You’ll find this cosy abode in La Salut, part of Barcelona’s Gracia district. It’s an ideal base for a family or two couples, and the views across the city, stretching as far as the sea, are sure to be a hit with all. A short stroll from the apartment, you’ll find both Park Güell and Parc del Guinardó – so lush greenery and panoramic views are never far away. And, as an area that’s well-connected by public transport, when you’re ready to venture further afield, the metro is ready and waiting to whisk you away. 

Gothic Splendour

This minimally furnished home is perfect for those who like their space. Dancing Shoes is impeccable, sleek, and boasts enviable great urban views over Eixample – seeing the postcards sights of Barcelona will be effortless from your base on Avinguda Diagonal. Although this home doesn't have a lot of characterful furniture, we still liked the high ceilings and the abundance of natural light.

 Full of warm desert tones and an abundance of light, this stylish apartment in Barcelona’s elegant Gràcia neighbourhood puts you in an ideal position to experience the city’s vibrant art and history. 
 
We love the natural textures used in the home’s decor – from the wood floors to the woven rugs and the iron ornaments – not to mention the cacti and atmospheric art prints decking the walls. Kick back on the soft sofa with a glass of Spanish wine or open up the French doors to people-watch from the living area’s Juliet balconies. 
 
The bedroom is just as chic with its cut-out wall behind the bed and handy desk space, while the swoon-worthy bathroom is ready to get any day off to a relaxing start with its luxurious rainfall shower. 
 
What’s more, you’ve got access to the building’s communal roof terrace and pool – the ideal spot to while away sunny hours when you’re not out exploring the city’s sights. 
 
Speaking of sightseeing, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, not least of all Barcelona’s emblematic Sagrada Familia, an eighteen-minute walk away. Elsewhere, Gaudí’s Casa Milà is a twelve-minute walk, Casa Batlló is a twenty-minute stroll and Park Güell is twenty-two minutes away on foot. 

Desert Solace

When home is only a three-minute walk from Casa Milà, you can be quite sure that you’re living in the heart of Barcelona’s buzzing Eixample district. But how about if you can see directly across to its ornate rooftops from your own private terrace? The exclusive location of this apartment is only made better by its magnificent design and decor. Upon arrival at the majestic wooden door, you can tell that this historical building is full of charm. With a vintage wooden lift taking you up to the attic – better known as a penthouse in the 21st century – we love its old-fashioned character. Inside, the wooden theme continues with a striking piece of art in the lounge, but this time surrounded by modern interiors. The furnishings are minimalist, with neutral tones and white walls bringing a fresh vibe. However, this is all to make way for the apartment’s most exciting features – two terracotta terraces for alfresco drinking, dining, and admiring jaw-dropping views. If you do manage to make it back down to street level, Diagonal metro is a two-minute walk. But when you can see Gaudí’s masterpieces from home, you might want to stay put.

The Mahogany Azulejo

With floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of Barcelona's most rebellious architecture, the best thing this home offers is sightseeing from the comfort of your sofa. Both the furniture and art are a pleasant unobtrusive mix of the old and new, showing that the host knows how to fill a space with meaningful pieces without making it look cluttered. But we have to admit – although it's well-designed, the layout of this home is a bit peculiar, with the kitchen fashioned inside a corridor and a tempered glass bathroom separating the second and third bedroom. 

The Rosewood Azulejo

In the elegant Vila de Gràcia barrio, you’re in for a treat if you’re looking for a more realistic experience of Barcelona living. Just over 3 km away from the bustling tourists in the Gothic Quarter, this region is full of restaurants, theatres, cinemas, independent boutiques, and of course some Gaudí charm. This apartment is just a four-minute walk from Casa Vicens, a striking example of one of the architect’s earlier works. But unlike this building and its surroundings, this home feels more like a Japanese mountain retreat. Step inside to wood-panelled walls and fabrics, woven feature pieces, and a mural of swallows and bamboo bringing a zen-like state to the apartment. While there’s still a taste of traditional Catalan elements, such as patterned tiles on the floor, and a classic wrought-iron balconette, the decor simply oozes Japan. In the serene bedroom, keep your head down at the workspace, then step into the lounge when the clock hits 5 pm to turn up the record player and sip chilled cava. For a weekend escape from this peaceful palace, it’s just an eighteen-minute walk to the colourful, awe-inspiring mosaics of Park Güell – quite the contrast.

Norimaki

Moorish design meets boho modernity in this stylish Barcelona pad. Burnt orange and terracotta tones whisper of riads and souks, while raw wood accents add shades of the Sahara. We love the hipster-chic touches of a cedar wood record player in the kitchen and upcycled end tables. The second bedroom, with its hand-crafted desk, doubles as a private office. The highlight of this home has to be the terrace; a secluded stone nook with views over the rooftops to the spires of the Sagrada Familia. Moroccan lamps glowing at twilight set the mood, and pot plants add a riad courtyard kind of vibe. It’s a fitting apartment for a stay in Gracia – Barcelona’s achingly cool neighbourhood where indie boutiques, galleries, Catalan bistros and wine bars line the 19th-century streets.
