Situated just a stone's throw from Plaza de Gipuzkoa, most of the city's main attractions are five minutes away on foot. For a day on the area's golden sands, head to Zurriola and La Concha beaches – watch the surfers here or have a dip in the Cantabrian Sea. As you'd expect, there are plenty of tempting bars and restaurants nearby to sample too.

If you don't feel like eating out, then cook a local speciality, salt cod, in the kitchen and enjoy it at the shiny glass dining table. We love the dark wood floors and muted colour scheme here, which creates a calming influence. This place would suit business professionals, a family or couples looking for a fabulous location in this charming city.


The Little White Cloud 

Ideally located in San Sebastián’s Old Town, this slick apartment places you within easy reach of countless cultural landmarks, not to mention sandy Zurriola Beach. Inside, the decor is modern and minimalist, with a sunny covered balcony – ideal for morning coffees while people-watching from above. The bedrooms’ Juliet balconies are a nice touch, as is the green tiled bathroom with its oversized rain shower. And while the dining area isn’t the brightest room here, you need only step out your front door to discover a plethora of restaurants and bars that are sure to give you a true taste of Basque culture. 


Basque in Light

This home is for groups who are always on the go. Situated in the heart of Donostia–San Sebastián, this simple yet comfortable apartment is the perfect place to crash after a busy day spent exploring. You’re only a ten-minute walk from La Concha Beach and fifteen from Motako Gaztelua Chuch. Inside the home, there’s not much natural light (particularly in the living area) but the kitchen has everything you need for throwing together quick meals and the bedrooms are clutter-free and comfortable. 

Eguzkilore

Old meets new at this apartment in the heart of San Sebastian. There are charming traditional details, such as the rustic stone wall, along with modern touches like the minimalist kitchen and contemporary seating. Step out of the front door and wander around the old town, or La Parte Vieja as it’s known locally. You can spend hours exploring the boutiques and when you’ve worked up a thirst, refuel at one of the many pintxos bars dotted around the city. You’ll find three beaches in San Sebastian, where you can sunbathe, swim and even surf in the turquoise waters. Those with a car can also head out into the glorious Basque countryside, where there are hiking routes along the coast and inland. To round off your day, pour a drink and sit on the balcony – it overlooks the atrium of the Basílica de Santa María next door.

If you're heading over to San Sebastian anytime soon, you're not going to find many apartments with a better location than this – from the front door, you can be wandering around the Old Town in less than sixty seconds, while both La Concha and Zurriola beaches are ten minutes' walk away, too.

The home itself overlooks Zualoga Plaza, but is a peaceful refuge from the buzzy activity below. All throughout, the colour palette is heavy on soothing whites and there's a pleasing contemporary sheen to the design, which borrows from Scandi trends. It must be said that the narrow kitchen has been designed with efficiency in mind, but you'll find everything you need to whip up hearty dinners for fellow guests.

Finishing off, the pair of bedrooms aren't as generously sized as the open living room space, but there will no be complaints when it comes to cosiness, especially after returning home from a long day of exploring the Basque town's museums, restaurants and the peak of Mount Urgull.

Prince of the Plaza

La Piedra Blanca

On a lively street in San Sebastian’s Old Town, this one-bed flat is a short walk from La Concha beach. Recently renovated, the space sports a relaxed Organic Modern style, with soft neutrals, throws and cosy textures. A dove-grey sofa is the ideal spot to curl up for a quick catnap, while rattan lamps and side tables add pops of interest. The bedroom is similarly textural, and enjoys plenty of natural light from the French doors; throw them open for some sea air and to hear the sounds of the city waking up. The kitchen has a stove and coffee maker, making Spanish-style eggs easy. There’s a nearby car park where you can rent a space if necessary.

Whether you’re a foodie couple keen to taste the delights of San Sebastian or a group of sun worshippers planning to explore the beaches, you'll feel right at home here. The interiors combine traditional touches like exposed brick and wooden beams with modern additions such as trendy patterned wallpaper and geometric pendant lamps. You’re right next to Zurriola Beach and a short walk will take you to La Concha Beach, known for its crescent-shaped bay. The old town is on your doorstep, where you can hop between pintxos bars and savour snacks and drinks as the locals do. Back at home, have a nightcap on the terrace or relax on the sofa before sinking into a restful sleep.
