This quirky apartment in the Eixample district of Barcelona scored plenty of ticks from us. The interior design combines classy hotel-standard touches, such as shiny wooden flooring and the gleamingly white kitchen and bathrooms, with some eclectic flourishes that add a whole lot of character — the list of French authors in cursive script on the living room wall and the inset golden display frames holding potted flowers come to mind.

Fabulously located in the heart of Eixample, within easy walking distance of many of Barcelona's key sights, with a beautiful living space full of lovely period details and a spacious master-bedroom with its own private terrace, this home is a delight. Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home.

Enviably located in the heart of Barcelona, footsteps from the Plaça de Catalunya and a bus ride from Barceloneta Beach, this apartment is an excellent choice for all travelling types. If you wish to stay as a group of ten, it’s worth noting there’s not enough comfortable seating, and it’s a bit of a squeeze around the dining table for that many people.
