Families – this one’s for you. This villa even has a master suite with its own lounge and kitchen, perfect for grandparents who might need a little break from family fun. The decor inside is on the traditional side, with heavy wooden beams and tiled floors, and while it’s not the most modern, it’s charming and functional. We love the dining terrace with sea views, and, of course, the pool. You’ll be within easy walking distance of Punta Prima’s sandy beach, and you can hire pushchairs from your host to make travelling with the kids a bit easier.

This modern abode is situated on Menorca, a small Balearic island in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a single-storey home with ramp access, so we think this is a great option for those with limited mobility. With its open-plan U-shaped design and sliding glass doors onto the terrace and pool, it was made to enjoy the sunny Spanish weather. The furnishings might be a bit basic, but they work just the treat, as you’ll spend most of your time exploring the local area or swimming in the private pool. You’re just 30 metres from the ocean and a few minutes’ drive from the sandy beach of Punta Prima, with seaside shops, restaurants and pubs within walking distance.

In the quiet hamlet of Son Ganxo, this villa offers the best of both worlds with easy access to the popular Punta Prima resort. There are a few restaurants close by, but if you feel like cooking then you’ll find a brick barbecue in the beautifully lawned garden. There’s no need to rent a car here thanks to the mini train that takes you to neighbouring resort of Binibeca. Some of the elements inside are a bit traditional for our liking – particularly the kitchen – but the ground-floor layout is ideal for guests who struggle with stairs. We think it's a good option for a family getaway.

This villa lies in Binbeca, one of Menorca's most sought-after locations, a short walk from the nearest beach and restaurants. With a private pool lined with sun loungers, an outdoor dining area, and a garden with a basketball hoop, this home is great for a family getaway or a holiday with friends. A car isn't necessary to have a great time, but the island's capital Mahón is just a short drive away if you want to explore a little further afield.

Formerly a chapel, this unique house in Menorca has been transformed into a family-friendly home. Located five minutes walk from the city centre, it combines original features with modern design. Upstairs, bedrooms are minimalist in style but super comfy and there’s a perfect ‘dorm’ room that children will love. The roof terrace is an extra bonus and a perfect spot for basking in the sun. But downstairs is where it all happens. There’s a chill-out zone packed with plump cushions and soft blankets (perfect for some peaceful meditation), two separate lounges and a modern kitchen that opens onto a casual breakfast table. For more convivial meals, step out onto the majestic terrace and dine in marvellous style. Afterwards, make your way down the steps to the garden, relax on a lounger, plunge into the pool or simply enjoy the bubbles of your own private Jacuzzi — with a glass of bubbles in hand.

This beautiful, 250-year-old farmhouse has been lovingly restored to create a charming, peaceful retreat just outside the historic town of Alaior. Spacious and tastefully styled, it really is a cut above, especially in terms of its rural setting. The 160-acre farm estate it sits on has been thoughtfully rewilded to create a home for native flora and fauna – including the local red kites and wild tortoises. 

When you're not exploring the grounds, there's a stunning saltwater pool and a covered terrace where you can eat outdoors, taking in views across the lush gardens. Cooking can be done inside, in the smart country kitchen, or outside on the barbecue – both the rustic dining table and the outdoor table seat twelve comfortably. Elsewhere, bedrooms and bathrooms are spread across two floors and a small annexe, with plenty of flexibility if there are two or more families sharing. 

Having recently gained an agrotourism license from the local government, it has excellent eco credentials too – the well water is purified to make it safe for drinking and the home's hot water is heated by solar panels, while any water used in sinks and showers goes into a system to irrigate the lawns and gardens. 

By day you can swim in the pool or play on the private tennis court, explore the land or head to the nearby town – just seven minutes away by car – for lunch. Just a fifteen-minute drive from the airport, you'll be in the heart of rural Menorca here. Mahon is around twenty minutes away and the coast is even closer – we recommend the dreamy, white-sand beach at Son Bou.

What initially caught our eye here were the sea views – best enjoyed from the terrace, balcony and two of the bedrooms – but we're equally impressed by the sleek interiors. Inside, there's plenty of space to spread out and unwind away from the island's endless sunshine. Although, if you ask us, the best spot of all to chill out is the small private pool, fitted with whirlpool jets for extra relaxation.

This compact white-washed villa is moments from the southern cliffs of Menorca, offering marvellous sea views from its distinctive pool area. As an aesthetic space, it's not exactly heaving with furnishings, opting for functionality over character – the kitchen is particularly sparse, crammed into a space that will struggle to fit more than one determined chef. The bedrooms are perfectly cosy however, with one offering direct access to the south-facing patio. Beyond the pleasant swimming pool, outdoors also offers a choice of seating areas including a dining table overlooking the Balearic, plus a grill perfect for social barbeques. You'll also have easy access to the resort of Cala en Porter, with shops, restaurants and beach bars less than ten minutes away.

This is one of the oldest farmhouses in Menorca and you can feel the history in the vaulted ceilings and thick stone walls inside. The walls and old stone fireplace may have been whitewashed like a traditional Balearic farmhouse, but the furnishings are modern and ooze style. Relaxing in the cool of the living room is a delight with pops of neon pink and lipstick red livening up the room. The kitchen has that old farmhouse feel to wood-panelled cabinets and a Belfast sink, but the lick of turquoise paint sings of summer holidays and vibrant evenings together. Archways link several seating areas where the group can spread out.

Heading outside, you’re met with the scent of lavender bushes and twisting olive trees feel as though they’ve been here as long as the old farmhouse. The gardens are bursting with herbs and wildflowers, so you can listen to the happy buzz of bees while taking your morning coffee at one of the many seating spots outside. A long dining table in the shade of the veranda invites you to linger for long lunches in the sun. Once you’ve digested thoroughly to the chirp of crickets, slip into the serene swimming pool to cool off.

It’s a short drive to the coastal town of Santo Tomas where a long, sandy beach awaits. Plus, along this stretch of the Menorcan coast, you’ve got Bini Gaus Beach and an ancient cave the size of a cathedral to explore.

And locations don't get much better either. You can be swimming off the sandy shores of Cala Millor or mooching along its seafront promenade bustling with restaurants and bars in just an eight-minute stroll.

Though you might find all you need back at home. Perfectly geared to alfresco living, sunny mornings call for lazy breakfasts on one of the two furnished outdoor terraces before a cool dip in the pool. And if you think the garden looks pretty now – wait till you see the festoon lights flicker on at night. It's a magical place to spend evenings with sundowners and a barbecue.

When it's time to beat the heat, there are heaps of activities to keep everyone happy indoors. A games cabinet stacked with toys and a games console should keep the kids (and big kids) busy or crash out with a movie in the cosy living area. 

Well suited for friends or family sharing – bedrooms are spaced out over two floors to give guests that extra bit of privacy and united by the same pared-back and calming palette. We don't know about you, but it all sounds pretty dreamy to us.

In the Night Garden

Sat in the middle of a 740-acre site in the north of Mallorca, this stone finca is blessed with dreamy views of Mont Farrutx and the Mediterranean Sea beyond. Given the colossal size of the grounds, there are plenty of spots from which you can enjoy this vista and a welcome lack of neighbours or passers-by to disturb you.

Despite this wide choice of vantage points, we're willing to bet that the majority of time will be spent splashing about in the swimming pool, catching some rays on the surrounding loungers or enjoying barbecued feasts while sitting underneath the towering palm trees.

The interior of the home is traditional in style, with period features, such as the wooden ceiling beams and exposed stone walls, complemented by an impressive collection of antique furnishings and large framed artwork. The dining table positioned underneath an opulent chandelier is sure to add a sense of occasion to indoor mealtimes, too.

As you can probably guess from the sea view, there's a fantastic selection of beaches nearby, including Platja de Son Serra de Marina only thirteen minutes' drive away. The charming fishing village of Colònia de Sant Pere is ten minutes away in the car too for when you're after bars and restaurants.

With plenty of space for eight guests to spread out across its three floors, you’ll find en-suites for every bedroom and plenty of mod-cons. For us, the best part of this home is the outdoor area. Whether you’re enjoying a dip in the private pool, rustling up dinner on the barbecue or simply lying back in a hammock, relaxing with a glass of wine, you're never far from knockout sea views.

If beachfront is what you're after, this Cala Ratjada villa certainly delivers. Offering direct access to the promenade from the garden, you'll be able to roll out of bed and stroll straight down to the sea – sounds dreamy, doesn't it? And don't get us started on the spectacular views. Whether you're barbecuing on the patio, swinging in the hammock, or lounging on the roof terrace, you'll have a front-row seat to watch the tide roll in. Rustic charm abounds in the living room, though some other spaces (especially the bathrooms) are a bit dated. That said, with easy access to Cala Ratjada's beach and restaurants, we don't think you'll mind.

Sea views abound at this villa on Mallorca's east coast. The panoramic terraces are perfect for soaking up the rays, offering tables for alfresco dining, sofas for afternoon siestas, and a ping-pong table for friendly competitions. Days here start with a dip in the pool and end with a soak in the hot tub overlooking the water, but if you prefer to unwind indoors, you'll find plenty of space. Each bedroom is comfortable and cosy, though two are on the lower level and lack natural light. Location-wise, a rocky beach is right on your doorstep – literally at the edge of the garden – while Cala Bona and Cala Millor are a short drive away.

Beyond the whitewashed walls and green shutters, this home's stand-out features are the pool terrace and flower-wrapped pergola, promising views across the meadows. Don't fancy an alfresco barbecue? Alaior's restaurants, bars, and shops await, just 3.2 kilometres away. What's more, the small beach at Cales Coves is a short drive from here – so we recommend hiring a car.

Situated just a ten-minute walk from the centre of Porto Cristo, this apartment is in an excellent location which offers the tranquillity of being near the edge of the forest but also the convenience of plenty of local amenities including a supermarket, restaurants, bars, and even a bakery – perfect for buying fresh breakfast pastries. Start your mornings here with a café con leche at the kitchen’s breakfast bar or take your fresh jugo de naranja outside and enjoy it in comfort on the pergola-shaded terrace. 

Sandy beaches are also close by to this home and can be reached in as little as fifteen minutes on foot. So why not spend several hours basking in the sunshine as you recline on the soft sands and listen to the soothing sounds of ocean waves?

Take a dip in the complex’s swimming pool before relaxing in your own small, private garden with your favourite holiday read. Then, in the evening, enjoy a tapas meal alfresco on the terrace or take full advantage of the home’s barbecue and cook some delicious Spanish pinchos.

We love the beautiful sea views from the terrace of this beachfront apartment in Cala Millor. Watch the sunrise, then enjoy breakfast on your private balcony while listening to the soothing sounds of the waves lapping the shore.

Inside, a fresh white scheme is enlivened by pops of colour from the cushions and modern artworks. But to be honest, we were just mesmerized by the vistas from the sofa.

The location of this home is just wonderful. Go for a stroll on the beach opposite, which is under a minute away – there's a restaurant here too. The white sands and azure waters of Cala Millor Beach are a ten-minute walk, while it's a five-minute saunter to a range of eateries, bars and supermarkets.

Escape the crowds with a stay at this stylish townhouse perched in the medieval hill town of Artà, and just an eighteen-minute drive from the dazzling coast.

This soulful town has bags of charm and heaps of style to boot. Mooch about Artà's bustling traditional weekly market. Rummage in the local antique stores. Or find yourself a sunny spot at one of the many street cafes for lazy lunches and a spot of people watching – it's all just moments from your door.

When it's time to up the ante, you're in the right spot – the northeast is prime territory for hiking, cycling, horse riding, and bird-watching. Or pack up your bucket and spades and hit the beach – you'll be there in less than twenty minutes.

Back at home, this place had us on those shady verandas alone. But wait till you see the icy-blue pool in the inner courtyard garden.

Inside, the interiors glow from top-to-toe in crisp white. And there's no knick-knacks here – just pristine, uncluttered spaces.

Friends or families holidaying together will love how private the bedrooms feel, spread out across two floors. Though prepare for a tussle for that top floor suite leading out to the terrace – it's dreamy.

Surrounded by warm-hued stone, this home’s beautiful patio is a special space. Relax here with a glass of wine or cool off in the spa area with its small pool and water blade – it’s particularly magical in the evenings. There’s a roof terrace, too, with lovely views over picturesque Artá, perfect for unwinding in the Mallorcan sun.

Inside, the modern features blend seamlessly with the old – think stone archways, beams and a traditional four-poster bed, as well as a contemporary kitchen and steel staircase.

This home is situated in the heart of pretty Artà, a town just a few kilometres inland from the northeast coast of Mallorca. It’s surrounded by the mountains of the Llevant Natural Park, so has wonderful vistas. On Tuesdays, there’s a weekly market, which is known for its local pottery. Other attractions in the area include the Bronze Age Talaiotic settlement of Ses Païsses, the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador, and the Caves d'Arta.

Located on a hill between the towns of Son Carrió and Cala Millor, this authentic country villa is just a short drive away from some of the best beaches, hiking trails and cycling routes of Mallorca. Surrounded by olive trees, the garden features a private swimming pool, a covered terrace with views overlooking the local nature and an alfresco dining area. Meanwhile, shadier spots can be found inside, where the stone-clad walls create a cool (and characterful) ambience. While the interiors lack modern charm and appear dated in parts, the designs here don't seem out of place, given the heritage of this traditional home.

Spread across two floors, this home has pride of place in Cala Mendia. It is perched on a cliff, providing unbeatable views of the beach and turquoise shallows of the small bay, an ideal swim spot. A private set of steps from this home takes you straight onto the beach below. Take meals on the terracotta-tiled terrace that wraps around the villa, with views over the water, uninterrupted to the horizon. Colourful Story

Sleek and contemporary, this Porto Cristo villa is a far cry from the traditional fincas dotted across Mallorca.
