Your host can also help arrange car rentals, as well as nice extras like private chefs and spa treatments. There are steps leading down to the terrace and pool, so children will need to be supervised here but overall there’s plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together.

Head out to explore and in addition to the nearby beaches, the historic town of Muro, with sandstone buildings, Sunday markets and an old church awaits your arrival, just ten minutes away by car. 

Panes of Light

Situated within the small town of Llubí, this villa was simply made for long sunny afternoons. Out in the back garden, the swimming pool is a welcome spot in which to cool off from the Mediterranean heat and you can dry off on one of the neighbouring loungers or on the terrace's table. As an added bonus, there's also a balcony on which you can take a seat and gaze out over the island's treetops.

The home's large glass doors bring plenty of sunshine inside the home and this natural asset is accentuated by the bright white walls and shiny wood flooring. There's a minimalist approach to furnishing and decoration, which has been executed really rather well. A big perk we have to mention is the private gym, which gives you no excuse not to keep up with your fitness regimen on your travels.

A short walk from the house, you'll find a small choice of restaurants and shops, but you'll find more in larger towns nearby, including Sineu and Inca. When it comes to outdoor excursions, you have two options – explore the hills and hiking routes in Mallorca's interior or drive over to the beach. Of course, you could simply stay put and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with this villa's tranquil location. 

Mallorca Sunlight

Live the Balearic Island dream in this fabulous finca for six. Melding old and new, this magnificent Mallorcan, 300-year-old home has been lovingly restored so as to create a ravishing retreat perfect for small groups of friends and family. Surrounded by captivating countryside, this terrific terracotta home boasts a large garden, private, outdoor pool and two covered alfresco lounging and dining terraces – however you choose to spend your time here, you’re guaranteed a hefty dose of R & R.  

In the summer months you’ll love waking up in your four-poster bed, flinging open the wooden shutters and taking your morning coffee out onto the covered lounging terrace. Sit a while on the outdoor sofa and appreciate being surrounded by nature or laze on loungers in the sun before cooling off with a refreshing dip in your private pool. Prepare a feast of barbecued delights and dine alfresco around the wooden table. Round off the day with a little table tennis before cocktails in the outdoor easy chair area. 

At chillier times of year, you’ll love gathering in the large open-plan kitchen, dining and living room – all exposed stone walls, beautiful beamed ceilings, wooden doors and shuttered windows. Bliss out listening to music, cosy up by the fireplace or head upstairs for a game of two of pool before hosting movie night. 

Alternatively, if you feel you can tear yourself away from your countryside cocoon, the well-known white sandy beach, Playa de Muro is only a few minutes’ drive away. Whatever you do, you’re bound to feel like new. 


Rosemary & Time

Design, art and functionality work in perfect harmony at this rural villa. The high beamed ceilings and framed sections of old stone walls honour the home's roots, but it's not just traditional charm on offer. There's plenty of contemporary comforts and 21st century style to be found, including abstract artwork on the walls, a 360-degree rotating LCD TV in the bright living area and a sparkling infinity pool ideal for cooling off on balmy summer days. Inside, everything is cool and sleek, but outside, it's a true oasis. Laze about on the Balinese sunbed or soak up some rays on the funky deck chairs, all while admiring the idyllic orchard scenery. In the evenings, fire up the brick barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal and a glass of Mallorcan wine while the sun goes down. You're a little off the beaten track here, though it's only a five-minute drive to Muro's selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beach is a bit further – Platja de Muro and Alcúdia are about thirty minutes away – but we think the extra time is worth it for such a peaceful spot.
