The master suite has its own private lounge and balcony, making it a bit of a haven for those travelling with children. From the moment we pulled up outside and saw the setting, we were in love with this gorgeous stone-built home with its mesmerising views over the Mediterranean. Relax on the comfy L-shaped sofa in the stylish living room and drink them in or head to the mezzanine sitting room. Our favourite spot is the Eames-style rocking chair in the bedroom with its lovely beams. 

Outdoors is beautiful, too, and wonderfully private and secluded, thanks to its warm stone walls. Cook up a Mallorcan feast in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it on the shaded terrace surrounded by cacti and potted palms. Then laze on the sunbeds in the Balearic sun – that's our kind of holiday. This place is absolutely perfect for families.

The location is great too – the charming town of Port de Pollença, with its restaurants and shops, as well as the fine sandy beach, is just three minutes by car, while Can Cullerassa Beach, used mainly by locals, is under 50 metres away.

Lie low for a while at this exquisitely private and traditional Finca set deep in the heartland of the Mallorcan countryside on a thirty-acre estate, and yet just twenty minutes from the coast. 

Every corner of this 200-year-old Finca delivers pure Mallorcan charm. Outside there are elegantly furnished terraces (so many, we've lost count) to soak up the vistas of the rolling countryside and mountains beyond. And inside, cool terracotta tiles, wooden beams, and antique treasures bring all the hacienda vibes. 

Sunny mornings call for coffee and lazy breakfasts on the terrace, then follow the meandering paths leading to an impressive saltwater pool for a cooling dip. This rural home, comprising a main house and another one-bedroom villa is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and authentic holiday in Mallorca. There are covered terraces, fruit trees, a pool, hammocks, and a 'chill-out' style bar area with sofas and a large table for alfresco meals. Decorated in the classic Mallorcan rural style, some may find this place a bit dated in parts, but if that doesn't worry you, there's plenty to explore out and about. It’s 5 kilometres from the town of Porreres, where you can find restaurants on the pretty square and a weekly market every Tuesday.

When it's time to head out, pack your seaside essentials and hit the beach – you're a short stroll from Bonaire's sandy beaches and sparkling marina. There's a selection of fine dining restaurants and bars dotted along the waterfront to seek out.

Perched on a cliff just outside of Port Adriano, this impressive home has to be seen to be believed. Boasting an infinity pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, and every amenity you could ask for, this home makes holidays to Mallorca extra special. 

The double bedrooms look out to sea, so you can wake up to the soothing sight of bobbing waves and yachts passing by. This home has been designed to make the most of the superlative views afforded by the cliff-top setting, so you can expect lots of glass – the turquoise of the sea becomes part of the colour palette. 

The villa is just a five-minute drive from Port Adriano, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and the port, of course. From here you can set sail on a boat tour of the coast or, if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, simply sip coffee as you watch the boats pull in. A day trip to Palma might also be on the cards – it’s thirty-five minutes away. There you can stroll the historic streets, dine in top-notch restaurants and explore galleries and museums – it’s well worth the journey. 

After a day spent seeing the sights, head back to the villa to swim in the infinity pool or lounge in a day bed. The small indoor pool proves tempting in the evening when you can see the stars through sliding glass doors. There’s also a telescope set up in the living room for keen stargazers. 

Round off your day by watching the magnificent sunset with a glass of something chilled. This isn’t the kind of holiday you quickly forget.

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

Bright and stylish, this villa makes for an excellent base in Mallorca. It’s just outside of Puerto de Andratx, so the shops, cafes and restaurants of the town are a short drive away, but it feels like a real escape. The villa sits on the coast with stunning views of the sea – it’s a holiday haven. 

We love the stylish decor here. Each room is chic and attractive, with windows that flood the space with sunshine. The prominence of windows also means that the glorious coastal views become part of the decor – from waking up to drifting off to sleep, you can look forward to wonderful sea views and clear skies. 

Of course, with such beautiful vistas outside, you’ll probably want to spend as much time as possible in the fresh air. Soak up the sun on a lounger, and slip into the private swimming pool to cool off when the sun is at its most sizzling. Doze in the shade on the terrace, read books, or simply drink in the views while feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. 

In the evening, try your hand at whipping up fresh paella with local seafood. Sit around the table on the terrace and dine beneath the stars, revelling in the tranquillity of this stunning home-from-home. A few days here is good for the soul – you’ll leave feeling oh-so-refreshed.

Seating nooks are tucked into crumbling alcoves and alfresco dining is surrounded by old olive barrels and the farm’s stone well. A built-in stone barbecue provides the rustic farm feast and there’s a second dining area beneath a curtained gazebo. Slip into the L-shaped swimming pool and unwind with nothing but fields and hills before you. 

Heading inside, you’ve got several seating spaces for the whole group to spread out – the grand, stone-vaulted lounge and dining area,  rocking chairs in hallways packed with curious artworks (we love the vintage moped), and a tucked-away living room in white and dove-grey. The kitchen still has its 19th-century hearth as a striking feature, but you’ll find all the mod cons and appliances of the 21st-century filling the cupboards too. 

The villa sits in unspoiled countryside with beautiful views of the hills all around, but it’s just a few minutes' drive into the centre of Llucmajor for supermarkets and restaurants. If you fancy a day of culture and history, Palma is just a twenty-minute drive away.

Due to the remote location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for your stay – the center of Valldemossa is less than a ten-minute drive away.

The architects of this apartment had indoor-outdoor living at the forefront when designing this space. A wall of glass gives way to the outside space where a bistro set up calls for slap-up suppers that last well into the evening. 

Inside, white-washed walls and natural textures combine to create a relaxing environment that’s a pleasure to relax in. We particularly loved the pink striped couch, adding a touch of whimsy to the place.
