And when you’re ready to explore, the historic town of Torroella de Montgri, with its narrow streets and impressive castle, and the former fishing village of L’Escala, famous for its anchovies, are just a short drive away.

But the living room and kitchens on the top floor mean optimal views when dining alfresco or relaxing after a busy day.

Inside, the bedrooms all have their own en-suites and dressing rooms (spread over three floors), plus there's a lift down to the basement where you'll find an independent suite and a professional cinema. Yes, the cinema is impressive, but we expect you'll spend most of your time here outdoors, where there's plenty of space for swimming and soaking up the sun. And just look at that view – it speaks for itself.

Sitting on the hillside just outside of Sa Riera and Begur, The property enjoys a peaceful setting with a view down to the sea in the distance, which guests can enjoy whilst spending leisurely days in the sun with family and friends. Surrounded by dense vegetation and regional plants, the villa boasts a unique appearance with a vibrant red facade and traditional terracotta tiled roof. The spacious interior features a well-designed layout that maximizes the surrounding views, while characterful furnishings and natural tones create a warm and homely atmosphere. The upper level comprises a large living room with arched windows, a fully equipped kitchen with a central island, and three bedrooms. The lower floor offers a master bedroom with direct garden access. Outside, guests can relax by the saltwater pool or dine on the timber decking while enjoying the warm weather.

Back home, the communal pool helps the home stand out from other places in the area, and should you need flexible sleeping arrangements, you'll find a sofa bed on the mezzanine.

Perfectly positioned on a hillside, a ten-minute drive from the pretty town of Begur, this villa is all about sea views and laidback living. Your days will be spent on your private terrace, soaking up every last drop of the Costa Brava sunshine. Perhaps you’ll settle into a lounger with an ice-cold beverage in hand or maybe you’ll swim gentle laps in the glittering pool. When it’s time to eat, set the table on the balcony ready for a Catalan feast whipped up in the no-frills kitchen and if you’d like a quiet moment with your holiday read, the window seat in the bright living space is an excellent spot. Stretch your legs with a twenty-five-minute walk to Sa Tuna, an idyllic cove with a sandy beach – it was our favourite spot to while away the long afternoons. Head home before dusk with a bottle of Cava and watch the sunset melt into the ocean from your enviable vantage point.

This Spanish apartment provides a great base for exploring the beaches of Costa Brava – it's just a leisurely stroll from here to Sa Riera Beach, a gorgeous sandy spot where you can enjoy sea swimming or water sports.  Here, you'll enjoy access to the building's shared infinity pool, and enjoy some stellar sea views while you do your morning lengths. The home itself is pretty basic, but features some boho styling that gives it some character – we love the beachy decor and colourful soft furnishings.

You’ll be within walking distance of a range of restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and a five minute stroll will take you to a beautiful, sandy beach. Though the apartment isn’t as spacious as some, you’ll have the benefit of a shared infinity pool with views to the sea. And with free, private parking, hiring a car to explore the rest of the Costa Brava is must.

From this apartment, it’s just a five-minute stroll down the tree-lined steps to Sa Riera beach. Often referred to as 'the pearl of the Costa Brava’, this is the perfect location for a laid-back coastal getaway. You’ll also find restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance, and for those looking to adventure further afield, speak to your host about the range of experiences and excursions they offer. Back at home, you can relax with a swim in the communal pool and make the most of the views from the balcony. There’s also a sofa bed for one extra guest (or two children), making this an ideal option for families.

Inside, beds can be configured as doubles or twins upon request and there’s an office for anyone who’s mixing business with pleasure. Location-wise, Pals Beach is less than a twenty-five-minute drive away and the town of La Bisbal d'Empordà is reached in fifteen.

Modern and conveniently located a five-minute walk from Sa Riera Beach, this apartment is all about making the most of the Spanish sunshine. A car is needed if you’d like to explore the wider Costa Brava or sample the restaurants in nearby Begur. Back at home, where to admire the views of the Mediterranean Sea will be your biggest decision – choose between the private terrace or the communal infinity pool. It’s worth noting the abode is spread across two floors, so it may not suit those with limited mobility.

It’s based just a short stroll away from the stunning Racou beach, where you can enjoy a dip in the Mediterranean, sunbathe on the sandy shore, or sip on a glass of champagne in a beach bar. The home sits nestled away in a peaceful spot, surrounded by leafy green gardens, giving you a serene retreat to return to after days spent in the more vibrant parts of town.

We adore how this home is packed with character – ornate tiled floors, elegant light fixtures, traditional artwork and chic French furniture give it a je ne sais quoi that’s rare to find. There’s plenty of places to make lots of memories here – the beautiful outdoor pool provides the perfect place to cool off in the sunshine, while the terrace invites you to sip on sundowners while you watch the sky turn pink on warm summer evenings. The countryside around this grand, Catalan mansion looks like a painting with verdant green forests meeting wildflower meadows. The view from the arched windows of the living room, across the green hills to the shimmering Mediterranean Sea, is a reminder that you’re just a ten-minute drive from the coast here. A day at the beach is possible at the secret bays of Cala del Crit and Cala el Golfet, both sandy coves hidden between the cliffs.

But we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up spending all your time at this luxurious, old-world villa instead. Sun terraces and shaded nooks offer sunseekers and wallflowers alike a place to spend the day. The fountain-fed Roman swimming pool invites you for a dip on a hot day and, wandering the expansive grounds, you’ll stumble across a tennis court and games area with ping pong. Outdoor dining is a treat with a huge table for the whole group in front of the summer kitchen and, if you’re hosting a special event, a marquee can be set up on the lawn.

The foundations of this home date back to the 14th century, and inside you can still get a feel for the medieval in the vaulted basement where you’ve got your own private spa. Down here, there’s an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Various lounges and sitting rooms allow the whole group to spread out and our favourite has to be the Rib-vaulted grand lounge with its Baroque painted ceiling harking back to a bygone era. Perhaps spend the evening taking it back to analogue in the library or snooker room.

Sea views, sun-kissed outside spaces, and sleek interiors – this villa gets full marks from us. Unsurprisingly, the panoramas are the star of the show. The infinity pool feels like it spills into the sea, while the terrace offers the perfect vantage point for drinks as the sun goes down. Inside, the white hues and pared-back design let the vistas do all the talking. Consider yourself a fitness buff? The small gym is ideal for morning workouts. Right on the coastline of the Costa Brava, you'll be a short drive from Begur, Tamariu, and other notable spots – that's if you can pull yourself away from the scenery back home, of course.

Not far from the Spanish border you’ll find Perpignan, a classified City of Art and History – thanks to its roots as a former Majorcan capital – and home to this eclectic apartment. It’s only fitting that the bold interior echoes elements of both Spanish and French flair as an ode to its surroundings. The result is a vibrant space that honours natural wood and rattan but also puts more opulent touches front and centre. 

Spend your time here unwinding with an early-morning coffee on the balcony or by reading on the sunny sofa. Gather around the kitchen island after lunch to pour the wine, snacking as you chat. 

When you wander out, you’ll find Spanish influences in the Cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptiste and the majestic promenade des Platanes. Take holiday photos in front of the many ancient buildings and sit down to eat at one of the local restaurants or cafes. Head to the beach – Plage du Lido lies at the other end of a short drive, or tee off at Golf de Saint-Cyprien.

Cleverly designed over three floors to merge into the hillside, the home boasts sea views from inside and out. Lazy days can be spent admiring the vistas from the private pool and terraces and when you’re ready to head out, you’ll find a sandy beach and choice of restaurants in Tamariu, just a five-minute drive away. 

Hills & Sea

Located on the coastal path between Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell, this property is in one of the most beautiful areas of the Costa Brava. The sea views are expansive and lovely, and there is a small jetty on the lowest level of the home that grants access to Llafranc beach. You might hear some noise from neighbours due to the close-knit manner of the area's buildings, but you're within walking distance of several Llafranc restaurants, and it's easy to enjoy an authentic Spanish stay from this charming home.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors allow the backdrop of the sea to be the mountains during your stay at this apartment on the Costa Brava. Sunny and finished with all the modern conveniences, a family will find great ease whilst at this home. Waking up to gorgeous views over the sea while you enjoy breakfast around the dining table will be a delight that won’t get boring. Both the master and children’s bunkroom opens up onto the terrace overhanging the sands of Empuriabrava beach. Speaking of, getting to and fro the golden sands and turquoise waters for water sports and sunbathing is easy, so you’ll have no trouble popping back to the terrace for lunch. The canals of the surrounding town, known as the Venice of Spain, are one of its defining attributes, so when you’re not with the kids engaging in activities, you can head out on a nightlife scene as vibrant and luxurious as some of Europe’s other seaside destinations.

We can't think of many things better than living right on the beachfront of the French Mediterranean coast. Sitting four floors up with a spectacular panoramic view of the breakers, this effortlessly chic, modern home adds a slice of luxury to beach holidays. Inside, there’s everything you need to relax and unwind, from the colourful sofa and stylish wicker chairs to the tasteful bedrooms with their large windows that welcome in the morning sunlight. But our favourite spot has be the grand, sweeping balcony that directly overlooks the beach and the vast sea. From here, gaze out towards the horizon as you sip a sundowner cocktail with your favourite people, or enjoy dinner in the lukewarm night air. The hub for beach activities is directly over the road, so whether you want to go swimming, kayaking or windsurfing in the balmy Med, you'll be in the water in minutes. If you can tear yourself away from the sandy shores, a half-hour car ride will get you to Perpignan, loved for its renowned cultural scene and wide array of restaurants and bars.

Splashed across architectural digests and featured in glossy magazines, this is a very special spot in the Baix Empordà. Wild gardens carry the scent of Mediterranean herbs and the swimming pool and terrace have been constructed with rose-hued stone from the nearby River Ter. The dining terrace can be closed off or opened up to the sprawling views thanks to folding glass doors and it backs onto the farmhouse-style kitchen. Bedrooms embrace the surroundings with traditional Catalan "volta" (brick vaulted) ceilings, along with the spartan lounge which feels like a ceramics workshop. If you want to get out an explore, buzzing Girona is just over half-an-hour’s drive away and the beach at L'Estartit is twenty minutes by car.   

From the Riverbed

Gaudi might be famous for his work in Barcelona, but that hasn't stopped this home taking inspiration from the famous Catalan architect. A 200-year-old farmhouse has been turned into a slick, white-washed hangout. Modernist influences are seen in the rounded walls, arched doorways, and buckled pillars. The living room is far out, from the white pool and foosball tables to the huge semi-circular sofa. The master suite is the most impressive, sending out spaceship vibes with its round bed, droplet shaped fireplace and spacious curved bath. But not even the slinky interiors can compete with Mother Nature, as views over the hills and out to the sea abound from every angle. The garden has been planted with bougainvillea, which showers archways and dining tables with pink blossoms when it blooms. For special occasions, head to the home's club room, complete with a DJ hut and incredible sound system. Life will feel pretty amazing floating in the infinity pool or sipping cocktails on the terrace.

Sitting peacefully on the rugged coastline of Palafrugell, this home makes the ideal setting for a rustic Catalonian escape. You’ll be welcomed by beautiful views, a private swimming pool and plenty of outdoor space to sit back and soak it all in. The rooms and furnishings are slightly dated, but it’s a great option for families with one of the twin bedrooms featuring children’s beds, plus your host can also help organise cots and high chairs. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just 2.2. kilometres to the amenities of Palafrugell, with Platja Fonda beach just a ten-minute drive away.

Llafranc is a quiet part of Spain on the Costa Brava, with a stunning coastline and gorgeous beaches. 

The home is bright and cheerful, with bold splashes of colour that add warmth to the neutral palette. Your eye will most often be drawn outside, through the floor-to-ceiling windows that lead onto the large terrace. Trees surround the home, making it feel nicely secluded despite being part of a resort. 

When you’re not by the shared swimming pool – which is huge and inviting – you’ll likely spend most of your time on the terrace. There are sun loungers so sun-worshippers will be content, and there’s a lovely dining area too. You might like to drive fourteen minutes to beautiful Calella de Palafrugell for lunch by the water, and then spend your evenings grilling up local seafood on the barbecue. 

The clear water and soft sand of Platja El Cau are a seven-minute walk away, so days at the beach couldn’t be easier. To really take in the glorious coastline, walk ten minutes to the viewpoint at Mirador de la Divina Pastora. It’s a wonderful spot for sunset. 


Orange Sherbet

If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway on a stretch of coastline that as yet, miraculously remains unspoilt by the tourist rush, look no further. This four-bedroom villa, complete with a Roman-style private pool, is on one of the prettiest (and quietest) stretches of the Costa Brava, just minutes away from the fishing port and sandy beach of Tamariu. Come inside and be prepared for a beautiful treat – what the home’s façade promises with its old-world glamour, the interior more than delivers. We love the stone and wood details, the unique art pieces and furnishings, and the cosy, inviting ambience. There is more than enough space to snuggle up and enjoy a movie night or an afternoon of wine and conversation, with an ornamental fireplace to add to that homely feel. 

The bedrooms, situated upstairs, are another highlight: with plush, comfy beds, timelessly stylish furnishings, and beautiful wooden floors, you’re guaranteed a restful sleep. 

Whenever you feel like exploring, there is an abundance of activities to be enjoyed in the area – from cycling and horse riding, to exploring the charming town of Calonge and the stunning beaches of the Costa Brava, just five and ten minutes away by car respectively.
