Now, the leaving might be difficult given how gorgeous this little home is. With doors opening from the bedroom, as well as the lounge, onto the terrace, you’ll feel that constant connection to the outdoors – and given the mild, spring temperature of Torrox all year round, you’ll have every excuse to spend all of your time out there. 

Couples can bond over alfresco breakfasts, curl up on the couch to watch a romantic movie or spend evenings stargazing from the hot tub, whilst those on a solo trip might take advantage of the peace and quiet to catch up on their reading. There are two terraces – our favourite is the rooftop one reached via a spiral staircase, which has plenty of room for entertaining. More outdoor space is available, but it’s shared – you can lounge by the pool or go for a refreshing dip. There’s also a communal gym to maintain your fitness regime while away. Inside the apartment itself, there are more Mediterranean Sea vistas to enjoy, and there’s a lovely outlook from both bedrooms. Out and about, explore the beaches or charming towns of Nerja and Torrox. We’d recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay.

Typically Andalusian with whitewashed stone and red roof tiles, this home in Torrox is pretty as a picture. Although it can’t quite compare to the breathtaking vistas of the rolling hills of Málaga, and the Mediterranean beyond, you can get the best of both views by sitting out on the terrace. Covered, the patio also offers a welcome break from the sun whilst still enjoying the mild heat the region is known for. If you’re up for a swim, duck out through the arch and make a splash into the pool whilst the food is grilling away on the barbecue. 

Rustic and homely inside, you might retreat to one of the bedrooms for a nap after enjoying a Mediterranean feast. Wake up to the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee and enjoy it in the shade of the umbrella out by the patio furniture.

Days away can be spent at any of the two closest beaches – both are only a short drive away – or take a road trip and explore more of Costa del Sol and Málaga. Golfing enthusiasts can also head to the nearest course and anyone wanting to get up close and personal with the native foliage might check out the many hiking trails around the area.

Compact yet well-equipped, you’ll find this apartment tucked between Torrox Costa and Nerja. With sea views from the private balcony and communal swimming pool, there’s ample opportunity to soak up the vistas and work on your tan at the same time, while for days on the coast, you’re spoilt for choice with the beaches of Playa Vilches, Calaceite, and Playazo all within two kilometres. We’d recommend hiring a car to get to the nearby towns, handy, then, that this home also has a private garage – and for those fitness fanatics, there’s an on-site gym too.

If you're looking for a home with widescreen views, they don't get more awe-inspiring than this, folks. Perched above Nerja and just a short drive to the beach, this villa makes the most of those dazzling sea vistas from every angle, inside and out.

Indoors, you'll find three bedrooms as serene as the next, with a main suite boasting  knockout seascape views and direct access to the terrace. But the real star of the show here is that three-tiered infinity pool outside. Built into the dramatic rock landscapes and surrounded by so many terraces we've lost count, you could easily while away the whole day here. Drink up the panoramas from the cool, blue pools. Beat the heat under the shady verandas with cheeky siestas in the sea breeze. Then get together for sunset barbecues in the alfresco dining area, complete with a Caribbean-esque bar for those golden hour cocktails.

When it's time to soak up the local culture, you're in the right place. Get off to a flying start in nearby Nerja (a five-kilometre drive) – the cobbled streets of the old town dotted with shops and tapas bars is a morning well spent. Then hit the waves for the afternoon – the sandy shores of Playa de Vilches (a five-minute drive) are a fine place to start.

The address sure does feel secluded and the nearest village – Cómpeta – is just over two kilometres away, offering a small selection of shops and restaurants. A little further afield, the coastline lies about 20 kilometres away and there's a great selection of beaches from which to pick.

Inside, there’s a kitchen with all the accoutrements for home cooking and an en-suite bedroom with access to the furnished terrace. While this home can sleep four guests, two will be on the sofa bed in the living area, which will compromise any social space. If exploring is on the itinerary, the Balcón de Europa viewpoint and Carabeillo Beach are within easy walking distance of your doorstep.
