Inside, the decor is a little dated, but we reckon most of your time will be spent outside, exploring the area or lounging by the fenced private pool. There's also a dining terrace equipped with a barbecue, so you can enjoy alfresco suppers long into the endless summer evenings.

Nautical in whites and blues, this single-level home on the outskirts of Adra offers one of the most breathtaking views over the Mediterranean. This stunning Andalusian villa is the perfect getaway for a holiday with your loved ones. The interior of the home is very nicely designed, but it’s the exterior we’re most enthusiastic about. With an infinity pool, ping-pong table and several lovely terraces (including a rooftop one) we don’t blame you if you’d like to spend all your time here. Only a five-minute stroll to the sea – so close, you can just glimpse it from the balcony – this apartment's breezy, open-plan feel makes it a great base for exploring Rincón de la Victoria. Although this flat has a very sleek, contemporary design, it still has plenty of soul – we particularly love the traditional patterned kitchen tiles, vivid pops of colour on the cushy throw pillows and the bright, light-filled living space. Our favourite spot is the sun-kissed balcony. It's where you can start your day off with coffee while watching the neighbourhood wake up and end your evening with a glass of sangria as the tantalising sun goes down beyond the apartment block.

When you fancy exploring, the village has multiple attractions nearby, including golf and shopping, as well as a long sandy beach ideal for sprawling underneath clear blue skies. Hire bikes and go adventuring along the lively seafront with its array of bars and restaurants or, for a bit more buzz, make the twenty-five-minute drive to Málaga – we think it's perfect for a day trip.

In the picturesque coastal town of Nerja, this contemporary villa is tucked away on a cul-de-sac. Featuring a wrap-around balcony and private garden, there are plenty of cosy corners from which to enjoy the sunshine, our favourite being the private pool. We love that you don’t need a car here, as the centre of Nerja is just a fifteen-minute walk away. A stroll in the opposite direction will take you to Playa de Burriana, a long stretch of sandy beach known as the area’s top spot for swimming. You'll also find watersports and beach volleyball here if you're looking for ways to keep the kids entertained.


The Palms

Get the pampering you deserve at this gorgeously modern penthouse apartment, offering views of the glittering Mediterranean sea. If you're thinking you'll have to make any big sacrifices to stay here, think again – wake up and draw the curtains to fantastic views, and head downstairs for a dip in one of two communal pools to start your day. For all the home's dazzling-white, contemporary exteriors, inside, there's a distinctly bohemian feel to the interiors with rattan accents and warm wooden hues delivering all the Andalusian vibes you're chasing. And thanks to the double-height ceilings with exposed beams, everywhere feels cool and inviting.

When the coast finally lures you, nearly ten miles of sandy beaches await. The very nearest – Burriana Beach (a twelve-minute drive), gets our vote. Then make a pit stop in Nerja's Old Town (a ten-minute drive) to dive into its countless authentic restaurants for a taste of Malaga. Or, in the opposite direction, Frigiliana (a ten-minute drive) with its tapas bars tucked away within the atmospheric narrow streets of the Moorish old quarter. Just be sure to make it home for sunset – the views from that rooftop terrace are out-of-this-world.

This home is perfect for water babies. Not only will you have your own private pool to splash about in, you’ll also have dreamy vistas of the Mediterranean Sea from almost every angle. It’s in affluent Punta Lara and looks out over Nerja and the coast from an elevated position, so the views really are stunning. Best of all, Nerja's beaches and bustle are just over a kilometre away. The villa is modern and sleek, and the occasional bold splash of colour adds a touch of warmth and character. The marble floors and steep stairs might put off parents with little ones, though.

Perched just above the Andalusian coastline, this southeast-facing villa is the perfect base for a sun-kissed vacation in the south of Spain.

From your vantage point on the terrace of this home, you’ll get a good glimpse of the shimmering Mediterranean Sea and if you wish to get closer, you only need to drive to Torrox Beach for the first taste of the beautiful sandy beaches dotted along the coast.  

Now, the leaving might be difficult given how gorgeous this little home is. With doors opening from the bedroom, as well as the lounge, onto the terrace, you’ll feel that constant connection to the outdoors – and given the mild, spring temperature of Torrox all year round, you’ll have every excuse to spend all of your time out there. 

Couples can bond over alfresco breakfasts, curl up on the couch to watch a romantic movie or spend evenings stargazing from the hot tub, whilst those on a solo trip might take advantage of the peace and quiet to catch up on their reading. Though the poolside seating and outdoor dining options are fantastic, we love the amenities downstairs. There's a gym, a conference room, a private bar and pool and poker tables – it goes without saying that you'll have everything you need. While one of the en-suites lacks privacy, shy showerers can always hop into another bathroom. We recommend a car to explore the coast, though Calahonda Beach and a golf course sit on your doorstep.
