Only a two-minute stroll from the promenade-lined Tamariu Beach, this apartment gives you excellent access to seaside shops and cafes. Fancy making memories? This town offers a variety of boating experiences, or maybe you'll venture inland for a hike along the Font d'en Cruanyes. Though this bright home can accommodate up to four guests, some may find the living space a bit cramped once the sofa bed pulls out. We also think the balcony is better suited as a romantic chill-out spot.

Perfectly positioned on a hillside, a ten-minute drive from the pretty town of Begur, this villa is all about sea views and laidback living. Your days will be spent on your private terrace, soaking up every last drop of the Costa Brava sunshine. Perhaps you’ll settle into a lounger with an ice-cold beverage in hand or maybe you’ll swim gentle laps in the glittering pool. When it’s time to eat, set the table on the balcony ready for a Catalan feast whipped up in the no-frills kitchen and if you’d like a quiet moment with your holiday read, the window seat in the bright living space is an excellent spot. Stretch your legs with a twenty-five-minute walk to Sa Tuna, an idyllic cove with a sandy beach – it was our favourite spot to while away the long afternoons. Head home before dusk with a bottle of Cava and watch the sunset melt into the ocean from your enviable vantage point.

This lovely home in Llafranc is perfect for those looking for absolute rest and relaxation. Boasting countryside views, this home is close to the beach and the bars of the town, while being nicely removed from tourist traps. Llafranc is a quiet part of Spain on the Costa Brava, with a stunning coastline and gorgeous beaches. 

The home is bright and cheerful, with bold splashes of colour that add warmth to the neutral palette. Your eye will most often be drawn outside, through the floor-to-ceiling windows that lead onto the large terrace. Trees surround the home, making it feel nicely secluded despite being part of a resort. 

When you’re not by the shared swimming pool – which is huge and inviting – you’ll likely spend most of your time on the terrace. There are sun loungers so sun-worshippers will be content, and there’s a lovely dining area too. You might like to drive fourteen minutes to beautiful Calella de Palafrugell for lunch by the water, and then spend your evenings grilling up local seafood on the barbecue. 

The clear water and soft sand of Platja El Cau are a seven-minute walk away, so days at the beach couldn’t be easier. To really take in the glorious coastline, walk ten minutes to the viewpoint at Mirador de la Divina Pastora. It’s a wonderful spot for sunset.

Nestled in the coastal village of Calella de Palafrugell, a scenic walk from the golden sands of El Golfet beach, this villa promises an exceptional stay – especially since you'll have a House Manager and housekeeping team looking after you. Inside, the bedrooms all have their own en-suites and dressing rooms (spread over three floors), plus there's a lift down to the basement where you'll find an independent suite and a professional cinema. Yes, the cinema is impressive, but we expect you'll spend most of your time here outdoors, where there's plenty of space for swimming and soaking up the sun. Although imposing from a distance, the interior radiates comfort and homeliness to make your break as cosy as possible, but not without a little dash of pizazz. Wander across three floors to find your favourite spot in this home – we can guarantee for some it will be in the games room where you can pass hours playing billiards, whereas other may take most favourably to the minibar and dancefloor. 

As fun as it is indoors, the outdoor area has even more to offer. Splash in the pool or challenge each other to a game of tennis, but don’t forget to unwind on the sunloungers as you kick back with an ice-cold drink and good book. 

Light the barbecue for lunch and make use of the sprawling terrace to socialise with wine, nibbles and good conversation. For a bit of alone-time, you can take to one of the swing chairs to admire the view, or stretch yourself all the way out on one of the hammocks to have an afternoon nap in the shade of the trees.

We loved the contemporary windows that flood the interiors with natural light, providing a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Its stone-walled garden is in keeping with the home’s traditional charm and offers a lovely backdrop to the sunsets over the Pyrenees each night.

Sitting peacefully on the rugged coastline of Palafrugell, this home makes the ideal setting for a rustic Catalonian escape. You’ll be welcomed by beautiful views, a private swimming pool and plenty of outdoor space to sit back and soak it all in. The rooms and furnishings are slightly dated, but it’s a great option for families with one of the twin bedrooms featuring children’s beds, plus your host can also help organise cots and high chairs. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just 2.2. kilometres to the amenities of Palafrugell, with Platja Fonda beach just a ten-minute drive away.

Make the most of the built-in barbecue and dine alfresco or walk the coastal path to Llafranc for a memorable meal along the seafront.

When you start to miss civilization, though, you're just 15 minutes from La Bisbal d'Empordà, a town with shops and eateries, and close to some of Costa Brava's most beautiful beaches.

Perched on the balcony, you'll be able to catch incredible sunrises and see the fishing boats of Sa Riera resting just off the beach. Said beach is, along with several shops and restaurants, only a few minutes walk away, meaning you can break from your seclusion whenever you want. Back home, the communal pool helps the home stand out from other places in the area, and should you need flexible sleeping arrangements, you'll find a sofa bed on the mezzanine.

This compact apartment is in a convenient location, in the fishing village turned holiday resort of Sa Riera. You’ll be within walking distance of a range of restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and a five minute stroll will take you to a beautiful, sandy beach. Though the apartment isn’t as spacious as some, you’ll have the benefit of a shared infinity pool with views to the sea. And with free, private parking, hiring a car to explore the rest of the Costa Brava is must.

A Taste Of Riera

Modern and conveniently located a five-minute walk from Sa Riera Beach, this apartment is all about making the most of the Spanish sunshine. A car is needed if you’d like to explore the wider Costa Brava or sample the restaurants in nearby Begur. Back at home, where to admire the views of the Mediterranean Sea will be your biggest decision – choose between the private terrace or the communal infinity pool. It’s worth noting the abode is spread across two floors, so it may not suit those with limited mobility.

The Sun of Spain

This spacious Mediterranean-style villa offers gorgeous views across the bay of Pals. There is more than enough space for families or large friend groups, thanks to the private pool and separate annexe. Located between the medieval town and golden beach of Pals, you'll want a car here to make the most of your stay. This home's bedrooms and bathrooms are all downstairs, so it might not be suitable for guests with less mobility. But the living room and kitchens on the top floor mean optimal views when dining alfresco or relaxing after a busy day.

The countryside around this grand, Catalan mansion looks like a painting with verdant green forests meeting wildflower meadows. The view from the arched windows of the living room, across the green hills to the shimmering Mediterranean Sea, is a reminder that you’re just a ten-minute drive from the coast here. A day at the beach is possible at the secret bays of Cala del Crit and Cala el Golfet, both sandy coves hidden between the cliffs.

But we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up spending all your time at this luxurious, old-world villa instead. Sun terraces and shaded nooks offer sunseekers and wallflowers alike a place to spend the day. The fountain-fed Roman swimming pool invites you for a dip on a hot day and, wandering the expansive grounds, you’ll stumble across a tennis court and games area with ping pong. Outdoor dining is a treat with a huge table for the whole group in front of the summer kitchen and, if you’re hosting a special event, a marquee can be set up on the lawn.

The foundations of this home date back to the 14th century, and inside you can still get a feel for the medieval in the vaulted basement where you’ve got your own private spa. Down here, there’s an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Various lounges and sitting rooms allow the whole group to spread out and our favourite has to be the Rib-vaulted grand lounge with its Baroque painted ceiling harking back to a bygone era. Perhaps spend the evening taking it back to analogue in the library or snooker room.

This charming apartment has many highlights, but the obvious one lies in its proximity to the beach. You can walk just ten metres from your resort and you'll reach the golden stretch of Playa de Pals, extending to cover three kilometres of the glistening coastline. Huge and peaceful, you certainly won't struggle for a place to lay your towel. 

If you prefer swimming in the pool than the sea, the resort is home to a large, pristine pool and a cute kids pool by the side. If you're coming with little ones, the adjacent pools make it easy to keep an eye on them whilst they play in the water.

Lush greenery surrounds the pool, which continues in the garden of the apartment complex. Lined with a wooden table and sun beds, it's a dreamy spot to let your mind wander as you listen to the sound of the waves lapping onto the shore. 

You can enjoy the same sense of tranquilly from the privacy of your balcony.
