Utter relaxation awaits at this rustic villa on the outskirts of Valldemossa, a stunning village tucked away in Mallorca’s Tramuntana mountains. Oozing old-school charm, this authentic home is sure to delight even the most discerning guest with its characterful design features – think beamed ceilings and gorgeous, wooden shutters – and long list of amenities, perfect for a relaxing retreat with family or friends. 

It's safe to say there’s no shortage of activities to keep you busy here – whether it’s relaxing by the pool, reading by the fire, or cooking up a storm on the built-in barbecue – but we wouldn’t blame you if all you wanted to do was sit back and take in the view. Settle into one of the patio chairs and gaze out at the beautiful scenery while one of your fellow guests gets to work in the kitchen. Then, when it’s time to eat, gather everyone around whichever dining table takes your fancy – there are plenty of options here – and enjoy a leisurely lunch under the midday sun before heading out for a leisurely hike in the hills. We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of anywhere we’d rather be.

Sunshine Sonata

This stunning villa was featured in a leading local design magazine, and it’s easy to see why. Inside, a predominantly white-and-blue colour scheme, high ceilings, stylish rattan furniture, and potted palms create a relaxing, breezy beach vibe that puts you at ease instantly. A choice of thirty fruit trees in the orchard, plus numerous vegetables and herbs in the garden, make it super easy to pick the ingredients for lunch. 

Whip up a sumptuous Mediterranean feast in the modern kitchen, and then round up everyone for a lazy meal in one of the numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas. Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. In part of the gardens you'll be greeted by the resident flock of sheep – feed them a few stalks of grass and they’ll love you to bits. 

If you manage to tear yourself away from this designer retreat, the village of Alaró has grocery stores, restaurants, and a trendy little gallery hosting exhibitions by local artists. The nightlife and beaches of Palma are a thirty-minute drive away. In the evening, wind down in the hot tub while sipping wine and taking in the views of the Alaró Mountains.

Earthly Delights

Bordering the UNESCO mountain range of Serra de Tramuntana, this villa promises a trip of unforgettable exclusivity. Just ten minutes from Palma's centre, it offers a perfect balance between the quiet of a rural location, and all the buzz and convenience of city centre sights, restaurants and shops a short hop away. 

There’s an outdoor and indoor bar – hello welcome drinks – private gym and even a massage room, not to mention mountain views and indoor bike storage. And the comfort carries right through to the outdoor pool area, where the chance to relax is everywhere. A full outdoor lounge spans the length of the terrace, shaded by a wooden pergola, and we love the propellor coffee tables that add a quirky touch. A summer kitchen can provide the alfresco feasts every evening, if you’re not heading into Palma.

The interior is an entertainer’s paradise with that glass-cubed bar in the living room and huge open spaces designed for socialising. There’s a touch of Japanese-zen to the dining area where an ink-black dining set sits against a cherry blossom mural, and the lounge feels like a Balinese chill-out space with tufted leather sofas and pot plants. Bedrooms are soothingly neutral in tone, and the master comes with a free-standing slipper tub for an evening soak. 

Lofty Palm

With green shutters and a terracotta roof, this Mallorcan villa wouldn’t look out of place in the Tuscan hills. There’s an air of grandeur and romance to the place, with ivy creeping up the stonework by the master’s balcony, tiled terraces shaded by olive trees and a turquoise pool set in a manicured lawn. Views of the sparkling Med in one direction and the rugged Mallorcan mountains in the other can be taken in from the hammock strung between the trees, the poolside loungers, or the sprawling outdoor sofas under the pergola. 

Heading inside, the kitchen is a picture of Mediterranean country charm, but you might not spend much time here given the all-inclusive nature of this home, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks all taken care of. Just take a seat under the candelabra in the dining room, or out at the long table on the terrace and let the fresh, local dishes come to you. Bedrooms all boast en-suite bathrooms, and their own terrace or balcony, so there are no short straws here. 

This villa is ranged up in the hills, a four-minute drive from the coast, where you’ll find secret bays with turquoise shallows. Better still, it's only a ten-minute car ride away from the pretty town of Banyalbufar.

Where Stone Meets Sea

Bursting with artisan shops and delicious eateries, Deiá is one of Mallorca's most vibrant villages. Its cobbled alleys and picturesque architecture have inspired countless artists and writers over the centuries, and this home puts you within striking distance of all it has to offer. The interiors are minimalist and natural, with traditional stone and wood accents adding a characterful touch. But there's no denying that the showstopper here is the terrace. With its sweeping panoramas and cosy seating area, it's impossible to imagine a better spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the views.

Mallorcan Stone

Live like a local when you stay at this fabulous apartment with its huge, sunny roof terrace. It's located on a quiet street, just a one-minute stroll from historic Plaza Mayor, the heart and soul of Palma Old Town. Or take a six-minute walk to the stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma (La Seu). 

If you love modern art, then make your way over to Es Baluard, under fifteen minutes away – once you've admired the masterpieces, enjoy the views of the city from its fantastic rooftop area. A couple of markets are a mere five-minute saunter from this home too. Pick up some blooms from the flower stalls on Passeig de la Rambla, or for a wide selection of local produce, stop by Olivar Market, the largest covered market in Palma.

Back at this gorgeous home, relax in the sun on the loungers on the roof terrace with its vistas over the neighbourhood. Later, rustle up dinner with some seafood from the market, and then enjoy the fruits of your labour at the outdoor or indoor dining table if you don't fancy eating out.

Estepa Blanca

Sitting directly opposite Palma’s grand Plaça Major, this sunny apartment blends elegance with contemporary comforts to create a welcoming space in which you’ll instantly feel at home.

When it comes to exploring nearby, make a beeline for Plaça Major (a one-minute walk) with its beautiful yellow buildings or visit Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca, a seven-minute stroll away. You’re also a six-minute walk from Passeig del Born and its high-end boutiques, while sandy Playa Can Pere Antoni is twenty minutes away on foot. 

Palma Blanco

Surrounded by olive trees with beautiful views across the mountains, this 19th-century home makes the perfect setting for an idyllic island escape. Outside, leisurely days can be spent lounging by the private pool. There is also an outdoor kitchen, a vegetable garden and a neighbouring organic farm with fresh seasonal produce. Inside, there are three floors, several living rooms, games and a grand piano. You’ll also find each of the bedrooms comes with a en-suite bathroom – adding a wonderful sense of privacy. From here, you can stroll into the centre of Santa Maria in just ten-minutes, while Palma is just a twenty-minute drive away. 

Mediterranean Splendour

Perched on a cliff just outside of Port Adriano, this impressive home has to be seen to be believed. Boasting an infinity pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, and every amenity you could ask for, this home makes holidays to Mallorca extra special. 

The double bedrooms look out to sea, so you can wake up to the soothing sight of bobbing waves and yachts passing by. This home has been designed to make the most of the superlative views afforded by the cliff-top setting, so you can expect lots of glass – the turquoise of the sea becomes part of the colour palette. 

The villa is just a five-minute drive from Port Adriano, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and the port, of course. From here you can set sail on a boat tour of the coast or, if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, simply sip coffee as you watch the boats pull in. A day trip to Palma might also be on the cards – it’s thirty-five minutes away. There you can stroll the historic streets, dine in top-notch restaurants and explore galleries and museums – it’s well worth the journey. 

After a day spent seeing the sights, head back to the villa to swim in the infinity pool or lounge in a day bed. The small indoor pool proves tempting in the evening when you can see the stars through sliding glass doors. There’s also a telescope set up in the living room for keen stargazers. 

Round off your day by watching the magnificent sunset with a glass of something chilled. This isn’t the kind of holiday you quickly forget.  


Sea View Siesta

In west Mallorca, lush green landscapes create colourful scenery in the Tramuntana mountains. From this hilly terrain, you can drive to the rugged coast in fifteen minutes, or explore the mountains to find stately homes like La Granja d'Esporles. And just a twenty-minute walk from this rural manor, you can stay in your very own modern-day version. 

This home is truly a garden of earthly delights. Like its surroundings, the private, fenced grounds are verdant and fresh. Made up of three traditional stone buildings, your countryside finca dream will come to life. A saltwater pool is the centrepiece, while rocking chairs, wicker dining sets, and a hanging egg chair give you plenty of options for taking in the sun. Let the kids run wild around the garden, with the table football and swing set keeping them busy while you pick fresh oranges and almonds from the trees.

Traditional, countryside life continues inside. The main building houses a rustic living space, where you can relax alongside timber beams, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning stove. In the kitchen and dining building, find exposed stonework and a vintage wooden dining table. This space exudes a warmth that will feel even better when the whole family is gathered round for a wholesome dinner.

The Trinity

When you think of Mallorca, you might not think of mountains – but the Serra de Tramuntana is a range that forms the backbone of the island. It's here, in a secluded spot surrounded by a forest of oak trees, that you'll find this handsome villa. It has been recently renovated, but still retains the rustic finca spirit, which you'll find reflected in the archways and wooden beams. 

The inside is perfectly polished, with a smart marble kitchen and impressive spiral staircase along with plenty of artistic touches. However it's the outside space that will really take your breath away. Soak up the sun on one of the terraces, before plunging into the sparkling swimming pool to cool off, as you admire the views across the hills. 

It's the perfect hideaway but it’s easy enough to go exploring if you fancy it. You can walk into Galilea in five minutes – it’s a sleepy little village with heaps of charm and a couple of bars and restaurants. If you want to experience Mallorca as the locals do, this is a great place to start. For more action, hop in the car and discover mountain villages and secret coves, or head off on bikes with a picnic. This is a great part of Mallorca for trekking, climbing and cycling. The beach at Cala Fornells is a thirty-two-minute drive, and you can be in Palma in thirty-nine minutes. 



Hush Hush

This stylish home has a fabulous address on a quiet street, just a one-minute stroll from the historic Plaza Mayor, the heart and soul of Palma Old Town. Other attractions nearby include the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma (La Seu), a six-minute walk away.

Back at this apartment, housed in a beautiful 18th-century mansion, open up the French doors to the balcony – we love the views over the neighbourhood. Put your feet up on the comfy chaise sofa for a bit after all that sightseeing and have some Mallorcan hierbas liqueur. Later, if you don't fancy eating out, whip up some arrós brut for dinner in the modern kitchen with ingredients from the market, and then enjoy at your dining table. Ideal for a couple or a business professional, this place is the perfect Palma bolthole.
