And while its old stone walls and wooden beams are just as they were, the home's refreshed interiors are ready to be the blank canvas for you to create your own memories. It's on the first floor, so prepare to climb some stairs, and since it's part of an apartment complex, you're likely to hear and see your neighbours. For a family getaway in Mallorca, it's a good choice.

This villa is everything we want from a place in the southeast of Mallorca. Step-free access and three downstairs bedrooms mean it’s suitable for those with limited mobility, while the upstairs bedroom has its own en-suite and balcony – perfect for those who’d like some privacy. You’ll notice holiday knick-knacks dotted about, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we think they’re charming. It’s the outside space that really steals the show – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool and summer kitchen. Most importantly, there’s a sandy beach 700 metres away and Caló del Moro is easily reached by car.

When it comes to uninterrupted sea views, it doesn’t get much better than those offered from this home. Occupying a privileged spot on the cliffs of Cala Murada, this is the ideal setting for a refreshing coastal escape. Take your pick from multiple terraces, enjoy lazy days by the pool and restorative sessions in the home sauna and jacuzzi. And while this all sounds like the perfect adults-only escape, it’s also a great option for families with child-friendly amenities available on request and the nearest beach just a short walk away. 


Floating In the Sunshine

With some homes it's hard to know where to start, but with this place in Cala d'Or there's a very obvious beginning point. The beach. Set so close to the gorgeous Cala Petita that all you have to do is stroll down the garden path and step out of the gate to feel the warm sand between toes, it overlooks this pretty little inlet – the crystal-clear water constantly tempting you from below. With one of the best beach views we've seen, this beautiful spot is one of our favourites. 

Screened from its neighbours by lush hedges and fragrant pine trees, you'll feel tucked away here, with a fabulous view from the private terrace. The home itself is as pretty as a picture, with green shutters and a traditional covered porch. Inside, high ceilings, all-white walls and plenty of curves and arches provide the backdrop, while comfy, stylish furnishings and nautical artwork make for a homey feel. The living room is dominated by a gorgeous fireplace and there's a covered dining space with huge doors opening to the sunny terrace. Cooking at home will be a pleasure in the well kitted-out kitchen, but it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearby shops and restaurants.

Perfect for a family or a great choice for a multigenerational stay, two rooms are well suited to children, with enough bathrooms to prevent any queues for the shower. And if you're the kind of person who likes to begin the day with a swim, nothing could be more invigorating than a sea dip before breakfast.

This breathtakingly beautiful villa is the perfect place to call home during a trip to the south of Mallorca. Just a few minutes away from the water's edge, in the town of Cala d'Or, it's ideal for groups of friends or families who want to embrace island life. 

The traditional white exterior gives way to a gorgeous, tranquil living space. With plenty of comfy sofas and a collection of local artworks, it's a true sanctuary where you can kick back and relax. Outside, there's a grassy area where the kids can play, and a sparkling swimming pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip after a sunbathing session. When you get hungry you can fire up the grill, and serve up a delicious feast outside on the patio as the sun goes down. 

A five-minute walk will bring you to Playa Cala Gran, a sandy cove where you can snorkel or even rent a little paddle boat. Nature lovers can visit Parc natural de Mondragó to hike through the gorgeous landscapes and even do some birdwatching. And, if a dose of culture is more your kind of thing, then the capital city of Palma is under an hour away, where you'll find plenty of fascinating history.

Set just back from Cala Esmeralda beach (350 metres away), this home provides a practical base from which to explore the island. It’s also just a ten-minute walk to the restaurants, bars and shops of Cala D’Or, with golf courses and beautiful coves within driving distance. Your host can also arrange airport transfers – a great option for those in search of total relaxation without needing to drive. The rooms are basic and the outdoor space may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility, but the location is ideal for those looking to spend their days adventuring along the coast.

This contemporary villa has bagged a fantastic location, with everything you could want on your holiday within walking distance. Cala d’Or town centre, with its pedestrianised streets, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, is in one direction and the chic marina with its fashionable quayside is in the other. You’ve also got a choice of beaches, with two sandy coves just a short stroll away. The villa itself boasts a large pool with loungers, an alfresco dining area and a balcony with marina views.

This idyllic villa is the perfect place to gather for some Balearic bliss. It's based in the easy-going resort of Cala D’Or, just a stone’s throw from golden beaches, and you can park the car at the start of the holiday and leave it there till it’s time to go home. Plus, with two sandy beaches both reachable within just seven minutes on foot, you can spend your days splashing in the waves, building sandcastles, or simply relaxing as you enjoy the views and soothing soundscape. 

Start your mornings with a glass of jugo de naranja on the sun-bathed balcony as you admire the incredible views stretching out to the ocean. Then head to the beach or spend leisurely hours lounging in the sunshine before cooling off in the waters of your private swimming pool. When you need a moment of shade, why not sit back with a good book on the comfortable outdoor seating under the shaded pergola?

In the evening, sliding doors connect the kitchen to a small porch with a dining table creating the perfect area to enjoy a meal of Spanish tapas. Or, take advantage of the barbecue to grill your pinchos. We would love to end our days here with a glass of wine and some relaxing after-dinner chat with a view of the pool – or as the Spanish call it, Sobremesa.

This traditional villa sits on the edge of sleepy S’Horta where it provides a great location for a family getaway. From here, you can walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, plus it’s just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Cala D’Or. Your host can organise a range of extras for little ones and while the rooms are basic, we think you’ll be spending most of your time in the swimming pool or lounging on the terrace. 


Simple Peace

It’s rare that you can walk from a country farmhouse to the beach, but this Mallorcan villa has it all. Located in the beautiful Cala Mondragó, you’ll be surrounded by the untouched nature of Mallorca. Just a few minutes walk from some of the most prestigious beaches on the east coast, you could easily go without a car here, though we do recommend renting one if you’re keen to explore other resorts like Cala D'or. At home, you’ll have a private pool, barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating from which to soak up the glorious sunshine.

We're talking sun-kissed terraces, a built-in barbecue and plenty of spots to sprawl out in the rays. The rustic interiors won't appeal to everyone – in particular, the bathrooms are somewhat dated – but the single-level layout will suit guests who struggle with stairs.

Building this home was the realisation of a life-long dream for the owner, whose family worked the land for generations – you can tell a lot of love has been poured into the villa. It’s a comfortable and welcoming home, ideal for families. We love the outside space, with a private pool, open and covered terraces, and incredible panoramic views of the rolling countryside surrounding the home. You can even spot the Tramuntana mountains in the distance. The nearest beach is around fifteen minutes away by car, so we recommend hiring a car.

Mallorcan village life is on your doorstep at this stone-clad country home set just a short walk from Calonge's traditional restaurants, bakery and shops. Dating back to the 17th century, the villa's interiors are characterful, albeit dated in parts. But we'll let that slide with such magnificent enclosed grounds and a private saltwater infinity pool outside. Ready to break up pool days? Cala d'Or, with its elegant marina and idyllic beaches and coves, is just a five-minute drive, and the Vall d'Or golf course is also close by. Now, how's that for a location?

Based in the quaint medieval village of Calonge, just a short drive from the stunning beach of Cala D'or, this home is ideally placed for an idyllic Mallorcan break.
