The villa itself is equipped with everything you’ll need for a seamless stay and while the bedrooms are simple, they’re comfortable enough for extended stays. Outside, there’s a private swimming pool and a dining terrace, though, at capacity, not everyone will fit around the table, so we’d be tempted by a picnic on the lawn instead.

You'll find this villa only a ten-minute drive from the sandy shores of Platja de Canyelles. Even when you're not lounging on the beach or exploring Spain's Costa Brava region, you'll be able to bask in the sparkling Mediterranean Sea views from this home's private swimming pool and first-floor balcony. The outdoor spaces have coastal relaxation written all over them, while the interior takes a slightly more old-world approach to the design. It's a tad dated, especially the bathrooms, but factor in the postcard-worthy scenery and fantastic location, and it's no wonder it caught our eye.

You can be on the sand in just a few minutes, and while that’s hard to resist, it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate the house. It’s over the top, but in such an unabashedly bold house, it kind of works. Of course, the fact that each has an en-suite bathroom (and a couple of those have jacuzzis) doesn’t hurt. In Les Gavarres Natural Park within the famous Costa Brava area of Spain, this villa dates back to the 18th century. With sprawling grounds filled with citrus orchards, vast lawns, shaded patios and a shimmering private swimming pool, it's perfect for family holidays, reunions with friends, special events or even corporate retreats. Each room is uniquely and elegantly decorated and offers stunning views of the surrounding scenery. There are several living rooms to spread out across and we particularly love the barrel-vaulted dining room big enough for groups to gather.

This lovely home in Llafranc is perfect for those looking for absolute rest and relaxation. Boasting countryside views, this home is close to the beach and the bars of the town, while being nicely removed from tourist traps. Llafranc is a quiet part of Spain on the Costa Brava, with a stunning coastline and gorgeous beaches. 

The home is bright and cheerful, with bold splashes of colour that add warmth to the neutral palette. Your eye will most often be drawn outside, through the floor-to-ceiling windows that lead onto the large terrace. Trees surround the home, making it feel nicely secluded despite being part of a resort. 

When you’re not by the shared swimming pool – which is huge and inviting – you’ll likely spend most of your time on the terrace. There are sun loungers so sun-worshippers will be content, and there’s a lovely dining area too. You might like to drive fourteen minutes to beautiful Calella de Palafrugell for lunch by the water, and then spend your evenings grilling up local seafood on the barbecue. 

The clear water and soft sand of Platja El Cau are a seven-minute walk away, so days at the beach couldn’t be easier. To really take in the glorious coastline, walk ten minutes to the viewpoint at Mirador de la Divina Pastora. It’s a wonderful spot for sunset.

Nestled in the coastal village of Calella de Palafrugell, a scenic walk from the golden sands of El Golfet beach, this villa promises an exceptional stay – especially since you'll have a House Manager and housekeeping team looking after you. Inside, the bedrooms all have their own en-suites and dressing rooms (spread over three floors), plus there's a lift down to the basement where you'll find an independent suite and a professional cinema. Yes, the cinema is impressive, but we expect you'll spend most of your time here outdoors, where there's plenty of space for swimming and soaking up the sun. And just look at that view – it speaks for itself.

This neat little apartment is a perfect spot for a family beach holiday. Set in a small fishing village, it’s in one of Costa Brava's most quaint areas – think sandy beaches, fragrant Mediterranean pines and fresh off the boat seafood. The light-filled rooms are clean and contemporary, with three bedrooms and a large dine-on balcony. You’re on the third floor of the apartment building, giving you unforgettable views across the sea and the resort. Kids will love the shared pool and play park, and beach bums will be in seventh heaven with sandy Playa S’Agaró-San Pol a short walk away. You’re within walking distance of the supermarket for breakfast bits or suppers on the terrace, and when you’re not in the mood to cook, there’s a great choice of restaurants which can be reached on foot as well.

Gaudi might be famous for his work in Barcelona, but that hasn't stopped this home taking inspiration from the famous Catalan architect. A 200-year-old farmhouse has been turned into a slick, white-washed hangout. Modernist influences are seen in the rounded walls, arched doorways, and buckled pillars. The living room is far out, from the white pool and foosball tables to the huge semi-circular sofa. The master suite is the most impressive, sending out spaceship vibes with its round bed, droplet shaped fireplace and spacious curved bath. But not even the slinky interiors can compete with Mother Nature, as views over the hills and out to the sea abound from every angle. The garden has been planted with bougainvillea, which showers archways and dining tables with pink blossoms when it blooms. For special occasions, head to the home's club room, complete with a DJ hut and incredible sound system. Life will feel pretty amazing floating in the infinity pool or sipping cocktails on the terrace.

The private terrace offers an idyllic entryway to this charming two-story abode, as well as a spot for golden hour sundowners. Renovated to feel luxurious and modern, this beautiful villa was originally built in the 1940s and it has the patchwork stone facade to show for it. Although imposing from a distance, the interior radiates comfort and homeliness to make your break as cosy as possible, but not without a little dash of pizazz. Wander across three floors to find your favourite spot in this home – we can guarantee for some it will be in the games room where you can pass hours playing billiards, whereas other may take most favourably to the minibar and dancefloor. 

As fun as it is indoors, the outdoor area has even more to offer. Splash in the pool or challenge each other to a game of tennis, but don’t forget to unwind on the sunloungers as you kick back with an ice-cold drink and good book. 

Light the barbecue for lunch and make use of the sprawling terrace to socialise with wine, nibbles and good conversation. For a bit of alone-time, you can take to one of the swing chairs to admire the view, or stretch yourself all the way out on one of the hammocks to have an afternoon nap in the shade of the trees. 

Costa Brava has an arresting Mediterranean coastline and we encourage you to explore it. Start by taking a twenty-five-minute walk to the soft sand of Llafranc beach. When you’re not enjoying alfresco meals at home, you might stroll to find some choice restaurants not even ten minutes away.
