This beautiful villa is in the heart of Caimari in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains. It’s a fabulous holiday home for a peaceful family escape, in an excellent spot for cycling. The garden is spread between different terraces, from which you can admire views of the surrounding landscape. We love the private pool and the Balinese daybeds around it, as well as the pergola with a shaded dining table – there’s a barbecue and fire pit, too. The home is filled with art and sculptures – there’s something to admire at every turn.

Positioned around a postcard-perfect courtyard, this low-rise home has a ‘shoes off’ feel with large terracotta tiles, beamed ceilings, white walls and beautifully built archways. An emerald lawn primed to perfection forms the grounds of this home, while a border of towering palms and lush foliage guarantees privacy. We love the large private pool, with crystalline waters providing an oasis from the Balearic sun. You'll love spending time here, enjoying a refreshing swim before sun-bathing poolside on one of the many lounge chairs. If you fancy a beach day, the soft white sands of Playa de Alcúdia are less than thirty minutes away by car.

It's not just the aqua swimming pool, suntrap terraces surrounded by fruit trees and the abundance of characterful rooms that make this villa such an attractive proposition (although they are pretty good reasons to stay here). There's also the majestic mountain setting, endless stretches of golden sand just a 30-minute drive away, and some of Europe's most scenic cycling routes outside your front door. You know you've found a good thing when you don't have to travel to the Unesco World Heritage Site because you're already surrounded by it. Exploring this stunning corner of Mallorca may have to wait a day or two, though. First, there's a pool-side hammock that needs testing, a BBQ to enjoy, and a log burning fire to curl up by when the night winds down. The well-appointed living areas make entertaining inside a breeze, but we doubt you'll be moving from the alfresco kitchen and dining area in summer. Pick some fresh herbs from the garden for a hefty salad, drizzle some local olive oil, and open a bottle of Spanish wine. Now sit back, and wait for that glorious sunset to roll in.

It’s set on a large plot of land, with trees and shrubs providing privacy and adding to the lush setting. The pool is big enough for you to have a proper swim each morning before the kids take over, splashing about and jumping in. Happily, there’s also a children’s playground, so the little ones will have plenty to keep them entertained – they’ll drift off to sleep each night feeling sun-kissed and content. 

We love the kitchen and dining space at this villa. There’s a barbecue outside, and a kitchen that leads right to the terrace. Open up the doors to blend the indoor and outdoor spaces – grill seafood and meat from the market on the barbecue while you’re whipping up paella and salads in the kitchen. Settle down for a feast accompanied by local wine, and toast your decision to return again next year.

We can spend all day out on the terrace, sipping cocktails on the poolside lounge chairs, playing ping-pong under the pergola and dining alfresco as the sun goes down. Inside, it's a mix of rustic chic and sparkling new, with character touches like exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings set alongside a sleek contemporary kitchen that makes cooking up a storm a breeze. All the spaces are filled with light and the bedrooms are super comfortable – we think a family or group of friends would be more than happy to call this place home.

Alesso

It’s hard to believe that this beautiful home was so recently a dilapidated ruin. The owners, who fell in love with the centuries-old farmhouse and saw its potential, have lovingly restored it. It sits within more than four hectares of land in the Llubi countryside, at the heart of Sa Part Forana, and is one of the most breath-taking holiday homes in the area. 

The history of the home has been respected, so you’ll find heaps of charm and original features – we love the beams and exposed stone walls.
