This villa is everything we want from a place in the southeast of Mallorca. Step-free access and three downstairs bedrooms mean it’s suitable for those with limited mobility, while the upstairs bedroom has its own en-suite and balcony – perfect for those who’d like some privacy. You’ll notice holiday knick-knacks dotted about, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we think they’re charming. It’s the outside space that really steals the show – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool and summer kitchen. Most importantly, there’s a sandy beach 700 metres away and Caló del Moro is easily reached by car.

The kitchen and bathrooms are a little dated and the decor might not be to everyone's taste, but the garden is ideal for gathering in the evening for late-night drinks, and there's a children's playhouse for little ones. We think you'll want a car here to get the most out of your stay – one of the island's picturesque coves is just a short walk from your doorstep, while the colourful town of Santanyí is just a short drive away with its local restaurants and weekly markets.

With some homes it's hard to know where to start, but with this place in Cala d'Or there's a very obvious beginning point. The beach. Set so close to the gorgeous Cala Petita that all you have to do is stroll down the garden path and step out of the gate to feel the warm sand between toes, it overlooks this pretty little inlet – the crystal-clear water constantly tempting you from below. With one of the best beach views we've seen, this beautiful spot is one of our favourites. 

Screened from its neighbours by lush hedges and fragrant pine trees, you'll feel tucked away here, with a fabulous view from the private terrace. The home itself is as pretty as a picture, with green shutters and a traditional covered porch. Inside, high ceilings, all-white walls and plenty of curves and arches provide the backdrop, while comfy, stylish furnishings and nautical artwork make for a homey feel. The living room is dominated by a gorgeous fireplace and there's a covered dining space with huge doors opening to the sunny terrace. Cooking at home will be a pleasure in the well kitted-out kitchen, but it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearby shops and restaurants.

Perfect for a family or a great choice for a multigenerational stay, two rooms are well suited to children, with enough bathrooms to prevent any queues for the shower. And if you're the kind of person who likes to begin the day with a swim, nothing could be more invigorating than a sea dip before breakfast.

This breathtakingly beautiful villa is the perfect place to call home during a trip to the south of Mallorca. Just a few minutes away from the water's edge, in the town of Cala d'Or, it's ideal for groups of friends or families who want to embrace island life. 

The traditional white exterior gives way to a gorgeous, tranquil living space. With plenty of comfy sofas and a collection of local artworks, it's a true sanctuary where you can kick back and relax. Outside, there's a grassy area where the kids can play, and a sparkling swimming pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip after a sunbathing session. When you get hungry you can fire up the grill, and serve up a delicious feast outside on the patio as the sun goes down. 

A five-minute walk will bring you to Playa Cala Gran, a sandy cove where you can snorkel or even rent a little paddle boat. Nature lovers can visit Parc natural de Mondragó to hike through the gorgeous landscapes and even do some birdwatching. And, if a dose of culture is more your kind of thing, then the capital city of Palma is under an hour away, where you'll find plenty of fascinating history.

A paradise on paradise, it won't be a mystery why this home caught our eye. With several fantastic places to catch the sun, including by the large pool and on one of the terrace areas, this home is the perfect escape for a group of friends or an extended family. With an ensuite for every room and all that space, you won't encroach on one another, while still enjoying ample opportunity to come together to dine and connect. We especially like the shaded al fresco area and the Mediterranean garden. You're also a short drive away from the beach – perfect for a day trip.

Surrounded by a hectare of natural vegetation, this Mallorcan villa pays homage to the landscape – that much is clear from the number of vantage points. There's a balcony and a sunny terrace with alfresco dining space and a private pool to enjoy, while kids will especially love the sprawling garden. It's a bit traditional inside, but each bedroom boasts an en-suite, and all things considered, it's rather cosy. As for location, this might be the golfer's dream, with Vall D’or golf course only meters away. The nearest village, Portocolom, with fishing boats, barges and a lighthouse, is less than a five-minute drive away, and you'll also find the blue flag beach of Cala Marcal nearby.

With marina views and modern decor, this bright apartment in the resort town of Portocolom is an ideal base for those looking for a slice of the Mallorcan good life. 

Slide open the open-plan living area’s glass doors and step out onto the private balcony – the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening sundowner while watching the yachts sail in and out of the marina. This is also the ideal place to tuck into some homemade tapas treats cooked up in the sleek kitchen, or alternatively, gather around the living area’s dining table for a celebratory feast to the gentle sound of the waves just outside. 

The three pared-back bedrooms are wonderfully comfortable and the main bedroom gives you further access to the balcony. Factor in the luxurious bathrooms and you’ve got everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing stay. 

Outside of your home, walk along the seafront just outside and explore the many restaurants lining the water’s edge. You’re also a five-minute drive (or a twenty-five minute walk) from sandy Cala Marçal, while Arenal de Ases beach is a twenty-minute stroll from your door.

Situated in sleepy Portopetro, this bayfront home is a sun worshipper’s dream come true. Not only will you be able to top up your tan by the pool, but the garden boasts direct access to a secluded bay, perfect for days of sun, surf, and sand. The aquamarine theme continues indoors – look out for the splashes of blue on the ground floor – but don’t expect any showstopping design features here. Instead, you’ll find a simply decorated interior with six near identical bedrooms for getting some well-deserved shuteye. The only problem will be deciding who gets the room with the sun terrace…

It’s rare that you can walk from a country farmhouse to the beach, but this Mallorcan villa has it all. Located in the beautiful Cala Mondragó, you’ll be surrounded by the untouched nature of Mallorca. Just a few minutes walk from some of the most prestigious beaches on the east coast, you could easily go without a car here, though we do recommend renting one if you’re keen to explore other resorts like Cala D'or. At home, you’ll have a private pool, barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating from which to soak up the glorious sunshine.

From here, you'll be just 270 metres away from the turquoise shores of Cala d'Or Beach and its bars and restaurants, as well as walking distance from the likes of Cala Esmeralda, Cala Ferrera, Cala Serena and Cala Gran. 



Water Reflections

The seaside town of Sa Ràpita is one of Mallorca’s gems. The pace is slightly slower than in nearby Palma – only forty minutes down the road – but there’s still plenty to keep you entertained. 

This charming holiday home has everything you need to make the most of your holiday. The interiors are stylish and spacious, with two double bedrooms and a sweet third room ideal for little ones – they’ll love the bunk bed. The master suite has its own private lounge and balcony, making it a bit of a haven for those travelling with children. After the kids have gone to bed, relax with a beer on the balcony and count the stars – it’s your holiday too, after all. 

Stone accent walls tie the interior decor to the outside space, which boasts an inviting swimming pool, lush lawn and a shaded terrace perfect for a sunset cocktail hour. 

You might take a day trip to explore Palma. A visit to the magnificent cathedral is well worth the journey alone, and it’s a gorgeous city to stroll around with an ice cream. Closer to home, Sa Ràpita’s beach is right on your doorstep, so you can build sandcastles and bob around in the sea. The beautiful marina is less than a ten-minute walk from the villa, and the sailing club has a bar with stunning views – it’s a lovely way to round off a day in the sun.

Located on the outskirts of Cala d'Or, this functional villa is an ideal base for discovering Mallorca’s southeast coast. While the interiors could do with a refresh, the place is plenty comfortable and well-appointed. We think most of your time will be spent outside in a sunny spot by the pool or in the shade of the furnished terrace. If you need to pick up bits for the barbecue, there’s a supermarket a five-minute walk away. Most importantly, you’re around a fifteen-minute walk from Petita Beach.

Found a short drive away from Santanyi, this villa is a welcome break from the hustle of bigger cities. Because it's a little more traditional – which you'll be able to spot in the beamed ceilings, exposed brick walls and decorative touches – it might feel a little dated, but it's comfortable and pretty. The magic happens outside, where you can unwind poolside or pick up the pace on the private tennis court – the swing set is a bonus for kids. The outdoor kitchen with a stone-built barbecue makes alfresco dining easy, but restaurants lie towards Cas Concos and the charming Santanyi if you'd rather not cook. 

See You on the Court

This contemporary villa has bagged a fantastic location, with everything you could want on your holiday within walking distance. Cala d’Or town centre, with its pedestrianised streets, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, is in one direction and the chic marina with its fashionable quayside is in the other. You’ve also got a choice of beaches, with two sandy coves just a short stroll away. The villa itself boasts a large pool with loungers, an alfresco dining area and a balcony with marina views.

Nestled on the outskirts of Portocolom, this apartment is 500 metres from Arenal dets Ases beach. Restaurants, shops, and bars are a bit further – you'll need to hop in the car, but they're just a short drive away. Alongside the communal pool, the private garden and balcony are ideal for chilling out, Spanish style. It's on the first floor, so prepare to climb some stairs, and since it's part of an apartment complex, you're likely to hear and see your neighbours. For a family getaway in Mallorca, it's a good choice.

This farmhouse has been renovated in such a way that it has retained its unique rural character while still getting to call itself a holiday home fit for the twenty-first century. It’s also just a ten-minute walk to the restaurants, bars and shops of Cala D’Or, with golf courses and beautiful coves within driving distance. The rooms are basic and the outdoor space may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility, but the location is ideal for those looking to spend their days adventuring along the coast.
