This charming 16th-century finca has been completely renovated into a relaxing holiday home. It’s situated between Pollensa and Puerta Pollensa in Sierra de Tramuntana, so you’ll have mountain views while also being close to beaches, restaurants, and markets. The finca used to be an oil mill and that historic charm has been retained – think classic stone walls and wooden beams. There’s a delightful terrace with a pergola, a great spot for alfresco dining, in addition to a heated swimming pool, where we’d be spending most of our time. You can also look forward to working up a sweat playing petanque and table tennis.

Surrounded by striking mountains and lush green hills, this country house offers the perfect rural retreat in Pollensa. With stone walls, beamed ceilings and wooden window shutters, this villa is brimming with classic "finca" charm. The gem of this home is definitely the garden, which offers not only a private pool, but several terraces. Start your mornings with a coffee under the shade of the pergola, then enjoy a refreshing dip to feel energised for the day ahead.

If you're keen to be by the ocean, the three beaches of Cala San Vicente are within easy distance, and offer fine, golden sand and crystal clear water. We highly recommend a visit to Pollensa town to fully appreciate the area's history and culture. Stroll down the attractive narrow streets to admire the traditional architecture and signs of a fascinating past, then head to the impressive main square, where you can stop at one of the cafes for a cafe con leche.  

While you're in town, pick some up some fresh ingredients then head home to try cooking some local dishes on the barbecue. The outdoor dining table is ideal for alfresco family feasts, surrounded by spectacular scenery. Post-dinner, go up to the balcony with a glass of wine to watch the sun set over the beautiful landscape, or get cosy inside by the fireplace.

We loved nothing more than kicking back with our morning coffee on the yellow and white striped sofa before rustling up a Mediterranean-inspired breakfast in the fully-equipped kitchen. 

Clear your agenda and spend an afternoon lounging on the patio – get stuck into a good book or fire up the barbecue and grill produce picked up from the nearby weekly market. Should a siesta be on the cards, the unfussy bedrooms guarantee a peaceful snooze. 

When you do fancy a change of scenery, drive over to Alcúdia for its warren of narrow streets and centuries-old buildings. Enjoy a glass of something refreshing in a curb-side cafe then make a beeline for the white sands and crystal-clear waters of Alcúdia Beach.

This home caught our eye with its sweeping sea views and fantastic location. From here, it’s just a short drive to the nearest beach, while Puerto Pollensa is less than 3 kilometres away. And while there’s plenty to explore in the surroundings, you’ll find this home provides the perfect setting to relax and unwind. Highlights include the private pool and the upper floor terrace – the ideal spot for sunset drinks. It’s worth noting the decor is a little dated in parts, but this is a great option for those in search of peace, privacy and stunning scenery.

Inside, the traditional style may not be everyone’s cup of tea but there’s plenty of space for eight guests – just bear in mind that two beds are on the mezzanine level, so lack privacy.
