Down at street level, the nearby San Martin market is ideal for stocking up on seasonal essentials, with a coffee stop and some light retail therapy thrown in for good measure.

Though you’ll be able to catch a peekaboo view of the sea from the balcony, we recommend visiting the Belle Époque La Perla Spa and Restaurant for wonderful views, delicious cocktails and a real sense of this city’s history as a spa town.

The shiny kitchen is well-equipped for cooking anything from Spanish omelettes for breakfast to tapas come dinnertime, while the chic bedrooms are as comfortable as can be.
