There's movie-quality magic to this secluded hacienda in Ibiza, from the interiors worthy of a magazine to enough entertainment to keep all members of your party engaged. We noticed the architecture first, with native Sabina wood ceilings and arched white walls sheltering eclectic pieces like a cowhide chair and Native American headdresses. For the performers in your group, there's a grand piano in the living area – or plug a phone into the sound system to play more professional beats. Bedrooms each deliver a sense of serenity, courtesy of pastel colour schemes and reclaimed wooden furniture.  But you won't want to hang out alone for too long – the infinity pool is surrounded by daybeds, while the built-in stone barbecue has carved-stone seats for everyone to keep an eye on the action. To amp up the energy, there are pétanque courts, table tennis and foosball tables and a basketball hoop. Glimpses of the sea are visible from the roof terrace, or you can jump on one of the home's bikes for a trip to the shore before heading back for sundowners on the wraparound terrace.

Inside, there’s a living area with a grand piano and we love the main suite with its fireplace and access to a terrace. There’s also an independent guest suite ideal for those wanting privacy. Location-wise, the family favourite, Port d’es Torrent, is within walking distance.

Ibiza Sea Breeze

From the stone gardens planted with cacti to the grounds filled with lavender, citrus, and olive trees, this home is a Mediterranean hideaway. Despite only being about ten minutes' drive from Cala Comte, the stay feels like a slice of privacy thanks to its huge plot. Sunbathing by the pool, chilling out in the BBQ area, or pulling some yoga moves on the patio are all sound tracked with not much more than the buzz of the countryside. The spot's interiors are a cool nod to Ibiza, with white-washed walls, brushed concrete, and the occasional pop of a piece of modern art. The downstairs area flows from the steel industrial kitchen to a larger living space, and finally out to the finca-style terrace, with its terracotta colours and low-hanging rattan lamps. A good night sleep is pretty much guaranteed thanks to super king-size beds in every room, though there might be a tussle for rooms with private balconies.

When dinner time arrives you’ll have an array of eating areas to choose from. Our favourite spot is the charming sun-dappled dining area sunken in citrus trees, lavender, and lush greenery – perfect for dining alfresco long into the balmy summer evenings. The outdoors features two cane-wood-covered verandas with comfy sofas, great for playing games and relaxing under the gentle shade. When you’re not lying around by the pool, lazy days are best spent at the sandy bays of Cala Bassa and Cala Conta nearby.

With its whitewashed walls and wooden ceilings, this home has a blend of traditional Ibizan charm and modern luxury. We love that each of the bedrooms has an en-suite too. The location is great as well. You’ll be close to Cala Bassa, and it's just a five-minute drive from the village of San Agustín.

Perched on the hills near Sant Josep, this traditional finca is a real head-turner. It holds true to its roots, with rustic stone walls, terracotta roof tiles and exposed beams, but the owners have brought it bang up to date with a sleek kitchen and polished concrete floors. There’s a touch of artistic inspiration here too, with flashes of ikat print, blue-painted wood and quirky sculptures (the centrepiece of the living room is a larger-than-life alabaster face). Lovely as the inside is, you’ll undoubtedly spend most of your time in the garden. With clouds of pink blossom scenting the air, and an impossibly blue sky overhead, it’s easy to feel like you’ve found actual heaven on Earth. There are so many outdoor chill-out areas it’s hard to know where to begin. Start with a sun lounger by the beautifully decked pool, or one of the covered daybeds if you prefer a little shade. Eat lunch at the palm-covered, pool-side dining table, and sundowners surely have to be taken on the superb roof terrace, where the views are to-die-for. The set up couldn’t be more perfect for groups holidaying together. Every room has its own en-suite and there are two separate apartments with their own entrances. When you’re ready to get out and explore (we won’t judge if you don’t), you’re 7km from the nearest beach and just 1km from the traditional Ibizan village of San Augustin.

Indian Summer

This traditional finca has transformed its old stables and corrals into an Ibizan escape. Composed of multiple buildings, getting comfortable (and finding some alone time) won't be a problem here. We love the old tower, which houses the main suite, a separate living area and a bevvy of charming features like wooden beams and stone walls. Another favourite is the sun-kissed terrace, where you can sprawl out on the poolside lounge chairs, take a dip in the refreshing water and dine alfresco under the pergola. Location-wise, Sant Antoni de Portmany is a 2-kilometre drive. A beach day can be had at Cala Salada, just 5 kilometres away. You'll want to hire a car to make the most of the area.
