This villa is everything we want from a place in the southeast of Mallorca. Step-free access and three downstairs bedrooms mean it’s suitable for those with limited mobility, while the upstairs bedroom has its own en-suite and balcony – perfect for those who’d like some privacy. You’ll notice holiday knick-knacks dotted about, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but we think they’re charming. It’s the outside space that really steals the show – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool and summer kitchen. Most importantly, there’s a sandy beach 700 metres away and Caló del Moro is easily reached by car.

This part of the island also boasts dramatic cliffs which have formed secret coves to have all to yourself. And while they might not be on your maps app, the locals will be happy to help you find them. But sometimes, when the sun is beating down, you just want a stretch of soft sand to spend the day. Set back from a green natural park lies S'Amarador and Cala Mondragó – think crystal clear waters and sparkling white sand, just a seventeen or twenty-three-minute drive away. And if you want to experience a quaint Mallorcan fishing village, Cala Figuera is just eight minutes by car. Tuck in to freshly caught seafood while looking out at the glittering Mediterranean sea.

Because it's a little more traditional – which you'll be able to spot in the beamed ceilings, exposed brick walls and decorative touches – it might feel a little dated, but it's comfortable and pretty. The magic happens outside, where you can unwind poolside or pick up the pace on the private tennis court – the swing set is a bonus for kids. The outdoor kitchen with a stone-built barbecue makes alfresco dining easy, but restaurants lie towards Cas Concos and the charming Santanyi if you'd rather not cook.

We think you'll want a car here to get the most out of your stay – one of the island's picturesque coves is just a short walk from your doorstep, while the colourful town of Santanyí is just a short drive away with its local restaurants and weekly markets.

This rural home, comprising a main house and another one-bedroom villa is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and authentic holiday in Mallorca. This traditional villa sits on the edge of sleepy S’Horta where it provides a great location for a family getaway. From here, you can walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, plus it’s just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Cala D’Or. This sun-soaked home has everything you want from a Mallorcan getaway – endless sea views, a private balcony, unfussy interiors and a five-minute walk from the beach. The architects of this apartment had indoor-outdoor living at the forefront when designing this space. A wall of glass gives way to the outside space where a bistro set up calls for slap-up suppers that last well into the evening. 

Inside, white-washed walls and natural textures combine to create a relaxing environment that’s a pleasure to relax in. We particularly loved the pink striped couch, adding a touch of whimsy to the place. When you’re not penning smug postcards at the dining table, you’ll be strolling along the soft sands of S'illot Beach or taking day trips to the charming towns of Portocolom on the east coast, reached in thirty minutes by car, and Alcúdia in the north, less than an hour’s drive away.

Al Claro de Luna

Building this home was the realisation of a life-long dream for the owner, whose family worked the land for generations – you can tell a lot of love has been poured into the villa. It’s a comfortable and welcoming home, ideal for families. We love the outside space, with a private pool, open and covered terraces, and incredible panoramic views of the rolling countryside surrounding the home. You can even spot the Tramuntana mountains in the distance. The nearest beach is around fifteen minutes away by car, so we recommend hiring a car. 

The Green Heart

From here, you'll be just 270 metres away from the turquoise shores of Cala d'Or Beach and its bars and restaurants, as well as walking distance from the likes of Cala Esmeralda, Cala Ferrera, Cala Serena and Cala Gran.

Halfway between Palma and Port d'Alcúdia, this rustic villa is a quintessentially Mallorcan escape. You'll appreciate the peace and quiet that comes with the rural setting, and the mountain views in the distance make a postcard-worthy backdrop for your holidays.

The inside is warm and inviting – there's a roomy living area, comfortable bedrooms and even a ping-pong table. But, with the shining sun and blue skies waiting outside, you'll surely spend your days outdoors. In the mornings, pad out to the terrace and enjoy a cup of coffee on the cosy outdoor sofas and bask in the fresh air. Make your way down to the sun-drenched garden for an afternoon spent swimming in the private pool, snoozing on the lounge chairs and snacking on grilled meals whipped up on the barbecue. Come evening, gather around the alfresco dining table for a Spanish feast as the stars come out – it's the perfect excuse to open a bottle of wine and toast your getaway. 

Location-wise, you're just a stone's throw from Inca, Mallorca's third-largest town. Known for its leather-making workshop, wine cellars housing local restaurants, and weekly market, it's a charming village that has all you need. Fancy a day trip? Buzzing Palma is about a twenty-five-minute drive away, or if you're keen on the sea, Port d'Alcúdia and the island's northern beaches are about half an hour by car.

From the moment we pulled up outside and saw the setting, we were in love with this gorgeous stone-built home with its mesmerising views over the Mediterranean. Relax on the comfy L-shaped sofa in the stylish living room and drink them in or head to the mezzanine sitting room. Our favourite spot is the Eames-style rocking chair in the bedroom with its lovely beams. 

Outdoors is beautiful, too, and wonderfully private and secluded, thanks to its warm stone walls. Cook up a Mallorcan feast in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it on the shaded terrace surrounded by cacti and potted palms. Then laze on the sunbeds in the Balearic sun – that's our kind of holiday. This place is absolutely perfect for families.

The location is great too – the charming town of Port de Pollença, with its restaurants and shops, as well as the fine sandy beach, is just three minutes by car, while Can Cullerassa Beach, used mainly by locals, is under 50 metres away.
