One of our favourite areas of this home is the workspace, fitted with a standalone bath where you can admire the rural view as you unwind in the bubbles. The refreshing pool is positioned directly under the sun, where you can bathe in not only the rippling water but also the radiant sunshine.

Wander through the charming Santa Margalida village, or travel to the center of Mallorca. There's a beach not too far away with gorgeous white sands and sparkling waters. Visit a wide range of eateries that serve up traditional local cuisine, including a sumptuous beachside paella. You'll also come across the buzz of the Picafort and Puerto de Alcudia promenades.

Drive just nineteen minutes to reach Can Picafort, a gorgeous white sand beach with the crystal clear waters you think of when planning a trip to Mallorca. To really get a feel for how locals live, on Wednesdays head to Sineu and its authentic and historic market. In nine minutes you can be browsing local produce and livestock at a market that’s taken place for over 700 years.

It’s just a short stroll from Son Bauló beach (500 metres away), and you’ll find shops and restaurants close by. We suggest hiring a car to explore the beautiful beaches further along the coast – Port d'Alcúdia and Playa de Muro are less than a twenty-minute drive away. Your host can also help arrange car rentals, as well as nice extras like private chefs and spa treatments. There are steps leading down to the terrace and pool, so children will need to be supervised here but overall there’s plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together.

When you’re not out sampling the local cuisine or spending your days in the surf and sand of Playa del Muro, you can find peaceful refuge between this villa’s four walls. Although, some might argue that the tranquillity can actually be found outside where the terrace overlooks rolling hills and the verdant green of native foliage. In this secluded villa, relaxation is the first port of call. While some might opt for the Mediterranean lifestyle of local beaches such as Can Picafort, a fifteen-minute drive away, you can experience the sea in your private saltwater pool. Sitting among lush citrus groves and boasting sweeping views of the Tramuntana Mountains, this place has ‘rural escape’ written all over it. That’s not to say it’s totally out of the way though – the village of Búger is within easy reach, not to mention some of the island’s best beaches are just a twenty-minute drive away. Of course, not everyone will love the traditional design features here, but even if they’re not your cup of tea, there's plenty else to like.

While you could easily spend the entire day hanging out at home, we recommend you drive fifteen minutes to the nearest beach at Platja de Muro. Head out to explore and in addition to the nearby beaches, the historic town of Muro, with sandstone buildings, Sunday markets and an old church awaits your arrival, just ten minutes away by car.

A stunning stone house with acres of lush land and a swimming pool – do holiday homes get any better than this? This gorgeous finca is just outside of the town of Maria de la Salut, with so much land that it feels like a private estate. There’s a forest area to the rear of the property, which is wonderful for walks, and there are peacocks, sheep and horses on the land too – there’s no need to make their acquaintance unless you want to though. 

The home is spacious, light and stylish, with quirky design details that show the owners’ passion for all things two-wheeled – check out the Rieju bike and the fully functioning bike workshop. Best of all though, there's a splendid saltwater pool surrounded by sun loungers and sunshine. 

A trip to Maria de la Salut’s Friday market is a great way to live like a local. Be sure to check out the 16th-century church on your way to the town square, where you can tuck into some local delicacies and sip wine. Can Picafort beach is just a fifteen-minute drive from the villa, so snorkelling and sandcastles are well within reach. 

Spend your evenings in town, or make the most of the villa’s outdoor space and dine under the pergola. The barbecue is ideal for easy dinners, and a great way to sample the local produce from the market.

This recently renovated 19th-century finca is the Mallorcan dream. Take in the vistas of the golden fields of Sant Joan from the terrace while you lounge by the emerald green pool. Later in the day, relax in the hammock, then enjoy a barbecue at sunset as the old mellow stone walls radiate their heat. Inside, we love the traditional features, such as exposed stone, wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors. 

If you fancy exploring, the town of Sant Joan is a five-minute drive, while the long, white sandy beach of Playa de Muro, popular with families, is just over thirty minutes in the car. Stylish Palma, on the other hand, is just over a forty-minute ride away, where you'll find an array of fine-dining spots and cool art galleries, as well as its honey-coloured Gothic cathedral.

The villa is modern and vibrant, with splashes of colour in every room. We love the kitchen and living space, which is the heart of the home. There’s plenty of room for everyone to gather together, whether you’re playing games in the living room or are cooking in the modern kitchen. 

Outside, the swimming pool sparkles in the sunshine. The roof terrace is where we’d be spending most of our time, soaking up the rays. Children will love playing ping pong and splashing about in the water – this is a great choice for families. In the evening, sip pre-dinner cocktails on the terrace as the sun sets – it’s a marvellous way to round off the day.

You can, coincidentally, read in that very same light by making yourself comfortable in the living space. Grab a book, brew a Dolce Gusto coffee, and put your feet up. 

With Playa de Muro only minutes away, you can of course also take your reading to the beach and spend the day laughing in the sun, baking in the sand, splashing in the surf, and taking holiday photos as ice creams melts down your hand, but leaving this home might be easier said than done.

The home's large glass doors bring plenty of sunshine inside the home and this natural asset is accentuated by the bright white walls and shiny wood flooring. There's a minimalist approach to furnishing and decoration, which has been executed really rather well. A big perk we have to mention is the private gym, which gives you no excuse not to keep up with your fitness regimen on your travels.

A short walk from the house, you'll find a small choice of restaurants and shops, but you'll find more in larger towns nearby, including Sineu and Inca. When it comes to outdoor excursions, you have two options – explore the hills and hiking routes in Mallorca's interior or drive over to the beach. Of course, you could simply stay put and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with this villa's tranquil location.
