When you think of Mallorca, you might not think of mountains – but the Serra de Tramuntana is a range that forms the backbone of the island. It's here, in a secluded spot surrounded by a forest of oak trees, that you'll find this handsome villa. It has been recently renovated, but still retains the rustic finca spirit, which you'll find reflected in the archways and wooden beams. 

The inside is perfectly polished, with a smart marble kitchen and impressive spiral staircase along with plenty of artistic touches. However it's the outside space that will really take your breath away. Soak up the sun on one of the terraces, before plunging into the sparkling swimming pool to cool off, as you admire the views across the hills. 

It's the perfect hideaway but it’s easy enough to go exploring if you fancy it. You can walk into Galilea in five minutes – it’s a sleepy little village with heaps of charm and a couple of bars and restaurants. If you want to experience Mallorca as the locals do, this is a great place to start. For more action, hop in the car and discover mountain villages and secret coves, or head off on bikes with a picnic. This is a great part of Mallorca for trekking, climbing and cycling. The beach at Cala Fornells is a thirty-two-minute drive, and you can be in Palma in thirty-nine minutes.

Perched on an eighty-metre cliff in La Mola, Andratx, this home is the epitome of luxury. Chic and contemporary interiors sit alongside sun-kissed terraces, alfresco dining spots and a private infinity pool. Add to that an indoor and outdoor cinema, and you’ll never be short of things to do. The serene bedrooms all boast en-suites and two also enjoy private terraces, so a cosy spot for some quiet time is never far away. When you’re keen to venture out, Cala Marmassen beach is within walking distance, while Port d'Andratx is a scenic five-minute drive – if you can tear yourself away from the villa, that is.

Spacious and homely, it’s impossible not to relax in this villa, which is an ideal base for a family or group of friends on a Spanish stay. As much as the indoors have a tranquil vibe, the outdoor space is the cherry on the cake for us. We love the private pool, opportunities for an alfresco meal, and sun-kissed terraces. If the views tempt you away from home, head to Port d' Andratx where the harbour and a range of authentic eateries await.

With a privileged setting right on Cala Deià, this home has breathtaking sea and mountain vistas. Walk down the private path to the beach 50 metres away, relax by the crystal clear waters, and then head for a sublime seafood lunch at one of two restaurants. Or let your host, Jordi, charter a yacht or organise helicopter flights to see more of the island.

Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.






Deià Waters

One glance at the harbour views and you'll see why this former fisherman's cottage caught our eye. It's in the heart of Port d'Andratx, with a sweeping terrace that overlooks the sea. The scenery is unbeatable whether you're enjoying an alfresco breakfast or panoramic sundowners. There's even an ice cream shop downstairs for a mid-afternoon treat. We think the interiors are a touch traditional, but the apartment offers all the essential amenities. Just keep in mind that it can be a little noisy, as it's smack-dab in the centre of town.

Halcyon Harbours

With a breathtaking setting and a private pool, this home delivers an irresistible island escape. Gazing out across the mountains, the terraces are perfectly positioned for blissful days at home. There’s also a barbecue and a sound system – setting the tone for total relaxation. It’s worth noting this home does not have air conditioning, but fans are provided and the elevated location means there is often a sea breeze. Private parking is available for one car and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. The centre of Deià is within easy reach, while the nearest beaches are a short drive away. 

Majorcan Muse

With a view that cries out for an infinity pool, this hillside villa gets its wish. When your fingers start getting pruney from hanging out at the edge of the water, jump in the outdoor shower and dry out on the sun loungers and shaded sofas. There's a lovely terrace for an evening drink and a barbecue, so you can cook dinner without losing sight of the mountains. This villa feels nicely secluded, despite being a two-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in the enchanting village centre of Deià. 

Inside, there'll be no arguing over bathrooms – each bedroom, two of which have a sea view, has its own en-suite. We love the walk-in showers and the walk-in closet has enough space for your entire wardrobe – there's no need to live out of your suitcase here. If there's someone in your party that needs to stay connected or have a quiet place to work, one of the bedrooms affords them a comfortable office nook. There's an extra room on the second floor adjoining a laundry room, with a small bathroom and a kitchen if you need extra space. Get outside for a mountain hike, take advantage of the well-equipped gym, or siesta all day – this setting will leave you refreshed and reinvigorated.

Occupying a privileged spot in the heart of Deià, this 300 year old home welcomes you to an unforgettable island escape. Outside, you can stroll to cafes and restaurants, while the nearest beaches are a short drive away. It’s worth noting there is no private parking available here, but street-parking is available. You’ll also have access to a private salt water pool, a serene garden and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue. Inside, the rooms are elegant, calm and well suited to families. There is also a piano in the second sitting room – perfect for music lovers.

Where do we start with this beautiful villa in Deià? We love the pool area with its serene views of the mountains. The vistas are particularly fine from the roof terrace, and there are two alfresco dining areas. Inside, there’s a chef's kitchen, a media room, four-poster beds, and sumptuous en-suites. In fact, the villa boasts four en-suite bedrooms within the main house, while a separate guest house with an additional double bedroom and bathroom offers privacy. Can it get any better?
