Perfectly positioned on a hillside, a ten-minute drive from the pretty town of Begur, this villa is all about sea views and laidback living. Your days will be spent on your private terrace, soaking up every last drop of the Costa Brava sunshine. Perhaps you’ll settle into a lounger with an ice-cold beverage in hand or maybe you’ll swim gentle laps in the glittering pool. When it’s time to eat, set the table on the balcony ready for a Catalan feast whipped up in the no-frills kitchen and if you’d like a quiet moment with your holiday read, the window seat in the bright living space is an excellent spot. Stretch your legs with a twenty-five-minute walk to Sa Tuna, an idyllic cove with a sandy beach – it was our favourite spot to while away the long afternoons. Head home before dusk with a bottle of Cava and watch the sunset melt into the ocean from your enviable vantage point.

Girasol

A vision of relaxation just outside Sant Feliu de Guixols on the Costa Brava, this villa invites you to enjoy a treacly pace of life and make the most out of the dazzling Spanish sun. 

Laid out over three floors, there’s plenty of space to socialise altogether, while the downstairs TV room, separate living area and comfortable bedrooms allow for quiet moments to steal for yourself. We love the contemporary, pared-back decor that feels effortlessly stylish against the bright white walls and tiled floors, while ample natural light fills the home thanks to the large windows and beautiful outdoor spaces. As well as the covered balcony upstairs, you’ve also got a stunning patio garden replete with outdoor seating, a barbecue and a shimmering private pool. Whether you’re taking cool dips in its waters, catching some rays on the loungers or sipping sundowners around the table, you’ll love making the most out of this sun-drenched space. 

While you could easily while away whole days in your home, take some time to explore the nearby sights. You’re a seventeen-minute walk from sandy Playa de Sant Feliu, a four-minute stroll from the Les Penyes observation deck, while bustling Girona is just under forty minutes away by car. 


Shimmering Blue

This neat little apartment is a perfect spot for a family beach holiday. Set in a small fishing village, it’s in one of Costa Brava's most quaint areas – think sandy beaches, fragrant Mediterranean pines and fresh off the boat seafood. The light-filled rooms are clean and contemporary, with three bedrooms and a large dine-on balcony. You’re on the third floor of the apartment building, giving you unforgettable views across the sea and the resort. Kids will love the shared pool and play park, and beach bums will be in seventh heaven with sandy Playa S’Agaró-San Pol a short walk away. You’re within walking distance of the supermarket for breakfast bits or suppers on the terrace, and when you’re not in the mood to cook, there’s a great choice of restaurants which can be reached on foot as well. 

Sun On The Pines

Located in the heart of charming Begur, this stylish Spanish villa offers the perfect sanctuary within Costa Brava’s bustling town. Ideally placed for strolling into town for delicious lunches and designer shopping, you’ll quickly slip into the laid-back local lifestyle here. Vibrant Barcelona is also around a half an hour drive away and makes for an excellent day trip. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into ensuring Sunset Hideaway has a sociable vibe. You’ll find large living spaces across two floors, making this a great spot for two groups of families looking for the occasional downtime. We loved the contemporary windows that flood the interiors with natural light, providing a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Its stone-walled garden is in keeping with the home’s traditional charm and offers a lovely backdrop to the sunsets over the Pyrenees each night. 

Sunset Hideaway

Perched in the Gavarres Massif Nature Reserve, this sprawling estate is a true retreat into nature. Sleeping twenty-six guests across two stone houses, there’s space for everyone to gather in this home – with plenty of privacy too, thanks to the ten en-suite bedrooms. Interiors are rustic chic, and while there’s no air conditioning, thick stone walls keep rooms naturally cool. Outside, the expansive grounds are the perfect spot for soaking up the view, with everything you need to disconnect. When hunger strikes, your private chef will be on hand to serve lunch and dinner, with supplies from your on-site vegetable garden. In fact, you'll have a whole team of staff at your disposal here – from pastry chefs to sommeliers and more. And the kids haven't been forgotten about, either. Swimming pool? Tick. Trampoline? Tick. TV room? Yes, that too. What more could you need?

Into the Catalonian Wild

Just off the beaten track from Girona is this cottage straight out of a storybook. Rustic and old-fashioned yet absolutely charming, the home is infused with a homey, Spanish colonial vibrance that warmly welcomes a family or group of friends. Wooden trusses criss-cross the ceilings and shutters open up and look out onto the Spanish countryside from various rooms. Days will be spent either around the flora filled pool garden, dining in the shade of a stone archway, or at the beach which is a quick drive from the cottage. The home is located within a small and sought-after resort with its own nearby castle, prestigious golf courses and in the summer months, a classical music concert. 

Spanish Story Book

The countryside around this grand, Catalan mansion looks like a painting with verdant green forests meeting wildflower meadows. The view from the arched windows of the living room, across the green hills to the shimmering Mediterranean Sea, is a reminder that you’re just a ten-minute drive from the coast here. A day at the beach is possible at the secret bays of Cala del Crit and Cala el Golfet, both sandy coves hidden between the cliffs.

But we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up spending all your time at this luxurious, old-world villa instead. Sun terraces and shaded nooks offer sunseekers and wallflowers alike a place to spend the day. The fountain-fed Roman swimming pool invites you for a dip on a hot day and, wandering the expansive grounds, you’ll stumble across a tennis court and games area with ping pong. Outdoor dining is a treat with a huge table for the whole group in front of the summer kitchen and, if you’re hosting a special event, a marquee can be set up on the lawn.

The foundations of this home date back to the 14th century, and inside you can still get a feel for the medieval in the vaulted basement where you’ve got your own private spa. Down here, there’s an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Various lounges and sitting rooms allow the whole group to spread out and our favourite has to be the Rib-vaulted grand lounge with its Baroque painted ceiling harking back to a bygone era. Perhaps spend the evening taking it back to analogue in the library or snooker room. 

Spanish Nobility

Offering you the best of both worlds, this homely cottage in the Spanish countryside exemplifies country living but with easy access to the Costa Brava coast. 

Imagine yourself here, starting every morning in the shaker-style kitchen and enjoying a cup of coffee at the sturdy wooden table. See the beautiful world outside through arched windows as you stroll across terracotta tiles and under curved ceilings. An easiness here will take the knots out of your shoulders and encourage you to spend lazy mornings basking in the sun as you read poolside. Run around on the lawn, dine al fresco at every opportunity – the outdoor kitchen is perfect for putting tapas together – and spend evenings under the stars with a jug of sangria.

With its pastel colour palette and the natural elements that border on boho, this home will be a joy for the whole family, affording everyone the privacy and space they need to unwind. If, however, you’d like to explore more of the area, we recommend trying some of the surrounding restaurants for a taste of Spain. Hike the trails to get more acquainted with the natural landscape and spend sun-drenched days on the beach as you explore the coast. 

The Olive Green Arch

Near the glamorous resort of S'Agaro – which has had famous visitors such as Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, and Sean Connery – you can live the high life on the Costa Brava at this delightful villa. You're just a 25-minute walk from S'Agaro beach, while a short drive will take you to the larger resort of Platja D'Aro, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to discover. However, you might spend most days at your villa, sunbathing in the garden or taking a dip in the pool. Enjoy breakfast each morning at the outdoor dining table – the sun is guaranteed to shine all day here in the Costa Brava – before heading out to explore the local sights. Make sure to pick up ingredients for a barbecue or prepare meals in your kitchen, which contains all the amenities you'll need including a freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. A longer stay ensures you can explore all the best parts of this wonderful coastline, with the washing machine facilitating family-sized loads of laundry.

Stellar Equilibrium

This is a cosy and comfortable 5-room house located in Vizcondado de Cabanyes, just 3km from Calonge. The property features a private terraced garden with a fenced lawn, swimming pool, pergola, garden furniture, and barbecue. The house is equipped with digital TV, a fully equipped kitchen, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The upper floor offers a large terrace with terrace furniture and deck chairs. Guests can enjoy shared access to the shower/WC in the pool area and an outdoor shower. A car is recommended to explore the area, which includes nearby attractions such as Parque Aquatico (6km), sandy beaches (5km), sports harbor (8km), golf course (10km), and riding stable (12km). Please note that the owner does not accept any youth groups and the house is suitable for families only.

The Nights at Riverton

Renovated to feel luxurious and modern, this beautiful villa was originally built in the 1940s and it has the patchwork stone facade to show for it. Although imposing from a distance, the interior radiates comfort and homeliness to make your break as cosy as possible, but not without a little dash of pizazz. Wander across three floors to find your favourite spot in this home – we can guarantee for some it will be in the games room where you can pass hours playing billiards, whereas other may take most favourably to the minibar and dancefloor. 

As fun as it is indoors, the outdoor area has even more to offer. Splash in the pool or challenge each other to a game of tennis, but don’t forget to unwind on the sunloungers as you kick back with an ice-cold drink and good book. 

Light the barbecue for lunch and make use of the sprawling terrace to socialise with wine, nibbles and good conversation. For a bit of alone-time, you can take to one of the swing chairs to admire the view, or stretch yourself all the way out on one of the hammocks to have an afternoon nap in the shade of the trees. 

Costa Brava has an arresting Mediterranean coastline and we encourage you to explore it. Start by taking a twenty-five-minute walk to the soft sand of Llafranc beach. When you’re not enjoying alfresco meals at home, you might stroll to find some choice restaurants not even ten minutes away.
