The coastline of Son Serra is only 200 metres from this home, but don't be surprised if the villa's outdoor space keeps you away from the beach – for a while at least. The swimming pool is sure to see plenty of use during Mallorca's warmer months, while it's just as easy to relax on the surrounding loungers or on the shady verandah complete with an outdoor kitchen. We're also fond of the home itself, which has the feel of a miniature palace thanks to the array of traditional design touches.

If you’re looking for a holiday home suitable for several families travelling together, you can stop scrolling. This villa is perfect for large groups – it’s spread over three floors, and each floor has its own living room and terrace or balcony. You can holiday together while still enjoying your own space – what more could you ask for? Of course, those three floors mean that there are quite a few stairs here, so this home might not be suitable for everyone. With views out over the azure waters of Alcudia Bay from the upper floor and set against a stunning mountain backdrop, this charming seaside home is perfect for family getaways to Mallorca's beautiful northern coast. 

Just 100m from the sea, the scene is set for slow starts looking out over the Mediterranean from the main bedroom's private balcony, followed by breakfast out on the terrace as sea birds circle overhead. With the mercury rising, make your way down to the rocky shores for a day of sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. Adventurous types might like to grab the kayak out of the garage and set off along the shore for a whole different perspective on your picturesque surroundings.

A couple of kilometres away, the charming former fishing village of Colonia de Sant Pere attracts visitors with its seaside promenade, yacht-lined marina and golden sandy beach. It’s just a short stroll from Son Bauló beach (500 metres away), and you’ll find shops and restaurants close by. We suggest hiring a car to explore the beautiful beaches further along the coast – Port d'Alcúdia and Playa de Muro are less than a twenty-minute drive away. Your host can also help arrange car rentals, as well as nice extras like private chefs and spa treatments. There are steps leading down to the terrace and pool, so children will need to be supervised here but overall there’s plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together.

This delightful haven is located in Son Bauló, a friendly and serene urbanisation within Can Picafort. Start the day with a visit to Can Picafort, a delightfully vibrant spot with everything you'd expect to find on an active beach holiday - and it wouldn't be a complete holiday without grabbing an ice cream to cool you down from the hot sunshine. 

Return home after a long day at the beach, possibly snorkelling, surfing, or kayaking in the crystal clear blue water - your home is waiting for you with a cosy yet elegant feel. Enjoy the beautifully designed garden that wraps around the house, creating a calming but entertaining environment for you to enjoy to the fullest by watching the sunset with a glass of good wine and using the barbecue on the patio, ready for some sizzling. This tranquil farmhouse is tucked away in the scenic and wild mountain landscapes of Mallorca, in the picturesque medieval town of Artá. We think it's a good choice for small families wanting a quiet stay in nature, as your host can provide some free baby equipment. The private pool and sun loungers let you enjoy views of the castle over the mountains, and the charming weekly market is around 2km away. The road up to the home isn't in the best condition, so you'll need a larger car for the terrain. It's not far to drive to the nearest beaches and golf courses on Mallorca's coast, though.

Midsummer's Magic

Sat in the middle of a 740-acre site in the north of Mallorca, this stone finca is blessed with dreamy views of Mont Farrutx and the Mediterranean Sea beyond. Given the colossal size of the grounds, there are plenty of spots from which you can enjoy this vista and a welcome lack of neighbours or passers-by to disturb you.

Despite this wide choice of vantage points, we're willing to bet that the majority of time will be spent splashing about in the swimming pool, catching some rays on the surrounding loungers or enjoying barbecued feasts while sitting underneath the towering palm trees.

The interior of the home is traditional in style, with period features, such as the wooden ceiling beams and exposed stone walls, complemented by an impressive collection of antique furnishings and large framed artwork. The dining table positioned underneath an opulent chandelier is sure to add a sense of occasion to indoor mealtimes, too.

As you can probably guess from the sea view, there's a fantastic selection of beaches nearby, including Platja de Son Serra de Marina only thirteen minutes' drive away. The charming fishing village of Colònia de Sant Pere is ten minutes away in the car too for when you're after bars and restaurants.

Due to its secluded location, we’d recommend having a car as the nearest supermarket and restaurant is 2 kilometres away in Artá. Other attractions include Beach Canyamel 9 kilometres away, while there’s a golf course 4 kilometres from this home.

As you ascend the tree-lined drive and approach this majestic villa, set amongst olive groves on a private estate surrounded by mountains, just 3km from Arta and 10km from the beach, you'll think you've landed in the middle of a novel. The inside doesn't disappoint; the classic mix of stone walls, terracotta tiles and exposed wooden beams creates a rustic feel that is offset by a hint of grandeur introduced by a mix of antique wood and beautifully upholstered furniture. The fenced off swimming pool will put parent's minds at ease, and you can flit between the pretty patio and the poolside terrace for your morning coffee and cocktail hour.

This home is over 100 years old and is full of charm. It’s been lovingly updated so the historic charm remains, but you’ll also find modern amenities like a hydromassage bathtub. It’s in an elevated position so offers excellent views of Mallorca’s countryside. Beautiful Artà is just 3 kilometres away, and is a lovely spot for tapas bars. You’ll need a car to get the most out of your stay here, unless you’re content to spend your stay dozing beside the pool and cooking on the barbecue for alfresco feasts – which certainly has its appeal.

The design isn't the most inspired – some rooms are a little flashy for our liking – but Mallorca's fantastic weather won't have you staying indoors for long.

Among the evergreen pine trees and boasting magnificent forest views, this luxurious villa enjoys an elevated position over the Mediterranean Sea. The infinity pool provides a place to cool off from the Majorcan heat whenever you like, as well as impressive mountain scenery.

If you fancy exploring your surroundings, the unspoiled coast is just a short drive away, as is the fascinating Old Town of Alcudia. Whether you prefer sand or cobbles beneath your feet, there's a whole lot of nature, history and heritage to discover on this part of the island. 

When you get home, we highly recommend a seafood barbecue, which is best enjoyed alfresco under the shade of the pergola. After dinner, head up to the balcony with a glass of wine to enjoy a spectacular sunset from the swinging egg chair, followed by a relaxing bubble bath in the freestanding tub.

Snuggle up on the sofa to watch a movie on the TV, accompanied by a freshly opened bottle of wine. As you wander through the home, you'll find that there is a wonderful amount of natural daylight that streams in through the windows, especially the courtyard doors. The sleek wooden kitchen is the perfect spot to whip up a fruity dessert or a savoury feast. 

Tuck into tasty plates of food at the wooden dining table, lit up by the sunlight. There's also a dining table outdoors if you're fancying a delightful alfresco experience,  followed by enjoying a rich cup of coffee under the shade of the trees. One of our favourite areas of this home is the workspace, fitted with a standalone bath where you can admire the rural view as you unwind in the bubbles. The refreshing pool is positioned directly under the sun, where you can bathe in not only the rippling water but also the radiant sunshine.

Wander through the charming Santa Margalida village, or travel to the center of Mallorca. There's a beach not too far away with gorgeous white sands and sparkling waters. Visit a wide range of eateries that serve up traditional local cuisine, including a sumptuous beachside paella. You'll also come across the buzz of the Picafort and Puerto de Alcudia promenades.

This home caught our eye with its mountain views and beautiful location. Nestled in the countryside of Cielo de Bonaire, there’s plenty to explore here. From hiking trails and nearby beaches to the bustling heart of Alcúdia, this is a great option for families. You will need a car to get around, but free private parking is available. There is also a private pool and plenty of chill out spots to relax both inside and out. The main bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony, while the room with bunk beds is a sweet option for kids.

Perfect for a family or group of friends, this achingly gorgeous villa offers plenty of outside space to sprawl out, unwind and bask in the Alcúdia sun. The biggest draw is, of course, the private swimming pool, complete with poolside sun loungers and pretty trees providing dappled shade. Stepping inside, you'll find wooden ceiling beams and stone archways that keep things reassuringly rustic. There's a homey feel in the blue colour scheme and stylish furnishings that will soon have you feeling at ease, while the modern kitchen will make breakfast a breeze.

When it's time to head out, pack your seaside essentials and hit the beach – you're a short stroll from Bonaire's sandy beaches and sparkling marina. There's a selection of fine dining restaurants and bars dotted along the waterfront to seek out.

Just a short stroll from Alcanada beach, this villa makes an ideal family getaway on the Mallorcan coast. If you’re bringing little ones, they’ll need to be supervised in the outdoor area as the pool’s not fenced and there’s a drop at the end of the pool, but this sun-kissed space is perfect for lazy afternoons at home – albeit a little overlooked by the neighbouring home. If you need some respite from the sun, there’s even a games room here, providing an easy way to while away the hours.

Given the beautiful sea views from the balcony of this family-friendly villa, it's unsurprising that Na Patana Beach lies only a short stroll away. Playa del Muro can also be reached on foot and is a scenic option for beach lovers. This home capitalises on its location, with a rooftop terrace offering ample seating and an opportunity for alfresco dining. Though the bold interior style here might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's well-kept and comfortable. An en-suite bathroom in nearly every bedroom also adds another level of privacy for each member of your group.

Mallorcan Serenity

If you love to immerse yourself in nature, it’s time to stop scrolling. Nestled in the countryside, surrounded by farm animals, this is a true escape from it all. Here, you can pick fruit from the trees and gather fresh eggs from the chickens – as an added bonus, a welcome pack will be waiting for you with a bottle of wine and a Mallorcan dessert. There’s no wi-fi here, but we don’t think you’ll notice. If you’re not soaking up the sun and countryside vistas, you can drive to the beach in Son Baulo for a day on the coast.

Situated in the historic centre of Alcudia, this home is close to a beach (900 metres away) while Puerto Alcudia is around 2 kilometres from this abode. If you want a refreshing dip, you don’t have to go anywhere, though, as there’s a small private pool in the courtyard garden with its palm trees and mellow stone walls. Inside there are plenty of character features, as well as a wood burner for chillier nights. A highlight, for sure, is the large main bedroom with its bank of wardrobe space – there’s plenty of room for all of your clothes, no matter how long you stay.

Blessed with breathtaking views over the Bay of Pollença, this spectacular family-friendly villa offers a chance to escape to the upmarket tree-lined residential area of Bonaire.

This stunning home has been designed from the ground up to make the most of its privileged position. Practically the entire front of the house is taken up with vast picture windows, a poolside terrace and inviting balconies, ensuring you're able to appreciate the panoramas wherever you decide to make yourself comfortable. 

An open layout on the entrance level ensures plenty of space for your party to gather together without feeling like you're on top of one another. At the same time, sliding doors offer effortless access to those breathtaking balconies and outdoor seating areas.

Four en-suite bedrooms are split across the entrance and lower levels, offering either an elevated position that will see you wake up to the morning sun glinting off the sea or seamless access to the poolside loungers for the ultimate morning coffee by the water's edge. Two of the bedrooms even offer walk-in wardrobes, so you can pack for every possible eventuality. 

Away from the villa, Alcúdia's Old Town is just a short drive away. Here, you'll find colourful streets dotted with family-owned restaurants and independent boutiques, encircled by medieval walls. A little further on is the enticing stretch of sand that leads up to Port d’Alcúdia, while the awe-inspiring Cap de Formentor is well worth exploring.


Across the Bay

You’ll find this stone finca in the heart of Mallorca, a short drive from the towns of Ariany and Petra. The interiors are laidback and inviting – there’s an open-plan living space for kicking back with your morning coffee and a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need for trying your hand at cooking up traditional Mallorcan recipes. 

We think you’ll spend most of your time in the garden, though, lounging by the shimmering pool and sipping an ice-cold beverage as cicadas rattle in the surrounding trees. When the heat starts to rise, cool off with a gentle swim or seek out a shaded spot on the patio. 

If exploring is on the agenda, pack your beach essentials and drive over to Platja Sa Canova or why not spend the day exploring Alcúdia? We recommend visiting the neo-Gothic Sant Jaume church before enjoying a seafood supper by the port. 

All This and Heaven Too

Revel in the peace and solitude of the Mallorcan countryside when you stay at this stylish home, which was once a farmhouse. This villa really intrigued us with its unusual mix of red render and warm exposed stone. Relax on the daybeds by the beautiful pool, which has been converted from an ancient reservoir. Surrounded by manicured gardens and mature trees – take in the views of the mountains and truly unwind.

We love so much about this place, but the enclosed courtyard garden draped with sheer black fabric and dotted with lush plants is magical – take a seat on the Acapulco-style chairs with a glass of wine. Then there's the huge living room which is something else. Here, you'll find luxurious leather sofas, a modern fireplace and a wall lined with books – it's perfect for some "me" time. This house is ideal for a family or group of friends as there's plenty of space to spread out, and two bedrooms can only be accessed from outside, giving them added privacy.

Although located in a quiet countryside setting, this home is just a short distance from the town of Manacor. It's the second largest town in Mallorca, so you'll find plenty of shops and a bustling market. There's also a golf course and some of the best beaches on the island, such as Son Serra, a short drive away.


The Red Shoes

From the moment we pulled up outside and saw the setting, we were in love with this gorgeous stone-built home with its mesmerising views over the Mediterranean. Relax on the comfy L-shaped sofa in the stylish living room and drink them in or head to the mezzanine sitting room. Our favourite spot is the Eames-style rocking chair in the bedroom with its lovely beams. 

Outdoors is beautiful, too, and wonderfully private and secluded, thanks to its warm stone walls. Cook up a Mallorcan feast in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it on the shaded terrace surrounded by cacti and potted palms. Then laze on the sunbeds in the Balearic sun – that's our kind of holiday. This place is absolutely perfect for families.

The location is great too – the charming town of Port de Pollença, with its restaurants and shops, as well as the fine sandy beach, is just three minutes by car, while Can Cullerassa Beach, used mainly by locals, is under 50 metres away.
