Keep in mind that some noise should be expected here, but we think it's a small price to pay for this central spot. You'll find a great selection of restaurants on your doorstep if you'd like to sample the local cuisine, but if you'd prefer to dine in, the kitchen is well-equipped for homemade tapas.

Malasaña is famous for being slightly outrageous, which is probably why Queen of the Castle is in it. A tour of this home reveals a glamorous hybrid design theme that balances modern baroque-inspired pieces with jungle and safari themes – dear lovers of minimalism, you might want to stay elsewhere. But if gold-coated flora and fauna with an occasional crown-cum-skull ensemble sound like heaven to you, then you'll find Queen of the Castle an absolute delight. Not to mention that you'll be within walking distance to Puerta del Sol and the vibrant neighbourhood of Chueca.

With a fantastic address, just off the Paseo de la Castellana, this apartment has a wealth of attractions nearby. The upmarket districts of Salamanca, Chamberi and Justicia are all close, so you'll have plenty of fine restaurants, chic boutiques and art galleries to enjoy. With one of Madrid's main avenues on your doorstep, the slight downside is you will hear some street noise here, but it's easily fixed with some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. We have to say, we love the views over Plaza Villa de París from this home. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook some homemade meals or let your host arrange a private chef to create some of your favourite tapas dishes.

Naturally, the living space features two huge glass doors leading you to a private balcony facing on to the celebrated square. Watching The World Go By

Molten Brass is neat and tidy. There isn’t a lot that jumps out at you, but that’s not necessarily a problem – the atmosphere inside is pretty calm. That stands in contrast to the atmosphere on the street below, which is pretty intense, but that’s because you’re in the heart of Malasaña, so there’s tonnes to do. As is common with any flat that is rented out all the time, there’s a lack of personality but the attention to detail, and generally pleasant, if simple, design help make the flat feel more homely.


Molten Brass

While not overly flashy, Molten Bronze's simplicity is refreshing. The interior is clean, with a few things that really standout, like the kitchen splashback, which is not something we get to highlight very often. For the most part, the furniture and decorations come from Maison du Monde, so it’s solid and stylish, if not unique. The location won’t be for everyone – it’s on a busy street in Malasaña, so it isn’t very peaceful, but there’s loads to do and you won’t get bored.


Molten Bronze

It doesn’t get any more central than the location of this stunning duplex apartment, which is an ideal base for those wanting to sample all that this vibrant city has to offer. 

Step through the front door to be welcomed by a lovely living area, bathed in streams of natural light flooding in through the large windows. You’ll find yourself immediately seduced by the charm of this place – the comfy furnishings will tempt you to kick off your shoes and spend the afternoon lounging about and admiring all the unique details. We love the beamed ceilings and the statement brick wall which lends the apartment its warm and elegant ambience. Rustle up quick and delicious meals in the bright open-plan kitchen and enjoy them with your loved ones at the dining table or better still at the sun-kissed roof terrace overlooking the ancient rooftops of the old town. Just a five-minute walk from the iconic Gran Via and ten minutes from the lively Chueca neighbourhood, you're surrounded by the city's best restaurants, bars, and shops. Don’t feel like dining out? Back home the kitchen, though cosy, has everything needed to rustle up a hearty dish of paella to end the day. And with the apartment’s seamless blend of modern and rustic, and the mirrored ceiling adding a sense of space, you’ll find it easy to relax here. 

Heart of Malasaña

Keen to be in the hustle and bustle? This apartment, just a ten-minute stroll from Gran Vía, may be a great choice. It's easy to get to all the landmarks on foot or by metro, and there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. Unsurprisingly it can get a tad noisy – but that's part of the city experience. We love the bright living area, and the two snug bedrooms channel Spanish sunshine with their yellow paint. Size-wise, it's rather compact but still comfortable – just note that it's on the second floor and lacks a lift.

Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space, we’d recommend a maximum occupancy of two.

You'll love relaxing with a glass of red wine as you admire Madrid’s cityscape from the large living room windows and plan your itinerary. There you’ll find a wonderful mix of beautiful, neoclassical architecture, trendy boutiques, and charming plazas. To get your culture fix, you can take a twenty-minute walk to Museo Nacional del Prado, then stroll through Parque de El Retiro. Later, spend the evening at the theatre, followed by a late dinner at one of the gorgeous terraced restaurants in true Spanish style.
