This breathtakingly beautiful villa is the perfect place to call home during a trip to the south of Mallorca. Just a few minutes away from the water's edge, in the town of Cala d'Or, it's ideal for groups of friends or families who want to embrace island life. 

The traditional white exterior gives way to a gorgeous, tranquil living space. With plenty of comfy sofas and a collection of local artworks, it's a true sanctuary where you can kick back and relax. Outside, there's a grassy area where the kids can play, and a sparkling swimming pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip after a sunbathing session. When you get hungry you can fire up the grill, and serve up a delicious feast outside on the patio as the sun goes down. 

A five-minute walk will bring you to Playa Cala Gran, a sandy cove where you can snorkel or even rent a little paddle boat. Nature lovers can visit Parc natural de Mondragó to hike through the gorgeous landscapes and even do some birdwatching. And, if a dose of culture is more your kind of thing, then the capital city of Palma is under an hour away, where you'll find plenty of fascinating history.

Not only will you be able to top up your tan by the pool, but the garden boasts direct access to a secluded bay, perfect for days of sun, surf, and sand. This contemporary villa has bagged a fantastic location, with everything you could want on your holiday within walking distance. Cala d’Or town centre, with its pedestrianised streets, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, is in one direction and the chic marina with its fashionable quayside is in the other. You’ve also got a choice of beaches, with two sandy coves just a short stroll away. The villa itself boasts a large pool with loungers, an alfresco dining area and a balcony with marina views.

With some homes it's hard to know where to start, but with this place in Cala d'Or there's a very obvious beginning point. The beach. Set so close to the gorgeous Cala Petita that all you have to do is stroll down the garden path and step out of the gate to feel the warm sand between toes, it overlooks this pretty little inlet – the crystal-clear water constantly tempting you from below. With one of the best beach views we've seen, this beautiful spot is one of our favourites. 

Screened from its neighbours by lush hedges and fragrant pine trees, you'll feel tucked away here, with a fabulous view from the private terrace. The home itself is as pretty as a picture, with green shutters and a traditional covered porch. Inside, high ceilings, all-white walls and plenty of curves and arches provide the backdrop, while comfy, stylish furnishings and nautical artwork make for a homey feel. The living room is dominated by a gorgeous fireplace and there's a covered dining space with huge doors opening to the sunny terrace. Cooking at home will be a pleasure in the well kitted-out kitchen, but it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearby shops and restaurants.

Perfect for a family or a great choice for a multigenerational stay, two rooms are well suited to children, with enough bathrooms to prevent any queues for the shower. It's based in the easy-going resort of Cala D’Or, just a stone’s throw from golden beaches, and you can park the car at the start of the holiday and leave it there till it’s time to go home. Interiors hit that sweet spot between traditional Mallorcan and contemporary design, with terracotta floors and antique beds contrasting with a high-gloss kitchen and Hans Wegner dining chairs. Outside, there’s a unique curvy pool and a multitude of terraced spots to sit with a drink or a morning coffee. Then head to the beach or spend leisurely hours lounging in the sunshine before cooling off in the waters of your private swimming pool. When you need a moment of shade, why not sit back with a good book on the comfortable outdoor seating under the shaded pergola?

In the evening, sliding doors connect the kitchen to a small porch with a dining table creating the perfect area to enjoy a meal of Spanish tapas. Or, take advantage of the barbecue to grill your pinchos. We would love to end our days here with a glass of wine and some relaxing after-dinner chat with a view of the pool – or as the Spanish call it, Sobremesa.

Located on the outskirts of Cala d'Or, this functional villa is an ideal base for discovering Mallorca’s southeast coast. While the interiors could do with a refresh, the place is plenty comfortable and well-appointed. We think most of your time will be spent outside in a sunny spot by the pool or in the shade of the furnished terrace. If you need to pick up bits for the barbecue, there’s a supermarket a five-minute walk away. Most importantly, you’re around a fifteen-minute walk from Petita Beach.

The rooms are basic and the outdoor space may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility, but the location is ideal for those looking to spend their days adventuring along the coast.

For those who enjoy spending their time on the water, there’s mooring for a 25-metre yacht here – a unique offering on the island – but if sailing’s not your thing, there’s plenty to entertain you at this home. Built in the 14th century, this magnificent finca has seen more than a few celebrations. And while its old stone walls and wooden beams are just as they were, the home's refreshed interiors are ready to be the blank canvas for you to create your own memories. Spread across different wings, separate buildings, three floors and endless rooms, this place has thought of pretty much everything. Nestled on the outskirts of Portocolom, this apartment is 500 metres from Arenal dets Ases beach. Restaurants, shops, and bars are a bit further – you'll need to hop in the car, but they're just a short drive away. Alongside the communal pool, the private garden and balcony are ideal for chilling out, Spanish style. It's on the first floor, so prepare to climb some stairs, and since it's part of an apartment complex, you're likely to hear and see your neighbours. For a family getaway in Mallorca, it's a good choice.

A paradise on paradise, it won't be a mystery why this home caught our eye. With several fantastic places to catch the sun, including by the large pool and on one of the terrace areas, this home is the perfect escape for a group of friends or an extended family. With an ensuite for every room and all that space, you won't encroach on one another, while still enjoying ample opportunity to come together to dine and connect. We especially like the shaded al fresco area and the Mediterranean garden. You're also a short drive away from the beach – perfect for a day trip.

Cloaked in ancient dry stone, this classic village home feels like it's from a storybook. We love how the light bounces off the local stone, permeating a beige hue, reminiscent of a hot Mallorcan summer. Speaking of, your suntrap of a patio is perfect for lying out in the morning sun, coffee in one hand and a book in another. 

When you're ready to explore, enjoy strolling leisurely through the historic town of Santanyí, a place that's strongly held onto its Mallorcan charm. There are certainly fewer crowds to wade through. That's except for Saturday, which is the day a bustling market is held. It's peaceful and traditional whilst offering a good dose of culture, art, and plenty of places to eat. It's actually considered a food lover's paradise, and your host is full of recommendations for the very best places to eat. 

This part of the island also boasts dramatic cliffs which have formed secret coves to have all to yourself. And while they might not be on your maps app, the locals will be happy to help you find them. But sometimes, when the sun is beating down, you just want a stretch of soft sand to spend the day. Set back from a green natural park lies S'Amarador and Cala Mondragó – think crystal clear waters and sparkling white sand, just a seventeen or twenty-three-minute drive away. And if you want to experience a quaint Mallorcan fishing village, Cala Figuera is just eight minutes by car. Tuck in to freshly caught seafood while looking out at the glittering Mediterranean sea.

The rustic interiors won't appeal to everyone – in particular, the bathrooms are somewhat dated – but the single-level layout will suit guests who struggle with stairs.

This villa is everything we want from a place in the southeast of Mallorca. Step-free access and three downstairs bedrooms mean it’s suitable for those with limited mobility, while the upstairs bedroom has its own en-suite and balcony – perfect for those who’d like some privacy. You’ll notice holiday knick-knacks dotted about, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we think they’re charming. It’s the outside space that really steals the show – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool and summer kitchen. Most importantly, there’s a sandy beach 700 metres away and Caló del Moro is easily reached by car.

Situated in the pretty Spanish town of Cala Figuera, this country house is a great choice for a large group of friends or family. The home is spread over two floors and includes a spacious open-plan kitchen where you can get a real flavour of the local produce. There's a sauna and a jacuzzi to unwind in, as well as a private swimming pool in the well-tended gardens surrounding this home. We love the large terrace area complete with BBQ facilities – fire it up for some alfresco dining in the afternoon. We suggest a car for ease if you want to explore the area – the home is five miles from the gold stone architecture of Santanyí city.

From here, you can walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, plus it’s just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Cala D’Or. Your host can organise a range of extras for little ones and while the rooms are basic, we think you’ll be spending most of your time in the swimming pool or lounging on the terrace.

It’s rare that you can walk from a country farmhouse to the beach, but this Mallorcan villa has it all. Located in the beautiful Cala Mondragó, you’ll be surrounded by the untouched nature of Mallorca. Just a few minutes walk from some of the most prestigious beaches on the east coast, you could easily go without a car here, though we do recommend renting one if you’re keen to explore other resorts like Cala D'or. At home, you’ll have a private pool, barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating from which to soak up the glorious sunshine.

Mallorcan village life is on your doorstep at this stone-clad country home set just a short walk from Calonge's traditional restaurants, bakery and shops. Dating back to the 17th century, the villa's interiors are characterful, albeit dated in parts. But we'll let that slide with such magnificent enclosed grounds and a private saltwater infinity pool outside. Ready to break up pool days? Cala d'Or, with its elegant marina and idyllic beaches and coves, is just a five-minute drive, and the Vall d'Or golf course is also close by. Now, how's that for a location?
