In this rural haven, there is plenty of room to bask in the sun. The two single beds in one of the bedrooms make it ideal for bringing your children on vacation, especially with the sparkling pool in the backyard. Float on your back while gazing up at the blue sky; here's your reminder to wear sunscreen. The cottage's interior has a rustic motif and is large enough to accommodate a family.

Gather the family around the wooden table, which features a unique autumnal tree feature. Though this may slightly block your view while attempting to talk to your loved ones, you have to admit that it looks fantastic. While sipping a martini on the wooden roof area, listen to your children's laughter as they play in the pool.

We recommend renting a car when staying here due to the property's remote location. The nearest beach is about a twelve–minute drive away, and the restaurants and stores in the area are only accessible by vehicle, unless you like long walks. However, in a location like this with gorgeous views, is a long walk really a bad thing?

Only a short drive to the beach and around thirty minutes into the city with its shops and tapas bars, it also has an on-site equestrian centre and a clubhouse with a bar. Certainly, one for the golfing enthusiasts who can take on the same eighteen holes as some of the most experienced have played.

This recently refurbished Andalucian villa has all the ingredients you could want for a relaxing break in the Spanish sunshine. We can't really start with anything other than the swimming pool that takes up most of the garden, which is overlooked by palm trees and surrounded by loungers.

Around the home itself, you'll find a terrace that stretches around the property with a lounge, alfresco dining area and a pretty impressive outdoor kitchen set-up. It's fair to say that you could spend the bulk of your time outside, but that would be being the modern interior a disservice. There are plenty of standout features behind the front door, from the sleek wooden kitchen and spa-standard bathrooms to the crocodile-shaped bench in one of the bedrooms.

And the location's not half bad, either. You can be standing on the golden sands of Playa del Saladillo in around twenty minutes on foot or strolling around the designer boutiques of Puerto Banús in just under the same amount of time in the car.

Amid the rugged mountains and unspoilt countryside of the Alcornocales National Park, this home is a rustic hideaway with breathtaking views. It’s also wonderfully remote and private, making this the ideal opportunity to switch off, relax in the garden and immerse yourself in the saltwater swimming pool – which can also be fenced upon request (a great option for those travelling with children). Inside, the rooms are traditional and a little dated, but filled with charm and character.
