This lovely villa in Mallorca provides a perfectly tranquil and peaceful escape with amazing views of the forest from your private pool and from the balcony terrace. We would love to start each morning here with a breakfast of café con leche and churros as we admire the view in the early sunshine. Then, of course, take a swim in the cooling waters of the pool and dry off as you lounge in the sun. 

The home is located near Binissalem, a Mallorcan village that is well known for its wine production. There are many wine cellars in the area, so why not go for a wine tasting which can be reached by car within nine minutes? In Binissalem you will also find plenty of other amenities including, supermarkets, bars, and restaurants. 

You can play a round of golf at the course that is just a twenty-five-minute drive away or have a competitive game of paintball – a six-minute drive away from your door. If shopping is more your style, head to the Mallorca Fashion Outlet, which can be reached in seventeen minutes by car. 

If you want to explore the island’s culture and heritage, then there is plenty of that not far from this home. An eighteen-minute drive will get you to Alaró Castle, a ruined fortress in the hills that has existed since 902. Drive fifty-two minutes from this home and you can reach, Salt d’es Freu waterfalls to admire nature’s stunning creation, or explore Port de Pollença – a thirty-four-minute drive away. 

For days on the sandy beach, drive twenty-seven minutes to Puerto d’Alcúdia. Or drive twenty-nine minutes to Palma and see the gothic cathedral, old town, wander the sands of the bay of Palma, or even enjoy the nightlife. 

Dine in one of Palma’s many restaurants, or head home in the evening and cook up some delicious tapas in the kitchen or on the barbecue, and dine alfresco beside the pool with a glass of wine made in Binissalem.

Whip up a sumptuous Mediterranean feast in the modern kitchen, and then round up everyone for a lazy meal in one of the numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas. Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. In part of the gardens you'll be greeted by the resident flock of sheep – feed them a few stalks of grass and they’ll love you to bits. 

If you manage to tear yourself away from this designer retreat, the village of Alaró has grocery stores, restaurants, and a trendy little gallery hosting exhibitions by local artists. The nightlife and beaches of Palma are a thirty-minute drive away. In the evening, wind down in the hot tub while sipping wine and taking in the views of the Alaró Mountains.

Have lunch on the shaded terrace before taking a stroll into the heart of Inca. Stock up on supplies, take holiday photos in front of the beautiful Santa Maria d'Inca, and stop off at a cafe for drinks before returning home with a bag filled with pastries. 

When no one’s looking, slip away to the little bistro table on the balcony and enjoy one of the baked goods with a cup of freshly-brewed coffee. Continue the time-out by reading in the shade, walking the grounds and going for a sunset dip in the pool.

We also like the pool house's outdoor bathroom, while inside the villa itself, there’s a rustic charm to every room. If you tire of swimming in the pool and want to dip your toes in the warm Mediterranean Sea, you'll find several pretty beaches around a twenty-minute drive away.

Beautifully located between the charming villages of Caimari and Selva, with the island’s capital just a thirty-minute drive away, this impressive villa is the ideal place to enjoy the tranquillity of Majorca’s countryside. The Tramuntana mountains attract hikers and cyclists from all over the world, keen to see a side of Mallorca that many tourists never explore. Rural, green and simply stunning, the landscape this home sits in is one of the most beautiful in the world and it's best enjoyed from the roof terrace – where everything is laid out for your viewing pleasure. Set in the pretty village of Caimari, just a thirteen-minute drive from Inca, this townhouse is all about the views. 

Historic stone walls and bottle-green shuttered windows make for a charming, traditional home, and inside it's spacious and comfortable. Put together with a great deal of care, it has a warm, homey feel, with typical terracotta floors, sloping beamed ceilings and plenty of room for a family or group of friends. Aimed at keen cyclists, there's a bike storeroom here and tools to help you maintain them. You'll also spot a fair few bike-themed features around the house and garden – and yes, that really is a vintage motorbike in the dining room.

But this home's most impressive features must be its outside spaces. Built into a hillside, there are stairs up to the terraced garden, where you'll find sunny seating spots and a superb little pool. The views from here are stunning enough but for a real treat head to the roof terrace at sunset with a bottle of wine.

The Bike Shed

A traditional finca-style home is probably the best way to experience Mallorca’s beautiful countryside, and this place ticks all the boxes. It’s surrounded by fruit orchards, crickets click in the cypress trees, and verdant green hills tower on the horizon. The nearest town is Inca, a short drive away, where you’ll find shops for supplies and restaurant and café filled streets.

Live the good life here, plunging into the Roman-style swimming pool when the sun gets too hot, and drying off on a lounger on the wooden deck. There’s nothing but the sound of birds and crickets. The view from the dining table on the shaded terrace is simply sublime. Outside, the stone facade is all traditional finca, and the interior follows suit with wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Dark wood furniture adds an old-world feel and there’s a dedicated office for those that need to work remotely. During the chilly months, there’s a wood-burning stove in the living room, along with books on shelves throughout.
