We can see ourselves sunbathing here or enjoying pre-dinner cocktails. The cobbled streets of Pollença town are outside your door and you’re a 15-minute drive from the pretty coastal resort of Puerto de Pollença. Spend your days sightseeing or soaking up some sun, sea and sand, before an evening of tapas and sangria on Pollença’s bustling square, and a spot of stargazing on the roof terrace.

Despite its central location, there’s a large garden with a Jacuzzi and an alfresco dining area with built-in barbecue and shaded areas to escape the Mallorcan sun if you wish. Inside, two bedrooms are situated in the main part of the house, while there’s an annexe on the top floor, accessed via a separate flight of steps, with a twin bedroom, kitchenette and a bathroom. From this space, there’s a terrace too, with views over the rooftops to the Puig de Maria.

Stone-clad and splendid, the main house here dates back to the 16th century. It’s an old farmhouse which once housed the olive press for the surrounding groves and you can feel this history in each terracotta-floored room inside. There’s something soothing about the timber beams of the low ceiling in the living room and the hearth-like fireplace is a nod to the old world. An open archway opens up to the dining room and there’s a second sitting room with cute, wooden-shuttered windows. Another stone archway reveals a full-sized snooker table for sociable evenings indoors and the dine-in kitchen is perfect for big, bustling family breakfasts dappled in sunshine.

But it’s the outdoors that really grabbed our attention. 175 acres of land is home to olive groves, a babbling river and orange groves. You can even enjoy a stroll through the evergreen oak woodlands without leaving the privacy of the grounds. The free-form swimming pool is like a huge lagoon on the terrace and we love the stone dining table beneath the twisting vines. Balconies and patios provide places to look out over the grounds, like a monarch surveying your kingdom, and Mallorca’s picturesque mountains flank you on all sides. 

Location-wise, you’re secluded in the countryside, but the honey-hued traditional town of Pollensa is just six kilometres away for restaurants, shops, bars and cafes.

Delivering knockout vistas of Pollensa Old Town from a private terrace and pool, you can see why this rustic home caught our eye. Granted, the interiors aren’t anything to write home about, and the kitchen is dated, but for a fuss-free family holiday close to all of Majorca’s best bits, this home works. You’re within walking distance of the delightful old town of Pollensa for evening meals in the square and only a ten-minute drive from the gently sloping shores of Puerto Pollensa. Now, how’s that for a location?

The beach is only a 10 minute drive away from this property, so it's the ideal choice if you're after a break filled with siestas and sangria. A short walk from the town square and bars, the limestone building blends seamlessly into an old row of houses. Open the heavy oak doors to find a haven of modern style and original charm. Paved floors, beamed ceilings and antique furniture nod to the plot's age, while bright white walls, modern art prints, and smart grey bathrooms look firmly into the 21st century. The pretty courtyard has a splash pool for cooling off on hot days, while on the upstairs sun loungers mean you can soak up the rays amongst the terracotta rooftops. You’ll find this typically Mallorcan villa a five-minute wander from the heart of Pollença’s old town, where charming cafes, bars and restaurants line the cobblestone streets and a farmers market sells fresh produce every Sunday. A short drive to the northeast places you at Port de Pollença, famous for its picturesque beaches and hiking opportunities – the Boquer Valley walk was one of our favourites. After soaking up the sunshine on Platja Can Cap de Bou, head home for a barbecue on the patio and some drinks by the pool. 

Listen to the cicadas chirp as you enjoy a game of table tennis in the garden then head inside to unwind in the cosy living space – we loved the rustic ceiling beams and exposed stone walls. Make a beeline for the balcony with a nightcap in hand to watch dusk fall over the treetops and when the sky becomes inky black, retreat to the charming bedrooms for a deep and restful slumber.

While some of the interiors may be a little dated for some, there’s no denying this place hasn’t got character and wooden shutters in spades. Those travelling with younger children may find those low walls with drops within the villa grounds and ladder effect railings a little hair-raising – little ones will need to be supervised at all times. But you can’t beat its location – with the Old Town of Pollensa within walking distance and the gently sloping sands of Puerto Pollensa just a short spin away.

The location of this home is one of its many highlights — whether you're in the mood for a day at the beach, a day exploring the historical and cultural sites of the town and port of Pollenca, or you just want to find a great restaurant for lunch, you'll find everything you need just a short drive from your doorstep. We do recommend having a car here, but you'll find yourself in fairly close proximity to everything exciting and worthwhile in the area, so you'll be able to fit in everything you want to do. This home acts as the perfect centre point for those wanting to get the most out of their Mallorcan holiday.

In the heart of the countryside and an area of natural beauty, you’ll find this beautiful, elegant villa waiting quietly for you. You are welcomed by shades of pink, cream and terracotta stone, lit with warm amber lighting. The interiors are modern and abstract which will have you enthralled at every turn. Wonderfully social in nature, enjoy the open-plan living areas where you can sink into the deep comfortable sofas and chat about your day. Our favourite spot is the entertainment room, where you can pop some music on the jukebox or simply sit back and relax with one of the many books available. 

Outside is a jungle masterpiece. Spend your days wandering down the quaint paths to enjoy an afternoon of swimming in the private pool. With several exposed and covered terraces, you can relax with a cocktail in hand or dine alfresco with loved ones. The scenery is breathtaking, washed in shades of green. 

While this is a peaceful setting, if you fancy something a little more vibrant, stroll into the town of Pollença or take a short drive to the local beaches – there is plenty in the area to fill your day. When you are ready to retire for the evening, take a long luxurious bubble bath before enjoying a restful sleep in one of the serene bedrooms. Start your mornings with a coffee under the shade of the pergola, then enjoy a refreshing dip to feel energised for the day ahead.

If you're keen to be by the ocean, the three beaches of Cala San Vicente are within easy distance, and offer fine, golden sand and crystal clear water. We highly recommend a visit to Pollensa town to fully appreciate the area's history and culture. Stroll down the attractive narrow streets to admire the traditional architecture and signs of a fascinating past, then head to the impressive main square, where you can stop at one of the cafes for a cafe con leche.  

While you're in town, pick some up some fresh ingredients then head home to try cooking some local dishes on the barbecue. The outdoor dining table is ideal for alfresco family feasts, surrounded by spectacular scenery. Post-dinner, go up to the balcony with a glass of wine to watch the sun set over the beautiful landscape, or get cosy inside by the fireplace.

There's nothing like the Mallorcan countryside, with its lush greenery and iconic mountain range. And this home is just perfect for soaking up the peaceful views. 
A traditional and beautiful home just a short walk from the old town of Pollença, this place is versatile too, thanks to its two separate units. Perfect for two families sharing or a multigenerational holiday, there are there bedrooms in the main house and a separate two-bed apartment on the floor beneath with its own facilities. 
Here, the order of the day is relaxation. With terraces, table tennis, a private pool and a large field for games. Set in more than an acre of private grounds, you'll be tucked away in your own personal slice of paradise. Inside, it's typical Spanish style through and through, with terracotta floors, stone walls and arched doorways. There's a practical family kitchen in the main house and a smaller version in the apartment, with plenty of bathrooms and cool, characterful bedrooms. 
Walk to the shops and restaurants of Pollença or jump in the car and head to the beach in just ten minutes. And if you're a fan of golf, you'll be pleased to hear it's just a short drive to the local golf club.
