A modern, stylish and comfortable home in an enviable position, a little more than ten minutes walk from Les Angles' famous ski area, this place has bags of appeal. Over three floors, with its own ski storage room and views across the countryside all the way to the nearby Lac de Matemale and the mountains beyond, it's family-friendly and roomy enough for a large group.

We love the styling here, with its mix of stone floors, local timber and exposed stone. The living room has comfy sofas and a log burner to keep everyone toasty in the depth of winter, and there are a few decorative touches that may come as a quirky surprise (we love the bear in the living room and the ski mask mirror in the hall). A well-equipped, modern kitchen comes with everything you'll need and there's a dining table seating eight.

Elsewhere, bedrooms and bathrooms are all individual and smartly furnished – our favourite being the main bedroom with its partly open en-suite. And kids will no doubt love the bunk room. Close to the centre of the village, you'll be within walking distance of its shops and restaurants, with all the resort facilities at your fingertips. 

Bear & Peak

Step back in time at this majestic 13th-century chateau. Nestled in the mountains of the Aude region, it feels a world away from everything, with sweeping views across the countryside best enjoyed from the poolside or over a long alfresco lunch. Inside, old-world charm meets home comforts – think stone walls, exposed beams, fireplaces, four-poster beds, and a freestanding bathtub in one of the bedrooms. Surrounded by hiking trails and vineyards, and just 35 kilometres from the storybook medieval town of Carcassonne, it’s a hideaway that lets you experience southern France in style.

Old-World Magic

Only four minutes from the Place du Capitole – housing one of the nation's best opera venues and the Salle des Illustres – this bright home places you in the centre of the Pink City's Saint-Sernin district. While walking by the terracotta architecture of Toulouse, you'll discover plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants on your doorstep. A short stroll away, the antiquities Musée Saint-Raymond exhibits Roman sculptures and local archaeological discoveries.

Perfect for romantic getaways and solo adventures alike, this minimalistic apartment offers a welcome retreat from the bustling streets below. If you're staying here for business, perhaps you'll start each morning sipping coffee and checking your emails at this unfussy workspace. Once you grow peckish, just open up these white shutters and let the natural light pour into your living space before tucking into a plateful of croissants. We think that this intimate dining table is the ideal spot to plan out your itinerary with your loved ones.

A Dream Aloud

Located in the Borderouge neighbourhood just outside Toulouse’s centre, this stylish apartment offers a comfortable base from which to explore the city away from the tourist crowds. 

Inside, tiled floors, an open-plan living area and cool, contemporary decor set an instantly inviting scene. Slide open the glass doors here to step out onto a private balcony – this is the perfect spot to indulge in some fresh coffee and croissants first thing each morning or a glass of French wine in the evenings as the sun sets over the surrounding rooftops. Back inside, the dining table beckons celebratory meals when you’re not out sampling the local restaurants, while the sofa invites relaxed lounging after a busy day of sightseeing. 

With a beautifully dressed bedroom that also has a desk space should you need to catch up on work, you’re all set whether you’re here for business or pleasure. 

When it comes to sightseeing, you’ve got a plethora of bakeries and restaurants, as well as a cinema within 50 metres of your home, while a quick drive or a trip by Metro – the nearest stop is 10 metres away – will take you into Toulouse’s buzzing centre. 


Chez Voltaire

This lovely home can be found in Gruissan, a picturesque town in the south of France. If you’re hoping for white sand beaches and beautiful scenery, this is an excellent choice of location. Best of all, it’s home to this stylish abode. 

This home ticks every box when it comes to fuss-free holiday homes. It’s small but perfectly formed, with a cosy living room that’s the heart of the home. Children will love sleeping on the mezzanine level, where they can have their own space while still being close to the grown-ups. 

The outside space here is sure to win over everyone, though. You’ll have access to the shared swimming pool, which is a dream to dive into on hot, sunny days. You can sunbathe alongside the pool, dipping a toe in every now and then, or choose to soak up the sun on one of two terraces. There’s shade aplenty if you’d rather curl up with a book and a lemonade, too. 

Plage de Matteille is less than a kilometre away, where you can splash in the shallows and build sandcastles. It’s also easy to stroll to the harbour promenade – it’s a lovely way to spend an evening. Hikers will be thrilled to be within reach of the trails up Massif de la Clape, which boasts some spectacular views. There’s something for everyone here. 


Pink & Teal

This homey little apartment is located at the foot of the Andorran mountains, just a couple of minutes from the cable car up to the Grandvalira ski resort. If you're a family with children looking for the best place to enjoy winter sports or stunning alpine scenery in summer, you've found the perfect place. With cosy bunk beds, wooden furniture, and sofas you can sink right into, you'll be able to enjoy tranquillity as you rekindle your connection to the outside world, no matter what time of year you're travelling. Whip up some escudella for dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, or make yourself a morning coffee to drink out on one of the two balconies that overlook the town and the surrounding mountain landscape.

If you're not heading up to the ski resort, you can drive into the centre of Andorra la Vella for some retail therapy or grab a bite at one of the local restaurants. Nature lovers will appreciate heading up to the Quer viewpoint or the Tibetan bridge for breathtaking views. Those looking to practice sporting activities or get in a workout can take advantage of the gym, ice rink and swimming pool in the nearby Ice Palace leisure centre. Whether you're sitting at the desk in the bedroom and getting some work done remote, or lighting the fireplace to heat everyone through after a day of skiing and snowball fights, this home is the perfect place from which to enjoy a break from your day-to-day.

Andorran Fairytale

Nestled away in the mountain village of Les Angles with a superb view of Lake Matemale, this idyllic chalet has a long list of ways to keep you warm and toasty, even at the height of winter.

The most obvious option is to hunker down among the comfy throws in the living room next to the contemporarily styled fireplace – especially as some of the best views are to be had out through the huge window in this space – but guests also benefit from both a private sauna and a hot tub out on the terrace.

There's something ultra-cosy and homely about the design, which embraces all the traditional features you might expect to see in a home such as this – we're talking an abundance of wood, soft lighting and a few antler-themed decorative items. That being said, it's modern where it matters, particularly the sleek black kitchen and bathrooms.

During the warmer months, there's a balcony terrace on which you can sit out and survey the majestic scenery, as well as another on the ground level. The aforementioned lake that you can spot in the distance is only 4km away, ready and waiting for walks and watersports. When snowfall covers the slopes, however, there's a shuttle that takes you up to the slopes a mere 100 metres from the front door.

Warmth & Affection

Yes, this home in the middle of the Tarn countryside dates back to the 19th century and is surrounded by 32 hectares of idyllic meadows, but this isn't the rustic getaway you might assume from first impression. How could it be so when the list of amenities at guests' disposal is so impressive?

Given the rather enviable climate that this corner of South France enjoys, you probably won't be surprised to learn that many of these lie outside. The first one that's likely to grab your attention is the swimming pool, but wander around a bit more and you'll discover everything from a sauna and six-person Jacuzzi to a tennis court and bar in the poolhouse for afterwards.

The home itself still retains an air of grandeur – all high ceilings, parquet floors and chandeliers. There are plenty of large communal spaces in which to gather together, but a fair few more private spots to escape the group for a peaceful moment. Chief among them is the rather elegant freestanding tub in the master bathroom.

One thing you'll quickly appreciate here is just how tranquil the locale is, with even the nearest village sitting 6km away. The surrounding area is peppered with charming towns and scenic hillside walking routes, while Toulouse is only 55km away, too.



Monsieur of the Manor

Stay in the heart of Toulouse, enjoying all the comforts this stylish apartment offers. Situated within a historic building, the place retains its character while at the same time boasting lovely contemporary decor.

Though you’ll have to climb a few flights of stairs here, it’ll prove worth it once you step inside and allow yourself to be embraced by the home’s inviting vibe. We love the open-plan living room, with a large comfy sofa, a dining table and lots of warm light coming in through the window. Kick back and relax here after a long day of exploring the city and enjoy an evening of movies and a delicious supper you’ll be able to rustle up in the modern kitchen area.  

Should you have some work to catch up on during your stay, there’s also a desk space in each of the two bedrooms, alongside those comfy beds, which promise a good night of rest. Wake up restored and welcome a new day with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. 

Outside your home, you’ll find yourself close to all of the city’s landmarks, as well as plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. The Museum of Toulouse is also a short walk away – this would be a great place to start. 

We Are the Stars 

Only a five-minute stroll from the city centre of Toulouse, this modern apartment in the Saint Aubin district is a convenient base for those looking to soak up the city's attractions with ease. And while the shops, historic landmarks, bars and restaurants will keep you busy, the apartment's minimal designs offer a calming space to relax between excursions. With an open-plan concept living room and kitchen area, enjoy sociable moments and fun-filled memories over homemade meals and indulgent aperitifs around the dining table. Some French cheese and wine are an absolute must when visiting this area of France, after all. 

Overlooking the Canal du Midi, the immediate vicinity boasts a local bakery, mini-market, restaurants and shops – so there'll be little need to step foot on public transport for your daily needs. And with the train station only a ten-minute walk away, transferring to other neighbouring and cross-country towns is a breeze. 

Floating Memories

Nestled amongst the Mediterranean woodland, this former 13th-century farmhouse is located between the foothills of the Pyrenees and the Spanish border. The well-designed interiors reflect the Catalan heritage, and the building benefits from ground-floor bedrooms and en-suites. Outside living is where this home shines – whether you want to unwind by the swimming pool, explore the gardens or enjoy a glass of Byrrh, a local aperitif on the terrace. The location suits those eager to explore the woodland, but the beaches aren't too far away either. 

Pyrenees Spirit 

As featured on Channel 4’s ‘Escape to the Chateau: DIY', this 19th-century abode is situated in the French countryside between Toulouse and Carcassonne – an ideal location for exploring these grand cities. Five bikes are provided if you wish to cycle to the nearby 14th-century village, where you’ll find a wealth of history and culture.
