This stunning villa was featured in a leading local design magazine, and it’s easy to see why. Inside, a predominantly white-and-blue colour scheme, high ceilings, stylish rattan furniture, and potted palms create a relaxing, breezy beach vibe that puts you at ease instantly. A choice of thirty fruit trees in the orchard, plus numerous vegetables and herbs in the garden, make it super easy to pick the ingredients for lunch. 

Whip up a sumptuous Mediterranean feast in the modern kitchen, and then round up everyone for a lazy meal in one of the numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas. Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. In part of the gardens you'll be greeted by the resident flock of sheep – feed them a few stalks of grass and they’ll love you to bits. 

If you manage to tear yourself away from this designer retreat, the village of Alaró has grocery stores, restaurants, and a trendy little gallery hosting exhibitions by local artists. The nightlife and beaches of Palma are a thirty-minute drive away. In the evening, wind down in the hot tub while sipping wine and taking in the views of the Alaró Mountains.

Use the juicer in the kitchen to make a refreshing drink and get comfy on the sofa before heading out.

Situated in the centre of the village of Binissalem, you'll find a restaurant 100 metres away, while the bus and rail stations are 200 metres and 300 metres, respectively. If you want to visit the white sandy beach of Puerto Alcudia, it's around 30 kilometres away. It's the same distance to the beautiful S'Albufera Muro nature park and 21 kilometres from the Golf Puntiro course.

After all that sightseeing, you can return home to this comfy abode, with its swimming pool and views over the area from its balcony. If any members of your group have limited mobility – there’s a ground-floor bedroom with a bathroom too.

For days on the sandy beach, drive twenty-seven minutes to Puerto d’Alcúdia. Or drive twenty-nine minutes to Palma and see the gothic cathedral, old town, wander the sands of the bay of Palma, or even enjoy the nightlife.

Step into this ancient Moorish home through an old door and let yourself be welcomed by an indoor courtyard, perfect for a refreshment before exploring the rest of the house. 

The white-washed nooks and crannies created in the 11th century have been modernised, but, with terracotta tiles, wood beams and honey-brown stone walls it still feels like an old Moorish retreat. Admire the mountains from the fragrant, bougainvillaea-shaded terrace with a barbecue on the go. Cool off in the plunge pool, surrounded by boho loungers. Get your yoga mat out in the studio and project your class on the walls before refreshing under the outdoor rooftop shower. This bean-bag-filled room doubles as a boho cinema pad too.

For the musical in the group, there’s a piano, and a library-style office if you need to catch up on emails. There are plenty of local restaurants for dinner. In the morning, directly access the hiking or cycling trails and creeks in the lush green landscape. Port de Soller and a swim in the ocean is only 15 minutes away by car too.

There's an extraordinary feel to this place just outside the pretty town of Sencelles. In Mallorca's rural heartland, it's surrounded by farming country and sits in its own vast grounds with fruit trees, lawns and huge palms. Overlooking the fields, you'll be in tune with the land and totally switched off from modern life's stresses and strains.

This finca dates back to around 1890. Built from local stone and using traditional tiles, fireplaces and beamed ceilings, it's a stylish blend of rustic features and contemporary (think dark wood furniture and shuttered windows alongside modern steel and glass). A local architect has taken this old farmhouse and given it new life – without losing any of the atmosphere.

Your living space flows naturally on the ground floor, with a stunning seating area with a window wall to one side and exposed stone walls to the other. Stylish, comfy sofas provide a perfect indoor retreat to sit and chat, while the indoor dining table is just steps from the sleek, all-white kitchen. Two of the bedrooms open to the garden, while a steel staircase leads up to the others.

But this home's real star power comes in the form of an immense outdoor pool. Measuring more than 1000sq ft, it's been built using the existing base of an old farm building and uses several repurposed architectural features. It's pretty impressive if we say so ourselves.

As you'd expect, there's no shortage of secret outdoor seating spots and places to read under a tree in total seclusion. You'll also have a large covered terrace with a table and a barbecue. And here's a quirky little addition: if you thought the walk downstairs to the pool was too long from the main bedroom, the architect has installed some exterior metal steps so it only takes a moment.

Nearby, explore Sencelles and the surrounding villages, head off on hikes and bike rides, visit the local historic sites or drive to the coast for a day by the sea. Thanks to its location in the centre of the island, it's easy to get around by car.

Bursting with artisan shops and delicious eateries, Deiá is one of Mallorca's most vibrant villages. Its cobbled alleys and picturesque architecture have inspired countless artists and writers over the centuries, and this home puts you within striking distance of all it has to offer. The interiors are minimalist and natural, with traditional stone and wood accents adding a characterful touch. But there's no denying that the showstopper here is the terrace. This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.

There's plenty to do at this home, and you may not want to leave your peaceful oasis, but if you want a taste of Mallorca, get into your car and take the half–hour drive to the rugged coastline, where sweeping cliffs and white–sand beaches await.

Adriana

Located in Alaró, a small village at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, this villa encourages a family or a group of friends to take advantage of the Mallorcan sunshine. There’s a private pool for splashing about with your nearest and dearest and two alfresco dining areas for lazy dinners that last well into the evening. While some elements of the home are a little dated, overall, the place is clean, functional and comfortable. Keen to explore? Palma, the island’s capital, is around a thirty-minute drive away.

Right in the heart of Mallorca’s wine region, and with views of the Tramuntana Mountains, you’ll find this marvellous home. It’s a splendid option for families seeking quality time together, as everything you might need is here to hand. 

Little ones will adore the play area, with climbing frames and a slide. There’s also a trampoline, basketball hoop and football goal – add in the table football and there’s no way anyone will complain of being bored here. While they’re tiring themselves out in the garden, you can enjoy a relaxing dip in the swimming pool – savour the peace and quiet before the splashing and jumping begins. 

Peals of laughter and whoops of joy aside, this is a peaceful home. Lush green meadows surround the villa, with olive, pine and cypress trees adding to the lush outside space. As you doze on a sun lounger or drink in the incredible mountain views from the balcony terrace, you’ll enjoy the scent of pine on the breeze. 

Spend your evenings dining on the covered terrace. Perhaps you’ll fire up the barbecue, and while away the hours sipping wine and sharing stories. You’ll make memories here that last a lifetime. 


Cypress & Pine

Set in the village of Sóller, this home feels like a lavish piece of Mallorca's history. From its beamed dining room with long oak tables to the sweeping staircase, it’s all old-world charm in here. An industrial kitchen is the newest part of the building, and will help even the most amateur of chefs whip up an impressive feast. Divided into two buildings (though the annexe requires a fee to use), the home is centred around the main house where most of the bedrooms are found, and each is as stately as the next, with four-poster beds, comfy sofas, and en suites with tiled baths ensuring that everyone feels like royalty. But not even the stunning architecture can compete with the Mother Nature – from the windows to the terraces and balconies, the mountain views are what crowns this place for us. 

Slip on your favourite eveningwear, sweep across the swirling tiled floors, and spend evenings gorging underneath the tree-covered patio. A private pool and sun loungers are on hand for recuperating, while small stone balconies can be found in every corner – perfect for sipping your morning cup of coffee on. 

Should you feel the need to leave the villa, Sóller is a pretty old town with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Perhaps take the chocolate-box train to Port de Sóller for a seafood feast by the harbourside, or into Palma to soak up some Mallorcan history and culture. 

Tatiana

There is something grand and historic about this Mallorcan villa. Not only is it a veritable palace, but it’s just outside the historic heart of Soller, right next to a supermarket and a short stroll from traditional bars, restaurants and the winding streets of the town centre. From Soller, you can take the charming chocolate box tram to Port de Soller for a day at the beach, or head all the way to Palma in the other direction.

In the grounds of the villa, you’ll find Grecian-style columns lining the pool terrace and towering greenery secluding the garden from view. An inviting Roman-style swimming pool takes pride of place, surrounded by a perfectly manicured lawn. The stonework of the patio and an old well add an air of fairytale nostalgia, alongside twisting grapevines covering the iron arbour. Underneath, shaded by vines, you’ve got a plush seating area and dining for the whole group.

Inside, you’ll find a grand dining room with room for up to eighteen. Huge group meals can be cooked in the professional-style kitchen which wouldn’t look out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant in sleek steel and chrome. Dark wood furniture like tea chests and ornately carved dressers give off a sense of grandeur. But it’s the bedrooms that really made us feel like we were in a palace – think four-posters beds and headboards swathed with satin curtains. 

Palatial Dream

This enchanting holiday home is the kind you find yourself daydreaming of long after you’ve unpacked your suitcases and returned to your normal life. It’s an oasis tucked away along a cobbled path lined with trees and shrubs, with spectacular views of the mountains that surround the village. 

The house was built over 300 years ago, and the original stone walls keep it deliciously cool even in the hottest part of the day. It's been thoughtfully restored so it combines the original architecture with everything modern holidaymakers might need. You’ll find an attractive blend of local Binissalem stone, Mediterranean wood and woven textiles, which create a cool, calm aesthetic. 

Unusually for buildings in Deia, this home has terraces that enjoy the sun from morning until evening, maximising your time to soak up the rays. There’s plenty of space for reading in the shade as well as for sun-worshippers. A covered dining set with a white stone bench is the perfect spot for alfresco meals and glasses of Spanish wine.

You can stroll into Deia in three minutes to sip coffee or enjoy music in the evenings. Days at the beach are also an easy-breezy affair – it takes ten minutes to drive to gorgeous Cala Deia. You can be back in time to watch the sunset from one of the terraces.

Lie low for a while at this exquisitely private and traditional Finca set deep in the heartland of the Mallorcan countryside on a thirty-acre estate, and yet just twenty minutes from the coast. 

Every corner of this 200-year-old Finca delivers pure Mallorcan charm. Outside there are elegantly furnished terraces (so many, we've lost count) to soak up the vistas of the rolling countryside and mountains beyond. And inside, cool terracotta tiles, wooden beams, and antique treasures bring all the hacienda vibes. 

Sunny mornings call for coffee and lazy breakfasts on the terrace, then follow the meandering paths leading to an impressive saltwater pool for a cooling dip. Hugged by established gardens brimming with lemon and orange groves (G&T, anyone?), it would be impossible not to relax here. And when it's time to beat the heat, even on the hottest of summer days, inside the house feels cool and breezy with the shutters and windows flung open. 

Should you ever be convinced to leave this luxurious home, you'll find the handsome rural town of Algaida, with its wander-worthy narrow streets and authentic eateries, less than a ten-minute drive away. And a little further, the mighty Palma and the white sands of Illetas Beach (a twenty-minute drive).

Hacienda Dreaming

With a breathtaking setting and a private pool, this home delivers an irresistible island escape. Gazing out across the mountains, the terraces are perfectly positioned for blissful days at home. There’s also a barbecue and a sound system – setting the tone for total relaxation. It’s worth noting this home does not have air conditioning, but fans are provided and the elevated location means there is often a sea breeze. Private parking is available for one car and you’ll find plenty to explore in the surroundings. The centre of Deià is within easy reach, while the nearest beaches are a short drive away.

Welcome to the jungle – or at least, Mallorca's version of it. The craggy backbone of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage status for their untouched beauty – and nestled amongst the peaks and foliage, you'll find the sleepy little village of Fornalutx and this swoon-worthy villa. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Port de Sóller and the beach, this is the perfect spot to soak up the island's traditional atmosphere.

This charming and rather unique place rises up from the lush greenery like an ancient temple – though we doubt many of those featured an enormous indoor pool, a spacious garden for you to bask in the sunshine, and a dining terrace with one of the best views we've ever seen. We're already picturing morning breakfasts on the terrace, afternoon swims in the pool and evening cocktails as the sun goes down over the village.

Inside, it's just as lovely as its backdrop, with period features and antique furniture providing a quintessentially Mallorcan touch. We love the comfortable lounge area, with big sofas all centred around the stone fireplace, as well as the enormous bedrooms with roomy en-suites. But our favourite has to be the double-height dining hall. With its chandelier and ornately-carved table, it's crying out for a formal family meal – come dinnertime, enjoy tapas, a bottle of wine and good conversation as the breeze blows through the French doors.
