Located on the outskirts of Cala d'Or, this functional villa is an ideal base for discovering Mallorca’s southeast coast. While the interiors could do with a refresh, the place is plenty comfortable and well-appointed. We think most of your time will be spent outside in a sunny spot by the pool or in the shade of the furnished terrace. If you need to pick up bits for the barbecue, there’s a supermarket a five-minute walk away. Most importantly, you’re around a fifteen-minute walk from Petita Beach.

This idyllic villa is the perfect place to gather for some Balearic bliss. It's based in the easy-going resort of Cala D’Or, just a stone’s throw from golden beaches, and you can park the car at the start of the holiday and leave it there till it’s time to go home. Interiors hit that sweet spot between traditional Mallorcan and contemporary design, with terracotta floors and antique beds contrasting with a high-gloss kitchen and Hans Wegner dining chairs. Not only will you be able to top up your tan by the pool, but the garden boasts direct access to a secluded bay, perfect for days of sun, surf, and sand. The aquamarine theme continues indoors – look out for the splashes of blue on the ground floor – but don’t expect any showstopping design features here. Instead, you’ll find a simply decorated interior with six near identical bedrooms for getting some well-deserved shuteye. The only problem will be deciding who gets the room with the sun terrace…

It’s also just a ten-minute walk to the restaurants, bars and shops of Cala D’Or, with golf courses and beautiful coves within driving distance. The rooms are basic and the outdoor space may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility, but the location is ideal for those looking to spend their days adventuring along the coast.

This breathtakingly beautiful villa is the perfect place to call home during a trip to the south of Mallorca. Just a few minutes away from the water's edge, in the town of Cala d'Or, it's ideal for groups of friends or families who want to embrace island life. 

The traditional white exterior gives way to a gorgeous, tranquil living space. With plenty of comfy sofas and a collection of local artworks, it's a true sanctuary where you can kick back and relax. Outside, there's a grassy area where the kids can play, and a sparkling swimming pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip after a sunbathing session. When you get hungry you can fire up the grill, and serve up a delicious feast outside on the patio as the sun goes down. 

A five-minute walk will bring you to Playa Cala Gran, a sandy cove where you can snorkel or even rent a little paddle boat. Nature lovers can visit Parc natural de Mondragó to hike through the gorgeous landscapes and even do some birdwatching. And, if a dose of culture is more your kind of thing, then the capital city of Palma is under an hour away, where you'll find plenty of fascinating history.

With some homes it's hard to know where to start, but with this place in Cala d'Or there's a very obvious beginning point. The beach. Set so close to the gorgeous Cala Petita that all you have to do is stroll down the garden path and step out of the gate to feel the warm sand between toes, it overlooks this pretty little inlet – the crystal-clear water constantly tempting you from below. With one of the best beach views we've seen, this beautiful spot is one of our favourites. 

Screened from its neighbours by lush hedges and fragrant pine trees, you'll feel tucked away here, with a fabulous view from the private terrace. The home itself is as pretty as a picture, with green shutters and a traditional covered porch. Inside, high ceilings, all-white walls and plenty of curves and arches provide the backdrop, while comfy, stylish furnishings and nautical artwork make for a homey feel. The living room is dominated by a gorgeous fireplace and there's a covered dining space with huge doors opening to the sunny terrace. Cooking at home will be a pleasure in the well kitted-out kitchen, but it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearby shops and restaurants.

Perfect for a family or a great choice for a multigenerational stay, two rooms are well suited to children, with enough bathrooms to prevent any queues for the shower. And if you're the kind of person who likes to begin the day with a swim, nothing could be more invigorating than a sea dip before breakfast.

This farmhouse has been renovated in such a way that it has retained its unique rural character while still getting to call itself a holiday home fit for the twenty-first century. The cellars double up as event spaces, with moody backlighting and a team who can bring the place to life. The team are also on hand if you want to organise an outside party, with different packages available. For those who fancy the DIY approach, two barbecues are ready for evening feasts. After dinner, let the views from the rooftop terrace do the entertaining with drinks as the sun sets over the ocean.

Surrounded by a hectare of natural vegetation, this Mallorcan villa pays homage to the landscape – that much is clear from the number of vantage points. As for location, this might be the golfer's dream, with Vall D’or golf course only meters away. The nearest village, Portocolom, with fishing boats, barges and a lighthouse, is less than a five-minute drive away, and you'll also find the blue flag beach of Cala Marcal nearby.

A paradise on paradise, it won't be a mystery why this home caught our eye. With several fantastic places to catch the sun, including by the large pool and on one of the terrace areas, this home is the perfect escape for a group of friends or an extended family. With an ensuite for every room and all that space, you won't encroach on one another, while still enjoying ample opportunity to come together to dine and connect. We especially like the shaded al fresco area and the Mediterranean garden. You're also a short drive away from the beach – perfect for a day trip.

You’ll find this villa situated in Portocolom, just a short walk from two sandy coves and a simple beach bar. Amenities like shops, a chemist and restaurants cluster around the main harbour, around 2 kilometres away. The home itself is simple in style but comfortable enough for a long stay. If you have the little ones in tow, there are retractable gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs and the swimming pool can be fenced. We loved the terrace for alfresco dining and the balcony was our favourite spot for a sundowner.

Occupying a privileged spot on the cliffs of Cala Murada, this is the ideal setting for a refreshing coastal escape. And while this all sounds like the perfect adults-only escape, it’s also a great option for families with child-friendly amenities available on request and the nearest beach just a short walk away.

You can’t forget your coastal location with the nautical theme that runs through this home, a distinct nod, perhaps, to Portocolom lighthouse which forms part of your daily view. This villa is everything we want from a place in the southeast of Mallorca. Step-free access and three downstairs bedrooms mean it’s suitable for those with limited mobility, while the upstairs bedroom has its own en-suite and balcony – perfect for those who’d like some privacy. You’ll notice holiday knick-knacks dotted about, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we think they’re charming. It’s the outside space that really steals the show – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool and summer kitchen. Most importantly, there’s a sandy beach 700 metres away and Caló del Moro is easily reached by car.

Outdoor living is easy at this family villa, set in quiet countryside on the outskirts of the popular Cala d’Or resort. With a private pool, Jacuzzi, BBQ area, dining table and plenty of seating options, most alfresco options are covered. The four ensuite bedroom all have countryside views and the master suite boasts panoramic sea views from its private terrace. The villa is set back from the road so while you’ll have easy access for exploring the island by car, you’ll still enjoy a feeling of seclusion in the lawned garden.

This traditional villa boasts a private swimming pool surrounded by a pretty garden, yet it's only a short walk from one of Mallorca's nicest cove beaches. Just ten minutes on foot from Cala Sa Nau and a five-minute drive from Cala d'Or, you couldn't ask for a better spot to explore the island – but when you're not out and about, there's plenty to enjoy back home, too. We're talking sun-kissed terraces, a built-in barbecue and plenty of spots to sprawl out in the rays. The rustic interiors won't appeal to everyone – in particular, the bathrooms are somewhat dated – but the single-level layout will suit guests who struggle with stairs.

A Touch of Serenity

Situated in the sought-after Sa Punta area of Portocolom, this villa has a private pool surrounded by pine trees, as well as countryside and sea views. Relax in a hammock with a book or dine in the shade of the covered terrace. There’s table tennis for the family to enjoy, too. Inside is traditional in style, but business travellers will appreciate the desk area in one of the bedrooms. Out and about, you’ll find a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops in Portocolom, as well as pretty beaches such as Cala Marcal, which lies to the south of the marina.

If you happen to be a golf lover, this home makes a great choice thanks to its proximity to Golf Vall d’Or. It’s also just a short drive to Portocolom, with the island’s beautiful beaches also within easy reach. And while there’s plenty to explore in the surroundings, this home offers a simple setting to relax and unwind. There’s a private pool, garden and terrace with views stretching far across the coast. Inside, the rooms are traditional and a little dated, but we think most of your time will be spent outdoors – savouring the magic of island living.

Restaurants, shops, and bars are a bit further – you'll need to hop in the car, but they're just a short drive away. It's on the first floor, so prepare to climb some stairs, and since it's part of an apartment complex, you're likely to hear and see your neighbours. For a family getaway in Mallorca, it's a good choice.

It’s rare that you can walk from a country farmhouse to the beach, but this Mallorcan villa has it all. Located in the beautiful Cala Mondragó, you’ll be surrounded by the untouched nature of Mallorca. Just a few minutes walk from some of the most prestigious beaches on the east coast, you could easily go without a car here, though we do recommend renting one if you’re keen to explore other resorts like Cala D'or.
