This home caught our eye for its sea views. Located just 150 metres from the water, you can enjoy the vistas from both inside and outside. You’re in a quiet spot here, and guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum. While it won’t suit those waiting to be at the centre of the action, we think it’s a great choice for a family or group seeking a peaceful getaway. When it comes to exploring, you’ll find a choice of rocky and sandy beaches within a few kilometres, and Formentera’s main town, Sant Francesc Xavier, is an eight-minute drive away.

It’s all blue skies, beaches and bougainvillaea on this little beauty of an island, and this sprawling home is the perfect place to experience it. Built in the 19th century, the house has been renovated and updated considerably since then and is now a chic holiday paradise. 

We love that it’s built around a Roman-style courtyard, so the whole house is kept cool. There are so many chill-out areas you may still be finding new places to relax on the day you leave. 

All the bedrooms come with a terrace, and the garden has plenty of shade thanks to mature olive trees and multiple covered terraces. And then there’s the pool – surrounded by sun loungers and elegantly lit come nightfall, its turquoise waters will be calling whatever the time of day.

Adjacent to the pool, you’ll find a sundeck that we think could easily double as a yoga terrace should the mood to asana strike you, and there are two outdoor dining areas to pick from come dinner time. 

Inside, the large, bright rooms are minimally decorated with interesting natural textiles and the occasional splash of colour. There’s a mezzanine in the living room – only accessible via a ladder – for when you need a quiet moment and a kitchen that’s been designed with family feasts and group gatherings in mind.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

Nestled in one of Ibiza's quieter pockets, this whitewashed villa is a masterclass in boho chic. This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

If you’re looking for an authentic coastal town, this home’s location is bound to impress. Situated in Jávea, you’ll be just five kilometres from sandy beaches and the Medieval streets of the old town. Situated high up in the hills, you’ll have plenty of peace, privacy and incredible views over the mountains and valley, but bear in mind that a car is necessary to reach the villa. If you’d rather not venture out, three levels offer plenty of space to relax, plus a garden containing a private pool and Jacuzzi for those alfresco evenings.

With its saltwater pool and compelling views across the Balearic Sea, this home is a showstopper. And inside is a vision all of its own. From the Gaggenau coffee machine and Liebherr wine cooler in the kitchen to the custom-made stone sinks of the bathrooms, every inch of this place embodies luxury. 

Steely greys and brilliant whites make for a slick, stylish pad. And it’s plenty comfy too – the large, squishy white sofa and dreamy super king-size beds are a treat to fall into, while the selection of objets d’art makes the space all the more intimate. When you’re not working up an appetite in the gym, you’ll be gently floating in the pool and choosing which beach to frequent from your enviable hillside vantage point. 

Reconvene on the upper terrace for sumptuous Spanish seafood dinners, expertly paired with glasses of fruity reds. When the sun sets, settle down among the wisteria and bougainvillea in the palm-fringed gardens – the poolside terrace is the perfect place to socialise under inky Ibizan skies.

There's movie-quality magic to this secluded hacienda in Ibiza, from the interiors worthy of a magazine to enough entertainment to keep all members of your party engaged. We noticed the architecture first, with native Sabina wood ceilings and arched white walls sheltering eclectic pieces like a cowhide chair and Native American headdresses. For the performers in your group, there's a grand piano in the living area – or plug a phone into the sound system to play more professional beats. Bedrooms each deliver a sense of serenity, courtesy of pastel colour schemes and reclaimed wooden furniture.  But you won't want to hang out alone for too long – the infinity pool is surrounded by daybeds, while the built-in stone barbecue has carved-stone seats for everyone to keep an eye on the action. To amp up the energy, there are pétanque courts, table tennis and foosball tables and a basketball hoop. Glimpses of the sea are visible from the roof terrace, or you can jump on one of the home's bikes for a trip to the shore before heading back for sundowners on the wraparound terrace.

Factor in the alfresco dining space, perfect for sundowners, and we think it makes a great base for an island getaway.

This home has to be seen to be believed. From the magnificent pool area – which boasts a bridge, fountains and a hot tub – to the breath-taking views, this villa is a marvel. 

The outside space is glorious. Sweeping views out to the sea dominate the skyline and an incredibly inviting pool sparkles in the sunlight. The footbridge that crosses over the pool is a lovely feature. Bali-style daybeds take your sunbathing to the next level of comfort, with a canopy to shield you from the hottest Ibizan sun. For even more relaxation, make use of the poolside hot tub. As the afternoon drifts into the evening, why not open a bottle of Champagne and settle into the bubbles as you watch the sun set and the stars start to emerge?

Inside is just as special. An atrium at the heart of the home – with its own pond and trees – opens up the space and lets light stream in from the stained glass-domed ceiling. The villa is spread over three floors, with plenty of space for twelve guests. The Jacuzzi bath in the master suite adds an extra hint of luxury. Palatial-sized dining tables indoor and out make meals an absolute delight – you might even plump for a private chef to make the most of the space. 

It’s easy to spend all your time in the villa, but there’s plenty to do nearby if you do fancy exploring further afield. Ibiza Town is just a seven-minute drive away, and the gorgeous white sand and clear water of Platja d’en Bossa can be reached in nine minutes.
