In the cobbled streets of Fornalutx, meander through the "Most beautiful village in Spain" straight from your front door. Step into this ancient Moorish home through an old door and let yourself be welcomed by an indoor courtyard, perfect for a refreshment before exploring the rest of the house. 

The white-washed nooks and crannies created in the 11th century have been modernised, but, with terracotta tiles, wood beams and honey-brown stone walls it still feels like an old Moorish retreat. Admire the mountains from the fragrant, bougainvillaea-shaded terrace with a barbecue on the go. Cool off in the plunge pool, surrounded by boho loungers. Get your yoga mat out in the studio and project your class on the walls before refreshing under the outdoor rooftop shower. This bean-bag-filled room doubles as a boho cinema pad too.

For the musical in the group, there’s a piano, and a library-style office if you need to catch up on emails. There are plenty of local restaurants for dinner. In the morning, directly access the hiking or cycling trails and creeks in the lush green landscape. Port de Soller and a swim in the ocean is only 15 minutes away by car too.

Welcome to the jungle – or at least, Mallorca's version of it. The craggy backbone of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage status for their untouched beauty – and nestled amongst the peaks and foliage, you'll find the sleepy little village of Fornalutx and this swoon-worthy villa. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Port de Sóller and the beach, this is the perfect spot to soak up the island's traditional atmosphere.

This charming and rather unique place rises up from the lush greenery like an ancient temple – though we doubt many of those featured an enormous indoor pool, a spacious garden for you to bask in the sunshine, and a dining terrace with one of the best views we've ever seen. We're already picturing morning breakfasts on the terrace, afternoon swims in the pool and evening cocktails as the sun goes down over the village.

Inside, it's just as lovely as its backdrop, with period features and antique furniture providing a quintessentially Mallorcan touch. We love the comfortable lounge area, with big sofas all centred around the stone fireplace, as well as the enormous bedrooms with roomy en-suites. But our favourite has to be the double-height dining hall. With its chandelier and ornately-carved table, it's crying out for a formal family meal – come dinnertime, enjoy tapas, a bottle of wine and good conversation as the breeze blows through the French doors.

Set in the village of Sóller, this home feels like a lavish piece of Mallorca's history. From its beamed dining room with long oak tables to the sweeping staircase, it’s all old-world charm in here. An industrial kitchen is the newest part of the building, and will help even the most amateur of chefs whip up an impressive feast. Divided into two buildings (though the annexe requires a fee to use), the home is centred around the main house where most of the bedrooms are found, and each is as stately as the next, with four-poster beds, comfy sofas, and en suites with tiled baths ensuring that everyone feels like royalty. But not even the stunning architecture can compete with the Mother Nature – from the windows to the terraces and balconies, the mountain views are what crowns this place for us. 

Slip on your favourite eveningwear, sweep across the swirling tiled floors, and spend evenings gorging underneath the tree-covered patio. A private pool and sun loungers are on hand for recuperating, while small stone balconies can be found in every corner – perfect for sipping your morning cup of coffee on. 

Should you feel the need to leave the villa, Sóller is a pretty old town with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Perhaps take the chocolate-box train to Port de Sóller for a seafood feast by the harbourside, or into Palma to soak up some Mallorcan history and culture.

It’s not often you find a villa for two, a cosy bolthole in the countryside, with a big private swimming pool and full outdoor kitchen. This traditional stone cottage is ideal for a couple or even a solo traveller looking to make the most of the Balearic sunshine and get away from it all. It’s perched up in the Tramuntana Mountains, where walking trails snake across the landscape. Yet it’s just a fifteen-minute walk (or three-minute drive) into the heart of medieval Fortnalutx town for restaurants, pavement bars and supermarkets.

The outside space took our breath away, with mountain views from every corner and a pristine swimming pool in the centre of the stone terrace. There are plenty of spots to enjoy a barbecue feast from the summer kitchen – the stone seats looking out over the ravine, the plush wicker chairs, or at the stone table beneath the ancient olive tree. Inside, crisp white walls and ink-black iron accents whisper of the old world and there’s a wood-burning stove at the centre of the living room. Books dotted throughout the home can provide an escape from the everyday, and there’s a flatscreen TV if binge-watching your favourite shows is more your thing.

With a privileged setting right on Cala Deià, this home has breathtaking sea and mountain vistas. Walk down the private path to the beach 50 metres away, relax by the crystal clear waters, and then head for a sublime seafood lunch at one of two restaurants. Or let your host, Jordi, charter a yacht or organise helicopter flights to see more of the island.

Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.






Deià Waters

There is something grand and historic about this Mallorcan villa. Not only is it a veritable palace, but it’s just outside the historic heart of Soller, right next to a supermarket and a short stroll from traditional bars, restaurants and the winding streets of the town centre. From Soller, you can take the charming chocolate box tram to Port de Soller for a day at the beach, or head all the way to Palma in the other direction.

In the grounds of the villa, you’ll find Grecian-style columns lining the pool terrace and towering greenery secluding the garden from view. An inviting Roman-style swimming pool takes pride of place, surrounded by a perfectly manicured lawn. The stonework of the patio and an old well add an air of fairytale nostalgia, alongside twisting grapevines covering the iron arbour. Underneath, shaded by vines, you’ve got a plush seating area and dining for the whole group.

Inside, you’ll find a grand dining room with room for up to eighteen. Huge group meals can be cooked in the professional-style kitchen which wouldn’t look out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant in sleek steel and chrome. Dark wood furniture like tea chests and ornately carved dressers give off a sense of grandeur. But it’s the bedrooms that really made us feel like we were in a palace – think four-posters beds and headboards swathed with satin curtains.

There’s also a barbecue and a sound system – setting the tone for total relaxation. It’s worth noting this home does not have air conditioning, but fans are provided and the elevated location means there is often a sea breeze. Private parking is available for one car and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. The centre of Deià is within easy reach, while the nearest beaches are a short drive away.

This enchanting holiday home is the kind you find yourself daydreaming of long after you’ve unpacked your suitcases and returned to your normal life. It’s an oasis tucked away along a cobbled path lined with trees and shrubs, with spectacular views of the mountains that surround the village. 

The house was built over 300 years ago, and the original stone walls keep it deliciously cool even in the hottest part of the day. It's been thoughtfully restored so it combines the original architecture with everything modern holidaymakers might need. You’ll find an attractive blend of local Binissalem stone, Mediterranean wood and woven textiles, which create a cool, calm aesthetic. 

Unusually for buildings in Deia, this home has terraces that enjoy the sun from morning until evening, maximising your time to soak up the rays. There’s plenty of space for reading in the shade as well as for sun-worshippers. A covered dining set with a white stone bench is the perfect spot for alfresco meals and glasses of Spanish wine.

You can stroll into Deia in three minutes to sip coffee or enjoy music in the evenings. Days at the beach are also an easy-breezy affair – it takes ten minutes to drive to gorgeous Cala Deia. You can be back in time to watch the sunset from one of the terraces.

Where do we start with this beautiful villa in Deià? We love the pool area with its serene views of the mountains. The vistas are particularly fine from the roof terrace, and there are two alfresco dining areas. Inside, there’s a chef's kitchen, a media room, four-poster beds, and sumptuous en-suites. In fact, the villa boasts four en-suite bedrooms within the main house, while a separate guest house with an additional double bedroom and bathroom offers privacy. Can it get any better? Well, yes, it can – situated in Deià, known as the millionaires' hideaway, the village is full of chic restaurants and bars we’re sure you’ll love.

Mediterranean Getaway

With a view that cries out for an infinity pool, this hillside villa gets its wish. When your fingers start getting pruney from hanging out at the edge of the water, jump in the outdoor shower and dry out on the sun loungers and shaded sofas. There's a lovely terrace for an evening drink and a barbecue, so you can cook dinner without losing sight of the mountains. This villa feels nicely secluded, despite being a two-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in the enchanting village centre of Deià. 

Inside, there'll be no arguing over bathrooms – each bedroom, two of which have a sea view, has its own en-suite. We love the walk-in showers and the walk-in closet has enough space for your entire wardrobe – there's no need to live out of your suitcase here. If there's someone in your party that needs to stay connected or have a quiet place to work, one of the bedrooms affords them a comfortable office nook. There's an extra room on the second floor adjoining a laundry room, with a small bathroom and a kitchen if you need extra space. Get outside for a mountain hike, take advantage of the well-equipped gym, or siesta all day – this setting will leave you refreshed and reinvigorated.

It’s the sun terrace, swimming pool and amazing mountain views that grab your attention, but this achingly beautiful villa offers a pretty special location too. With the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana as its backdrop, the picture-perfect, typically Mediterranean village of Deià is just a short two-minute stroll away, with its indie shops, galleries, restaurants and tapas bars – an afternoon wandering through the narrow streets will have you feeling like a local in no time. Then, take the thirty-minute walk downhill to the pebble cove of Cala Deià, where you can watch the boats and fishermen bring in their day's catch while enjoying some of the best seafood on the island. Still looking for places to explore? Put on your hiking boots and uncover the paths and ancient mule tracks across the natural landscape behind the villa. This rustic villa is just minutes from the picturesque Cala Deiá, one of Mallorca's prettiest beaches. A hotspot for swimming, this pebble cove is also home to some of the best seafood restaurants on the island. It'll be hard to resist waking up and strolling down to the water, enjoying a dip in the morning sun before making your way home for lunch. Then, in the evenings, walk twenty-five minutes into Deiá's charming centre. Known for its bohemian atmosphere and traditional architecture, you'll find green shuttered houses and narrow lanes flanked by independent boutiques, local art galleries, classic cafes, upmarket eateries and Mallorcan tapas bars.

Back at home, take the relaxing to the next level on the bougainvillaea-draped terrace, sipping vino and nibbling on padron peppers in the sunshine. Just 600m off your doorstep you’ll find the rocky cove of Cala Deià and its two seafront tavernas serving up local delicacies. The villa itself is well-equipped though the style is a little traditional and might not suit those seeking a design-focused space. But what this home lacks in modernity, it makes up for in rural charm – wooden beams, a shaded patio with an alfresco dining area and built-in barbecue, not to mention the pristine pool surrounded by bougainvillaea.

This beautiful villa is in the heart of Caimari in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains. It’s a fabulous holiday home for a peaceful family escape, in an excellent spot for cycling. The garden is spread between different terraces, from which you can admire views of the surrounding landscape. We love the private pool and the Balinese daybeds around it, as well as the pergola with a shaded dining table – there’s a barbecue and fire pit, too. The home is filled with art and sculptures – there’s something to admire at every turn.
