You are well placed to explore all the delights of the Pays d’Auge region – the village of Honfleur is a fifteen-minute drive away, with its picture-perfect harbour and expansive sandy beach. For the daily shop, there’s a small village near the house which is reachable on foot. On Tuesday mornings drive seven minutes to the farmers’ market in Beuzeville, where you can pick up some local produce and enjoy an alfresco lunch back at home.

Fleur De Lis is a holiday fit for even the most discerning guests, starting with a lavish tree-lined driveway that will transport you straight to the seventeenth century. Depending on how you feel, you can take your meals in the regal dining room, which will involve dressing up appropriately, or you can go the informal route, dining alfresco in the gardens. There are simply so many things to do in this home, from admiring the antiques, playing tennis in the courts, watching period dramas in the appropriate setting, or even going down to the nearby sandy beach.
