A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ibiza is so much more than the nightclubs and dance music it’s known for. For 300 years, this authentic Spanish finca has looked across the landscape and out to the Mediterranean Sea. You could spend all day in this oasis, but for those looking for culture, drive to nearby Santa Gertrudis. This bohemian haven – dubbed 'the Notting Hill of Ibiza' – is full of galleries, restaurants and artisan shops. If the coast is more your thing, it's just a ten-minute drive to Santa Eulalia and the beaches of the south coast. As the sun goes down, gather for an alfresco meal on the terrace, choosing your favourite chill-out playlist on the sound system.

There's no denying that The White Isle is a gorgeous destination, and this villa is pretty easy on the eyes. Built with the traditional Ibiza style in mind, the exterior is white as sugar against the rich green of the surrounding countryside and panoramic vistas of the Morna Valley. Indoors is all about living in luxury, with plush king-size beds and glossy en-suites in each bedroom as well as an open-plan living space that honours the breezy style fincas are known for. 

That said, you'll likely spend most of your time in the garden, basking in the endless sunshine. There's a glittering pool where you can enjoy afternoon swims and midnight dips under the stars and so many sun-kissed lounging areas it's hard to know where to start. We can easily picture ourselves lounging on the daybed with a good book, sipping sangria before dinner in the covered dining area and whipping up tapas in the summer kitchen to enjoy as the sun goes down – sounds pretty dreamy, if we do say so ourselves.

While this is a quiet rural location, you're just a ten-minute drive from Santa Eulalia and twenty minutes from Ibiza Town. Explore the island's beaches and secret coves by day – our favourites are Aigües Blanques and Cala de Sant Vicent, both twenty minutes by car – and enjoy the lively atmosphere by night. We think this is White Isle living at its finest.

This contemporary villa is bathed in sunlight. While the decor indoors is sleek and spacious (if a bit simple), the outside area really shines. The sprawling terrace is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and sharing alfresco meals. After a dip in the private pool, stretch out on one of the lounge chairs and admire the tree-studded mountain views. For day trips, it's an easy drive to Cala Llonga and Cala Blanca beach, and about fifteen minutes by car from lively Ibiza Town.

Immerse yourself in nature at this traditional Ibizan home, nestled in the countryside just five minutes from Santa Eularia. Set across two levels with all but one bedroom on the ground floor, this is an ideal family retreat. And while the cool, crisp interiors are beautiful, it’s the outdoor space that we love the most. Top up your tan from a selection of sun-drenched terraces (our pick would always be the rooftop), or sink into the refreshing water of the private pool to cool off in the heat of the day. With such tranquil surroundings, you can’t help but relax.

Known as the billionaire’s playground, Ibiza is a favoured retreat for the wealthy and at this home you’ll undeniably be living your best life. On 25 acres of private grounds, the villa feels as if it’s an island all of its own. The rural location is serene and sun-baked buildings dot the rolling landscape that unfurls before you. You might not feel the need to stray too far from this white-washed palace of a villa (it even has a stone tower) as the numerous terraces and decks are draped with hammocks and furnished with sprawling day beds and sofas big enough for ten. There’s a pool and a tennis court should you fancy something more active. With the option to have full-time staff during your stay and a pre-arrival food and drinks service, you can jump right into living that good Ibizan life at your leisure. Cool tiled floors and fresh colours adorn the inside spaces. The villa may be palatial in size, but there’s a down-to-earth boho feel from the Balinese furnishings, raw wood finishes and stone sinks and showers. The professional kitchen is at the heart of the villa (you can hire a chef), opening up onto the terrace where dinner can be served at the long outdoor table overlooking the hills. Barbecues become so much more than a rustic cook-out with the full outdoor kitchen and bar. Inside, a sunken, circular seating area at the base of the stone tower makes for the perfect cinema room. If you manage to bag the master suite a free-standing tub, luxurious hammam-style shower and huge yoga terrace beyond the glass doors ensure a spa-like escape. 

St Vetiver

In S’Argamassa in the northeast of Ibiza, this villa sits amid quiet sandy beaches. It’s in an area known for its picturesque coastline, formed by small red rock cliffs, and is close to the Santa Eualia marina. The villa feels far removed from the hustle and bustle, tucked away at the end of a private path. There’s a garden of palm trees and an ancient olive tree with a pool, and a terrace upstairs with sea views. Inside, this home is modern and well-equipped, perfect for a family getaway. 

Emerald Paradise

Just 500 meters from the beach, this modern villa is the perfect base for exploring all that Ibiza has to offer. With a private pool and multiple chill-out zones, though, no one would blame you for staying put. Complete with an outdoor barbecue, it’s ideal for families or groups who love to cook and entertain. The lively center of Santa Eulalia del Río is also a ten-minute stroll away if you fancy sampling the local supermarkets, restaurants, and bars. Granted, the neighbouring villas are quite close by, so it’s not completely secluded. But when the setting is this effortlessly stunning, who needs isolation anyway?

It feels fresh, yet respects its original architectural features: stroll through stone archways, dine beneath twisted wooden beams, and sink into the retro, 1970’s style conversation pit in the living room. Outside, there’s a pool that would impress even an Olympian, a jacuzzi, and a sauna to soothe sore muscles – and does it really matter if you got them from swimming laps or simply from a day on the sun lounger? With a short drive to some of Ibiza’s incredible beaches, and a view to write home about, we would have no problem awarding this home a gold medal.
