This stunning villa was featured in a leading local design magazine, and it’s easy to see why. Inside, a predominantly white-and-blue colour scheme, high ceilings, stylish rattan furniture, and potted palms create a relaxing, breezy beach vibe that puts you at ease instantly. A choice of thirty fruit trees in the orchard, plus numerous vegetables and herbs in the garden, make it super easy to pick the ingredients for lunch. 

Whip up a sumptuous Mediterranean feast in the modern kitchen, and then round up everyone for a lazy meal in one of the numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas. Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. In part of the gardens you'll be greeted by the resident flock of sheep – feed them a few stalks of grass and they’ll love you to bits. 

If you manage to tear yourself away from this designer retreat, the village of Alaró has grocery stores, restaurants, and a trendy little gallery hosting exhibitions by local artists. The nightlife and beaches of Palma are a thirty-minute drive away. In the evening, wind down in the hot tub while sipping wine and taking in the views of the Alaró Mountains.

The outside space is certainly the star – how could it not be, with a private pool surrounded by sun loungers, a vine-covered dining terrace, and a balcony where you can perch with a glass of wine and admire the Tramuntana Sierra scenery? That said, the carefully curated interiors are also charming. Traditional features are complemented by contemporary comforts like a private gym, a stylish main suite, and a well-appointed kitchen. When you're ready to explore, Alaró's sleepy village is a short drive away, though Deià, Palma, and the beaches in Port de Sóller are also less than an hour by car.

In the cobbled streets of Fornalutx, meander through the "Most beautiful village in Spain" straight from your front door. Step into this ancient Moorish home through an old door and let yourself be welcomed by an indoor courtyard, perfect for a refreshment before exploring the rest of the house. 

The white-washed nooks and crannies created in the 11th century have been modernised, but, with terracotta tiles, wood beams and honey-brown stone walls it still feels like an old Moorish retreat. Admire the mountains from the fragrant, bougainvillaea-shaded terrace with a barbecue on the go. Cool off in the plunge pool, surrounded by boho loungers. Get your yoga mat out in the studio and project your class on the walls before refreshing under the outdoor rooftop shower. This bean-bag-filled room doubles as a boho cinema pad too.

For the musical in the group, there’s a piano, and a library-style office if you need to catch up on emails. There are plenty of local restaurants for dinner. In the morning, directly access the hiking or cycling trails and creeks in the lush green landscape. Port de Soller and a swim in the ocean is only 15 minutes away by car too.

This lovely villa in Mallorca provides a perfectly tranquil and peaceful escape with amazing views of the forest from your private pool and from the balcony terrace. We would love to start each morning here with a breakfast of café con leche and churros as we admire the view in the early sunshine. Then, of course, take a swim in the cooling waters of the pool and dry off as you lounge in the sun. 

The home is located near Binissalem, a Mallorcan village that is well known for its wine production. There are many wine cellars in the area, so why not go for a wine tasting which can be reached by car within nine minutes? In Binissalem you will also find plenty of other amenities including, supermarkets, bars, and restaurants. 

You can play a round of golf at the course that is just a twenty-five-minute drive away or have a competitive game of paintball – a six-minute drive away from your door. If shopping is more your style, head to the Mallorca Fashion Outlet, which can be reached in seventeen minutes by car. 

If you want to explore the island’s culture and heritage, then there is plenty of that not far from this home. An eighteen-minute drive will get you to Alaró Castle, a ruined fortress in the hills that has existed since 902. Drive fifty-two minutes from this home and you can reach, Salt d’es Freu waterfalls to admire nature’s stunning creation, or explore Port de Pollença – a thirty-four-minute drive away. 

For days on the sandy beach, drive twenty-seven minutes to Puerto d’Alcúdia. Or drive twenty-nine minutes to Palma and see the gothic cathedral, old town, wander the sands of the bay of Palma, or even enjoy the nightlife. 

Dine in one of Palma’s many restaurants, or head home in the evening and cook up some delicious tapas in the kitchen or on the barbecue, and dine alfresco beside the pool with a glass of wine made in Binissalem.

We love the kitchen and dining space at this villa. There’s a barbecue outside, and a kitchen that leads right to the terrace. Known as the wine capital of Mallorca, Binissalem has some of the best vineyards on the island, not to mention plenty in the way of art, culture, nature and gastronomy. On entering the lively town, you’ll notice the abundance of historic stone facades, and your new home is no exception. 
 
Positioned around a postcard-perfect courtyard, this low-rise home has a ‘shoes off’ feel with large terracotta tiles, beamed ceilings, white walls and beautifully built archways. Touches of colour add extra character to the interior, like the tiled dining table with its sea-green bucket seats and the vibrant paintings depicting island life.
 
But it’s in the private courtyard where this home truly shines. The cobbled walls and flagstone floor take you back to a time when life was a little slower, while the eye-catching green shutters are complemented by a veritable jungle of plant life, from potted palms to ambitious ivy creepers. There are plenty of sunny and shaded places to lounge and the octagonal pool bordered by decking is the perfect spot to cool off from the blazing Spanish sun. There’s a barbecue here too for alfresco feasts aplenty. And with access to this private oasis from the main living area and both bedrooms, there’s no time to lose before opening the French doors out onto this sun-baked spot and luxuriating treacly hours away in total relaxation. 
 
When it comes to things to see and do, explore Binissalem’s centre a four-minute walk away and sample the countless wineries – many of which are less than ten minutes from your door. You’re also a thirty-minute drive from the coast where sandy Alcudia Beach awaits, while Inca – known for its long history of leather making – is thirteen minutes away by car.

There's also a smart marble island in the kitchen that invites you to put together a gourmet starter or two. There's plenty to do at this home, and you may not want to leave your peaceful oasis, but if you want a taste of Mallorca, get into your car and take the half–hour drive to the rugged coastline, where sweeping cliffs and white–sand beaches await.

Set in the village of Sóller, this home feels like a lavish piece of Mallorca's history. From its beamed dining room with long oak tables to the sweeping staircase, it’s all old-world charm in here. An industrial kitchen is the newest part of the building, and will help even the most amateur of chefs whip up an impressive feast. Divided into two buildings (though the annexe requires a fee to use), the home is centred around the main house where most of the bedrooms are found, and each is as stately as the next, with four-poster beds, comfy sofas, and en suites with tiled baths ensuring that everyone feels like royalty. But not even the stunning architecture can compete with the Mother Nature – from the windows to the terraces and balconies, the mountain views are what crowns this place for us. 

Slip on your favourite eveningwear, sweep across the swirling tiled floors, and spend evenings gorging underneath the tree-covered patio. A private pool and sun loungers are on hand for recuperating, while small stone balconies can be found in every corner – perfect for sipping your morning cup of coffee on. 

Should you feel the need to leave the villa, Sóller is a pretty old town with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Perhaps take the chocolate-box train to Port de Sóller for a seafood feast by the harbourside, or into Palma to soak up some Mallorcan history and culture.

Nestled in the island's wine region, you'll be staying adjacent to a large vineyard. As for fresh-air hangouts at home, the outdoor living space centres around the pool. But we also love the dining options on the roof terrace, promising views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Take your siestas inside a 19th-century finca, retaining its rustic character. Little ones are looked after thanks to the baby cot and high chair provided. Fancy a drive? Nearby country towns offer heaps of Mallorcan charm.

Welcome to the jungle – or at least, Mallorca's version of it. The craggy backbone of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage status for their untouched beauty – and nestled amongst the peaks and foliage, you'll find the sleepy little village of Fornalutx and this swoon-worthy villa. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Port de Sóller and the beach, this is the perfect spot to soak up the island's traditional atmosphere.

This charming and rather unique place rises up from the lush greenery like an ancient temple – though we doubt many of those featured an enormous indoor pool, a spacious garden for you to bask in the sunshine, and a dining terrace with one of the best views we've ever seen. We're already picturing morning breakfasts on the terrace, afternoon swims in the pool and evening cocktails as the sun goes down over the village.

Inside, it's just as lovely as its backdrop, with period features and antique furniture providing a quintessentially Mallorcan touch. We love the comfortable lounge area, with big sofas all centred around the stone fireplace, as well as the enormous bedrooms with roomy en-suites. But our favourite has to be the double-height dining hall. With its chandelier and ornately-carved table, it's crying out for a formal family meal – come dinnertime, enjoy tapas, a bottle of wine and good conversation as the breeze blows through the French doors.

You Gotta Have Fronds

Situated a couple of kilometres from the charming village of Santa María del Camí, this traditional villa is perfectly set up for extended families or large friendly get-togethers in the scenic serenity of the Mallorcan inlands. With ample alfresco living and dining areas – including several day beds, poolside sun loungers, a covered dining table that comfortably seats the entire group and a built-in barbecue, you're well catered for when it comes to outdoor living.

Inside, you'll immediately notice the wood-beamed ceilings, tiled flooring and all-white stone walls that shape the space as a whole, while the homespun furnishings create typical, minimalist interiors. But summer in the Balearics is best lived outside and days begin with a light breakfast under the pergola, before swimming a few leisurely laps of the crystal-clear pool. Pick out a lounger to while away the hours, and when lunchtime beckons,  grill fresh produce on the barbecue and break open a bottle of local wine. 

While you could easily spend your entire time basking in the Mediterranean sun at home, we recommend you go out and explore the nearby village, just a half-hour walk or a fifteen-minute cycle from the finca. Secluded yet conveniently located, Alcúdia Beach is also just thirty minutes by car, so you can enjoy relaxing days along the coast – if you can ever peel yourself away from this heavenly oasis, that is.

Halfway between Palma and Port d'Alcúdia, this rustic villa is a quintessentially Mallorcan escape. You'll appreciate the peace and quiet that comes with the rural setting, and the mountain views in the distance make a postcard-worthy backdrop for your holidays.

The inside is warm and inviting – there's a roomy living area, comfortable bedrooms and even a ping-pong table. But, with the shining sun and blue skies waiting outside, you'll surely spend your days outdoors. In the mornings, pad out to the terrace and enjoy a cup of coffee on the cosy outdoor sofas and bask in the fresh air. Make your way down to the sun-drenched garden for an afternoon spent swimming in the private pool, snoozing on the lounge chairs and snacking on grilled meals whipped up on the barbecue. Known for its leather-making workshop, wine cellars housing local restaurants, and weekly market, it's a charming village that has all you need. Fancy a day trip? Buzzing Palma is about a twenty-five-minute drive away, or if you're keen on the sea, Port d'Alcúdia and the island's northern beaches are about half an hour by car.
