This villa is all about relaxing. From the sauna and Jacuzzi to the comfy outdoor lounge and sumptuous bedrooms, the focus here is on unwinding and easing into a slower pace of life. We love the outside space, with its infinity pool and quiet corners, but the interior is stylish and comfortable too. There’s plenty of action to be had in town, and you’re close to golf courses too, so we recommend hiring a car unless you’re really keen on winding down.

When you think of Mallorca, you might not think of mountains – but the Serra de Tramuntana is a range that forms the backbone of the island. It's here, in a secluded spot surrounded by a forest of oak trees, that you'll find this handsome villa. It has been recently renovated, but still retains the rustic finca spirit, which you'll find reflected in the archways and wooden beams. 

The inside is perfectly polished, with a smart marble kitchen and impressive spiral staircase along with plenty of artistic touches. However it's the outside space that will really take your breath away. Soak up the sun on one of the terraces, before plunging into the sparkling swimming pool to cool off, as you admire the views across the hills. 

It's the perfect hideaway but it’s easy enough to go exploring if you fancy it. You can walk into Galilea in five minutes – it’s a sleepy little village with heaps of charm and a couple of bars and restaurants. If you want to experience Mallorca as the locals do, this is a great place to start. For more action, hop in the car and discover mountain villages and secret coves, or head off on bikes with a picnic. This is a great part of Mallorca for trekking, climbing and cycling. The beach at Cala Fornells is a thirty-two-minute drive, and you can be in Palma in thirty-nine minutes.

Set on the fringes of Banyalbufar, you'll be a twenty-minute walk from the village's namesake pebbly beach. From the green-painted shutters to the exposed stone walls, everything here points to old-world charm, but it's got all the trappings of a contemporary hideaway, too. There's a mezzanine study ideal for remote working, a sleek kitchen, and plenty of spots outside to while away the afternoons, including a private pool and a sea-facing balcony.

In the charming Mallorcan countryside, spend Mediterranean mornings with a cup of coffee in hand and this home's haven of greenery as your scenic backdrop. In fact, the host encourages you to pick fresh tomatoes straight from the fruit trees to enjoy at breakfast each morning.

Inside, our favourite spot is the fireplace alcove – it offers a dreamy ambience and a cosy corner to snuggle up after days soaking up the outdoors, either in the mountains or on the beach. 

Nestled in the perfect spot for hiking, cycling and beach holidays, you'll find this home in S’Arraco (right between Andratx and San Telmo) and overlooking the S'Arraco Tramuntana Mountains. Less than a five-minute drive away, the local village centre offers shops and restaurants to explore. Meanwhile, San Telmo and Port d’Andratx are the nearest hotspots if you're looking to hit the beach. There are also regular ferry trips to the protected natural park of Dragonera, where you can arrange to go diving or hiking on the breathtaking Dragonera Island.

Mediterranean Mornings 

Laidback furnishings and natural tones are the hallmarks of this homely villa. Located in a traditional neighbourhood, the traditional house is just a ten-minute drive from the ancient town of Andratx – holidaymakers seeking a quiet island escape need look no further. 

While the rustic living room and bright kitchen are comfortable and inviting, we think you’ll be spending most of your time outside on the patio. Plate up Spanish classics at the alfresco dining table as the barbecue sizzles with local produce. Catch some shade under the parasol or position your chair in a sun-drenched spot. 

Later on, jump in the car and pick a beach. You’re a ten-minute drive from both Sant Elm and Port Andratx. Whichever you choose, you’ll be met with soft golden sands, warm Balearic waters and seafront restaurants serving freshly caught fish and Mallorcan delicacies.

Bright and stylish, this villa makes for an excellent base in Mallorca. It’s just outside of Puerto de Andratx, so the shops, cafes and restaurants of the town are a short drive away, but it feels like a real escape. The villa sits on the coast with stunning views of the sea – it’s a holiday haven. 

We love the stylish decor here. Each room is chic and attractive, with windows that flood the space with sunshine. The prominence of windows also means that the glorious coastal views become part of the decor – from waking up to drifting off to sleep, you can look forward to wonderful sea views and clear skies. 

Of course, with such beautiful vistas outside, you’ll probably want to spend as much time as possible in the fresh air. Soak up the sun on a lounger, and slip into the private swimming pool to cool off when the sun is at its most sizzling. Doze in the shade on the terrace, read books, or simply drink in the views while feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. 

In the evening, try your hand at whipping up fresh paella with local seafood. Sit around the table on the terrace and dine beneath the stars, revelling in the tranquillity of this stunning home-from-home. A few days here is good for the soul – you’ll leave feeling oh-so-refreshed.

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

With a privileged setting right on Cala Deià, this home has breathtaking sea and mountain vistas. Walk down the private path to the beach 50 metres away, relax by the crystal clear waters, and then head for a sublime seafood lunch at one of two restaurants. Or let your host, Jordi, charter a yacht or organise helicopter flights to see more of the island.

Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.

Everything about this grand villa shouts high quality and sophistication, and if the crystal-clear private pool isn't enough, it's just a twenty-minute walk to a pebble beach where the water is warm and welcoming. Back at the home, there's a traditional style to the place, with modern furnishings and a sociable layout to the living space. Bold wall art, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and dark wood shutters are the order of the day. The classic kitchen comes well equipped, including all the essentials for families, and every bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom and Bose speaker for that summer playlist. No one will be disappointed by their choice of room, but the first-floor master suite with its sea views is worth claiming if you can. Don your hiking boots and discover the area’s hidden coves or head further afield to some of the island's best-known sights. In the evenings, enjoy meals alfresco on the terrace – we're told the sunset from here is simply amazing.

Spacious and homely, it’s impossible not to relax in this villa, which is an ideal base for a family or group of friends on a Spanish stay. Perched on a cliff just outside of Port Adriano, this impressive home has to be seen to be believed. Boasting an infinity pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, and every amenity you could ask for, this home makes holidays to Mallorca extra special. 

The double bedrooms look out to sea, so you can wake up to the soothing sight of bobbing waves and yachts passing by. This home has been designed to make the most of the superlative views afforded by the cliff-top setting, so you can expect lots of glass – the turquoise of the sea becomes part of the colour palette. 

The villa is just a five-minute drive from Port Adriano, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and the port, of course.
