of food stalls, find hidden vintage gems or, on Sundays, leaf through second-hand books and magazines.

With its stylish design and dynamic oil paintings, imported all the way from South Africa, this home impresses with its eclectic and considered aesthetic. We especially love the light-filled and open-plan living space, creating an inviting atmosphere where you'll love spending time after a day of gallery hopping. After a restful slumber, spend mornings roosted at the dining table for breakfast, prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen, to fuel up for another day of sightseeing. 

Here, you're a fifteen-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya and La Rambla, while the closest metro station is three minutes away on foot. After exploring Barcelona’s famous Mercado de la Boqueria you’ll be in need of nourishment - our pick is Els Sortidors del Parlament, a quick ten minutes from the market, a contemporary bodega offering wine from the barrel and small Catalan tapas plates - their gourmet shop is the perfect gift spot. From there, you’re right in the thick of Sant Antoni where you’ll find the city’s wrought-iron architectural highlights and experience the true vibrancy of the neighbourhood.

The Singing Butler

Situated a stone's throw from Passeig de Gràcia, this home is at the heart of the action. You'll find it on Gran de Gracia, nestled between Gracia and Eixample. Here, you're surrounded by an array of upmarket boutiques, bars and eateries, while Gaudi's masterpieces, Casa Milà and La Pedrera, are a ten-minute stroll away. Though being a six-minute walk from two metro stops, the city really is yours for the taking.

We love this home's elegant design aesthetic. Inside, it's a timeless canvas of high ceilings and wooden floors adorned with regal touches, from the stained glass windows to the glistening glass chandelier. The open-plan living area offers the perfect place for relaxation, including a cosy l-shaped sofa and a sweet balcony with picturesque views. After a restful slumber in the lavish bedrooms, start your days roosted here, sipping your morning coffee and soaking up the sun. After busy days exploring the city, gather around the dining table for a delicious feast prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen before slipping out for a walk at sunset.

The Golden Globes

Amidst the dramatic backdrop of the sand-hued ancient castles and rolling hills of Plans de Sió sits this restored 16th-century farmhouse. Once a vineyard, the garden is now home to a stunning octagonal swimming pool, reminiscent of a Moorish plunge pool, a ping pong table, outdoor dining with a barbecue, and a wrap-around terrace overlooking the endless fields and forests. The view here is particularly breathtaking at sunset. Inside, the ancient stone walls are adorned with unique pieces by local artists and shelves show off trinkets from around the globe. The kitchen retains its old farmhouse charm, but shining chrome appliances give away the 21st-century make-over. A collection of outbuildings are now home to covered outdoor dining with the rustic simplicity of a monk’s refectory, and an old storeroom has been converted into a plush home cinema with velvet seats and perfect acoustics. Bedrooms feel hotel-grade luxurious, but what we really love are the retained old flourishes of the former farmhouse – stone tables for grinding corn, stone barrel rooms now holding bedrooms and a master bedroom in the old kitchen, still with its striking ancient hearth. Breakfast is also included every day.  

Ridge & Furrow

A beautiful apartment in a building that just takes our breath away, this space is something very special indeed. Recently renovated to create a number of fully accessible holiday homes, and built with great eco-credentials, this fabulous Catalan country home dates back centuries and retains its period character. We're talking exposed stone walls, elaborate beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and plenty of arches, terraces and balconies. Looking out across lush countryside, it's a peaceful slice of rural Spanish life.

Inside, your home blends traditional character with stylish, modern design. There's a big, bright, open-plan living space with a practical kitchen, a dining table and a comfy sofa, which opens out to a private terrace with stunning views. You can eat out here at the table, or relax on your private sun loungers. But just step into the lift and you'll find the building's shared amenities are at your fingertips, with use of a huge hot tub, an outdoor pool and several communal spaces – including a barbecue area.

Built next to a Gothic church dating from the 15th century, your home is in the small village of Santa Candia, surrounded by forests. There are great hikes on your doorstep and ancient castles to visit, but Barcelona is just an hour's drive too.

The Drawing Rooms

Come evening, crank up the barbecue and put your mixology skills to the test at the sleek bar before finding a spot to settle down in, taking a moment to appreciate your blissful surrounds and the impending sunset.

Villa Prismatic

Stepping into this villa is like stepping into a designer’s book of inspiration as each room paints its own beautiful narrative. Taking on a warm rustic theme, the living room is adorned with antique-style chairs and a wooden vintage display cabinet creating a cosy, laid-back vibe.

In the kitchen, blue-tiled walls are the epitome of retro 70s chic. From here, you’ll be led out onto the terrace – a serene oasis with stately wicker armchairs overlooking palm trees and a lush garden from the arches of the shaded patio. 

Each bedroom has a huge built-in wardrobe so that you won’t be short of space for your summer clothes. From the villa, it’s only a ten-minute walk to the beach, and the holiday complex has everything you need for an easy holiday with a grocery shop, restaurant, gym, bicycle hire, and sauna and spa – all within easy reach. 

Worlds Within Worlds

As far as homes in La Dreta de l'Eixample go, Caletre is a solid representation of the neighbourhood's architecture. Adorned with Modernist masterpieces, this part of Barcelona boasts great architecture on every corner and even the insides of an unassuming building like this one show some masterful craft. True, the street you'll be staying on is a little bit noisy, but we think that easy access to the cultural heart of town more than makes up for it. 

Caletre

Even though Taffy Terrace has a slightly narrower living room area, it's still an elegant, comfortable home. The star of the show is definitely the terrace with a cosy sofa, which, thanks to the panoramic windows, acts as an extension of the communal areas. The master bedroom especially has spectacular natural light thanks to a whole wall being replaced by the same windows, giving it a beachside feel. You'll be staying in a near-perfect location – right in the middle of Passeig de Gràcia, but tucked away on a quiet side street.
