Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac above Deia, this villa offers up incredible views of the Tramuntana mountain range that envelopes the town. Stretch out in the sun during the day, perhaps enjoying a siesta in one of the shaded seating areas, before gazing out across the village as you watch the sunset. Come bedtime, one lucky couple has their own private garden and entrance here – perfect for newlyweds or the patriarch and matriarch of the family. While the lack of parking means you won't be driving, you're just a short stroll from the town centre, where you can feast on local cuisine or grab some transport to one of the nearby beaches. 

The Rooftop Paradise

With idyllic scenes of olive trees and blossoming bougainvillea, this home perfectly embodies the majestic beauty of Mallorca. Nestled between the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, you’ll be perfectly placed for blissful island days. You can stroll into the heart of Deià and Belmond’s La Residencia is moments away. Plus, you’ll have a private pool and a garden where you can sit back and admire the magical horizon. Inside, the rooms are just as impressive with interior features by the likes of Roche Bobois and Ralph Lauren. Your host is also on hand to help organise a range of extra services – including catering and wellness treatments. 

Peach Sunlight

Perched on a hill with far-reaching valley and mountain views, this home is a true escape from it all. Soak up the vistas from the private saltwater pool, sip sundowners on the sun-kissed terrace, or kick back and enjoy an alfresco meal – you'll have not one, but two outdoor dining areas to choose from. Inside, your host has thought of everything – there's even a zen room for practising yoga (complete with a breathtaking mountain view). If you can tear yourself away, Port Soller and Soller Village are a mere five-minute drive away. 

The Citrus House

Set in the village of Sóller, this home feels like a lavish piece of Mallorca's history. From its beamed dining room with long oak tables to the sweeping staircase, it’s all old-world charm in here. An industrial kitchen is the newest part of the building, and will help even the most amateur of chefs whip up an impressive feast. Divided into two buildings (though the annexe requires a fee to use), the home is centred around the main house where most of the bedrooms are found, and each is as stately as the next, with four-poster beds, comfy sofas, and en suites with tiled baths ensuring that everyone feels like royalty. But not even the stunning architecture can compete with the Mother Nature – from the windows to the terraces and balconies, the mountain views are what crowns this place for us. 

Slip on your favourite eveningwear, sweep across the swirling tiled floors, and spend evenings gorging underneath the tree-covered patio. A private pool and sun loungers are on hand for recuperating, while small stone balconies can be found in every corner – perfect for sipping your morning cup of coffee on. 

Should you feel the need to leave the villa, Sóller is a pretty old town with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Perhaps take the chocolate-box train to Port de Sóller for a seafood feast by the harbourside, or into Palma to soak up some Mallorcan history and culture. 

Tatiana

With a view that cries out for an infinity pool, this hillside villa gets its wish. When your fingers start getting pruney from hanging out at the edge of the water, jump in the outdoor shower and dry out on the sun loungers and shaded sofas. There's a lovely terrace for an evening drink and a barbecue, so you can cook dinner without losing sight of the mountains. This villa feels nicely secluded, despite being a two-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in the enchanting village centre of Deià. 

Inside, there'll be no arguing over bathrooms – each bedroom, two of which have a sea view, has its own en-suite. We love the walk-in showers and the walk-in closet has enough space for your entire wardrobe – there's no need to live out of your suitcase here. If there's someone in your party that needs to stay connected or have a quiet place to work, one of the bedrooms affords them a comfortable office nook. There's an extra room on the second floor adjoining a laundry room, with a small bathroom and a kitchen if you need extra space. Get outside for a mountain hike, take advantage of the well-equipped gym, or siesta all day – this setting will leave you refreshed and reinvigorated.

Por Siempre

In west Mallorca, lush green landscapes create colourful scenery in the Tramuntana mountains. From this hilly terrain, you can drive to the rugged coast in fifteen minutes, or explore the mountains to find stately homes like La Granja d'Esporles. And just a twenty-minute walk from this rural manor, you can stay in your very own modern-day version. 

This home is truly a garden of earthly delights. Like its surroundings, the private, fenced grounds are verdant and fresh. Made up of three traditional stone buildings, your countryside finca dream will come to life. A saltwater pool is the centrepiece, while rocking chairs, wicker dining sets, and a hanging egg chair give you plenty of options for taking in the sun. Let the kids run wild around the garden, with the table football and swing set keeping them busy while you pick fresh oranges and almonds from the trees.

Traditional, countryside life continues inside. The main building houses a rustic living space, where you can relax alongside timber beams, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning stove. In the kitchen and dining building, find exposed stonework and a vintage wooden dining table. This space exudes a warmth that will feel even better when the whole family is gathered round for a wholesome dinner.

The Trinity

It’s the sun terrace, swimming pool and amazing mountain views that grab your attention, but this achingly beautiful villa offers a pretty special location too. With the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana as its backdrop, the picture-perfect, typically Mediterranean village of Deià is just a short two-minute stroll away, with its indie shops, galleries, restaurants and tapas bars – an afternoon wandering through the narrow streets will have you feeling like a local in no time. Then, take the thirty-minute walk downhill to the pebble cove of Cala Deià, where you can watch the boats and fishermen bring in their day's catch while enjoying some of the best seafood on the island. Still looking for places to explore? Put on your hiking boots and uncover the paths and ancient mule tracks across the natural landscape behind the villa. Return home for a lie down on your sun lounger and breathe in the tranquil Mallorquin countryside. And if you visit in cooler months, there’s a wood burning fire in the lounge to keep things extra cosy. Otherwise, gather your ensemble for an alfresco dinner on the veranda terrace and say cheers to Balearic living. 

The Blue Shutters

Hidden away in the stunning Sierra Tramuntana above the picturesque village of Esporles, this charming villa offers something of a haven to hikers, bikers and families simply looking to enjoy a rustic retreat away from the usual tourist hotspots.

Driving up the winding roads is a breathtaking experience in itself, with increasingly spectacular views on show as you ascend to your mountain refuge. Open up the imposing wooden front door to reveal an open living area with bags of retro appeal. Cool tiled floors lead you towards the star of the show – those jaw-dropping mountain and valley vistas, stretching as far as the eye can see.  

The home's exterior has been designed to make the most of the scenery, with comfortable covered seating areas, outdoor dining options and a selection of seating options dotted around the private pool. So whether you're up early for that first sip of coffee as the sun rises over the sierras, looking to spend your day relaxed and reclined by the inviting pool, or serving up homemade meals on the terrace, the mountains are an ever-present backdrop to your stay.

To adventurous types and thrill seekers, the Sierra Tramuntana are an action-packed playground, with challenging hikes up steep escarpments and bone-shaking mountain bike trails close by. After working up an appetite, the conveniently located La Posada del Marqués is a 16th-century stone mansion that serves up gourmet Mediterranean cuisine enhanced with products grown in their organic garden.

Away from your mountain sanctuary, there are popular hikes departing from Esporles. After an early start, why not continue to the coast for a refreshing dip at Cala Banyulbafar, or return home for a chance to change before heading into the stunning city of Palma, where you can easily while away an afternoon exploring its atmospheric old town before enjoying a top-class meal.


Buenos Aires

Located at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, this Mallorcan home boasts unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside. The garden steals the show here with its private pool, alfresco dining terrace, frog ponds, and water fountains. And inside is well set up for groups with plenty of living space and en-suite bedrooms to enjoy. Location-wise, you’re near the towns of Alaró and Binissalem, with Palma – the island's capital – a twenty-five-minute drive away. While this home isn’t suitable for children under 5, we think it's perfect for families with older kids, or group of friends, wanting a relaxing getaway. 

Tranquil Panoramas

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

Cabinet of Curiosities

Just a five-minute drive from the beach, this villa offers an unforgettable escape. Built in the traditional Mallorcan style, it boasts exposed ceiling beams and terracotta tiled floors, though you’ll have to tear your eyes away from the sea and mountain views to admire them. The villa has plenty of charm inside – particularly in the elegant bedroom suites – but its star appeal is the outside space, which features a heated private swimming pool. There’s also a terrace with an outdoor dining area, and a garden where you can doze in a hammock. What more could you ask for? 

Casa Calm

Anyone in search of the authentic spirit of island living will be captivated by this home. From the rustic stone and traditional features to the natural tones and simple furnishings, it's the kind of space that sits in perfect harmony with its surroundings. And with the main square of Bunyola just a short walk away, you’ll find it easy to settle in and embrace life as a local. 

Enjoy quiet mornings with a coffee on the patio, savour the simple pleasure of cooking with fresh local ingredients in the kitchen and gather for drinks and tapas as the sun sets. However you choose to spend your time here, every moment promises to be enriched by the unique character and charm of this setting. 

From here, days can be spent exploring the majestic beauty of the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountain range, discovering tiny coves dotted along the coast and visiting traditional markets in towns like Soller (which you can also reach by train).
