In this rural haven, there is plenty of room to bask in the sun. The two single beds in one of the bedrooms make it ideal for bringing your children on vacation, especially with the sparkling pool in the backyard. Float on your back while gazing up at the blue sky; here's your reminder to wear sunscreen. The cottage's interior has a rustic motif and is large enough to accommodate a family.

Gather the family around the wooden table, which features a unique autumnal tree feature. Though this may slightly block your view while attempting to talk to your loved ones, you have to admit that it looks fantastic. While sipping a martini on the wooden roof area, listen to your children's laughter as they play in the pool.

We recommend renting a car when staying here due to the property's remote location. The nearest beach is about a twelve–minute drive away, and the restaurants and stores in the area are only accessible by vehicle, unless you like long walks. However, in a location like this with gorgeous views, is a long walk really a bad thing?

A fabulous location like this deserves an impressive home, and this place near Tarifa doesn't disappoint. A luxurious villa packed with Spanish charm, it's the perfect setting for a fun and relaxing stay overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. With just a short walk to the beach (around twenty minutes or a five-minute drive) and with a choice of swimming in its huge heated indoor pool or the pretty infinity pool on the terrace, it's got all bases covered.

Set in a rural spot in La Peña, just a fifteen-minute drive from fascinating Tarifa, here you'll be at the most southerly point in Spain. Not only can you see across the Strait to Morocco's Atlas Mountains but you can even take a ferry there for a day trip to the port of Tangier. Or head along the coast to Gibraltar to see the famous rock.

Inside, this picturesque place is elegant and comfortable, with terracotta tiled floors, all-white walls and arched windows and doorways. Three lounge areas mean there's plenty of indoor space for socialising or relaxing, as well as a covered terrace and outdoor seating spots. It's fair to say that you could spend the bulk of your time outside, but that would be being the modern interior a disservice. The home itself is simple but has everything you need for an extended stay – the terrace stood out to us in particular as a spot to get some privacy while still enjoying the sun. The large communal pools will be a real hit with the kids, and golf enthusiasts will be pleased to know there are two courses nearby. And if you want to hit the coast, Puerto Banús is just a short drive.

Of course, with convenience comes the potential for some street noise and neighbouring buildings within close proximity – we think it’s worth it though to have everything on your doorstep. As a party of five, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but this makes a great base for a family or group of friends.
