We love this home in Barcelona – it boasts some of the best views over Gaudi's iconic Casa Milà and L'Eixample. The second bedroom is on the cosier side, so it's a better fit for children.

Just a few steps away from the Sagrada Familia, you'll find this chic apartment. Not only does it have a perfect location in the heart of Barcelona, but it's also stylish and convenient – city slickers will fall in love at first sight. 

Open the front door, and you'll find a gorgeous living area cloaked in greens and creams, with plenty of natural textures to bring warmth to the space. Pour a glass of Rioja and flop down on the comfy sofa, or head outside onto the balcony to enjoy your tipple in the fresh air. This south-facing rooftop apartment is a real suntrap. Not only is the kitchen illuminated throughout the day, but all the bedrooms are blessed with large external windows too. And if there's one thing you can never have too much of in a home, it's light. We're in love with the kitchen and terrace, with views across the city and plenty of outdoor seating for everyone to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine. There's also a barbecue out here for alfresco summer evenings grilling dinner as the neighbourhood's residents return from work and things spring to life. While it might not be the most centrally located, the upmarket residential neighbourhood of Sarría offers a peaceful break from the bedlam of central Barcelona. Packed with posh homes, shops and restaurants, it was an independent town until 1921, when the city engulfed it. However, it still retains something of that small town Catalan charm without having to leave the city. If you're searching for an authentic Barcelona experience, then look no further.

Home to Gaudí's architectural gems, haute couture shops, and Michelin star restaurants, they call this neck of the woods Quadrat d'Or (Golden Square) for a good reason.

Back at home, the pristine, uncluttered interiors will appeal to all you minimalists out there. Flooded with natural daylight thanks to those floor-to-ceiling Juliet balcony windows, it feels like a breath of fresh air to return to after a day soaking up all that Gaudi extravagance in the streets below.

If we were being picky, though the kitchen is well-equipped, it could do with an interior refresh. It's also worth noting the second bedroom is pocket-sized with limited floor space. But we'll let that slide for a home with such impressive outdoor space.

Just looking at it, you wouldn’t expect Pulpo Gallego to be on the ground floor. It has most of the trappings of a loft, and wouldn’t feel too out of place in Williamsburg or Greenpoint. Maite’s done a lovely job setting it up. It’s been renovated in the past year or so, and even though it has a small and unusually shaped footprint, it easily feels large enough. You also have the benefit of being in Eixample, so getting around the city, either on foot or by public transport, is very simple.


Pulpo Gallego

If you're planning a fantastic trip to the vibrant city of Barcelona, you can't go wrong with this lavish apartment. Located in the Eixample district, one of the city's best-loved areas, it's the perfect place to kick back and relax between your sightseeing trips. 

The apartment is super spacious, with room for up to eight guests to settle in and get comfortable. You'll love the traditional touches throughout the home, from the wooden ceiling beams and the patterned tiles to the huge windows with sage green shutters. Eixample is known for its grand boulevards and elegant architecture which houses a range of independent restaurants and boutiques. And, if you want to explore other parts of the city, you can take the metro from Verdaguer Station – it's just a five-minute stroll away.

White Orchids

This apartment in the heart of Eixample has a couple of eclectic flourishes up its sleeve. The bold red finishes in the kitchen are unexpected, as is the patterned tiling that runs across the floors in the living area and bedrooms. By comparison, the furnishings are a little more pared-back, with a discernible mid-century influence in the seating.

You're so close that you can spot the fantastical architecture from the balcony – there may be nowhere to sit, but you can't beat the views. Factor in the central location – this pad is within walking distance of many landmarks, shops, and restaurants – and you can see why it caught our eye.

Gaudi's La Sagrada Família is no more than a twenty-minute walk away and you’re practically neighbours with Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. Saunter into the Gothic Quarter for charming medieval streets and authentic tapas bars or jump on the bus and make haste to the coast – Barceloneta Beach is only twenty minutes away.
