900 metres from the striking Faro de Trafalgar lighthouse, this villa sits on the coast of Spain where long stretches of sandy beach meet the Atlantic Ocean. The closest town is Los Caños de Meca where restaurants look out over the beach, and it’s just a fifteen-minute walk to the centre. Beaches here are made for windsurfing, and it’s a blissfully quiet spot on the Spanish coast.

Sleek modernity is the theme at the villa, surrounded by a perfectly manicured lawn. Glass walls let the sunshine stream in, especially in the stylish living area which can open up to the terrace outside. We love the architectural details like the internal glass courtyard displaying pot plants like works of art. There’s something zen-like about the buddhas, botanica and candle lanterns throughout too. 

Outside, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained in and out of the sun. Dining for the whole group is on a covered patio, plush sofas sit on the veranda and there’s a big lawn for the kids to run around with football goals and a basketball court. And when the heat gets too much, you can slip into the pristine swimming pool to cool off.

This recently refurbished Andalucian villa has all the ingredients you could want for a relaxing break in the Spanish sunshine. We can't really start with anything other than the swimming pool that takes up most of the garden, which is overlooked by palm trees and surrounded by loungers.

Around the home itself, you'll find a terrace that stretches around the property with a lounge, alfresco dining area and a pretty impressive outdoor kitchen set-up. It's fair to say that you could spend the bulk of your time outside, but that would be being the modern interior a disservice. There are plenty of standout features behind the front door, from the sleek wooden kitchen and spa-standard bathrooms to the crocodile-shaped bench in one of the bedrooms.

And the location's not half bad, either. You can be standing on the golden sands of Playa del Saladillo in around twenty minutes on foot or strolling around the designer boutiques of Puerto Banús in just under the same amount of time in the car.

Located at the exclusive Monte Mayor Country Club, the home faces southwest so you can enjoy the sunshine all day long. And there’s no need to fight for the best bedroom here – they’re all en-suite with views of the Mediterranean. Add to that an infinity pool, a choice of terraces, and a sociable living space, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a holiday to remember. Location-wise, there’s a golf course next door and a choice of beaches and restaurants within a twenty-five-minute drive.

In this rural haven, there is plenty of room to bask in the sun. The two single beds in one of the bedrooms make it ideal for bringing your children on vacation, especially with the sparkling pool in the backyard. Float on your back while gazing up at the blue sky; here's your reminder to wear sunscreen. The cottage's interior has a rustic motif and is large enough to accommodate a family.

Gather the family around the wooden table, which features a unique autumnal tree feature. Though this may slightly block your view while attempting to talk to your loved ones, you have to admit that it looks fantastic. While sipping a martini on the wooden roof area, listen to your children's laughter as they play in the pool.

We recommend renting a car when staying here due to the property's remote location. The nearest beach is about a twelve–minute drive away, and the restaurants and stores in the area are only accessible by vehicle, unless you like long walks. However, in a location like this with gorgeous views, is a long walk really a bad thing?

Certainly, one for the golfing enthusiasts who can take on the same eighteen holes as some of the most experienced have played.

From your doorstep, you can explore the warren of picture-perfect streets in this historic coastal city, packed with restaurants and bars galore.
