Or head to nearby Veules-les-Roses, one of France’s most beautiful villages, with waterwheels, thatched cottages, and a pier, where you can try Veulaise oysters, a local delicacy. 

Normandy Château

Couleurs de la Normandie

Set in expansive grounds in the Normandy countryside, this manor house is packed with character. It’s been carefully restored to retain plenty of traditional charm (see the beautiful timber beams) yet also has all the contemporary comforts you need for a happy holiday, including a modern kitchen for prepping your own French feast. Outside, there’s a swimming pool and terrace for soaking up the sunshine, along with two picturesque lakes. You probably won’t want to leave, but when you do head out, you’ll find the pretty villages and unspoilt scenery of Normandy within close reach. Your host even provides a pair of electric bikes to make it easier to explore.

Manor by the Lake

You’ll be saying ‘enchanté’ from the moment you arrive at this majestic chateau, where charm and history go hand in hand. Less than a ten-minute drive from the famous beaches of Normandy, this noble home in the countryside feels like a beautifully kept secret you’ve just stumbled upon. Originally built in the 17th century and featuring more recent additions (including an enormous 100sqm professional stainless-steel kitchen perfect for entertaining), the home’s red bricks, slate roof and multiple turrets make for a visually arresting sight. It’s surrounded by ancient woodland and wonderfully manicured gardens where hundreds of rose bushes and rhododendrons sweetly scent the air. This home includes membership at a tennis club located just over a kilometre away, and the nearest golf course is just two kilometres away. Inside, it’s hard to know where to begin, but the bedrooms on the top two floors are all elegantly decorated in a distinctly French style, while downstairs great room after great room is set up to give you a warm welcome. Evidence of the centuries this home has lived through is everywhere – from the period features to the antique furniture and original artwork. And history lovers will no doubt want to explore its past – which included a stint during the war as a Nazi command centre, only to become a transit camp for the Allied forces after its liberation. But that’s not to say the modern world is lost on it. There are two swimming pools in the garden to enjoy and a movie room with projector screen – all of which help to keep things firmly in the 21st century. 

Chateau National Treasure

Nestled in the countryside of Normandy, this characterful home is a rural retreat with fireside armchairs, exposed wood beams, and a winding staircase. As well as the outdoor dining table, you'll have access to a shared swimming pool in the summer months. However, the sloped ceilings and connected bedrooms in the attic may be a better fit for kids than couples. Make sure you hire a car and plan a drive to Caen, thirty minutes away. Feel like a beach day instead? Take a road trip to the Plage de Cabourg, just twenty minutes by car.

The Maison Blanche

A seaside retreat just a few minutes walk from the famous long, sandy beach and the town centre, this place is tucked away in a quiet, leafy street in pretty Villers-sur-Mer. Built in a traditional style, with blue shutters and a white picket fence, it's a stunning home both inside and out.

With accommodation spread over three floors, there's plenty of space here for a large group or extended family. Perfect for families, there's an enclosed garden with a lawn out back and a cinema room that doubles as a playroom in the loft. And that's far from all. Add in a hot tub in the garden, along with a trampoline, football goals and table tennis, and a games room in the house with both table football and a pool table, and we think you'll be spoilt for entertainment.

The home itself is smart and modern, with a sociable layout, comfy furnishings and a well-kitted-out kitchen. And with five double bedrooms, all of which are of a good size, there's no short straw when it comes to picking rooms.


Rocksalt & Blue

Set on a 17th-century estate spanning over 40 acres of land, this extravagant chateau was restored by a former artistic director of Dior jewellery who creatively combined classic styles in harmony with the home's historic roots with modern design and luxurious amenities. 

It's no wonder that the chateau is listed under the French National Trust – as its majestic ambience, married with its impressive facade, gardens, and interiors, make for a truly magical stay beyond the norm. Across the grounds, you'll find centuries-old trees, expansive grassy lawns, flower gardens and two private swimming pools for guests to use at their disposal. 

Spend leisurely days playing badminton, petanque and croquet, riding the château's bikes or swinging by the tall trees. Sport-loving guests also benefit from tennis membership at a club nearby and an 18-hole golf course – and horse-riding opportunities within short driving distance. 

Get lost inside the castle's drop-dead gorgeous living spaces. This home is sure to impress, from drawing rooms to lounge areas, office space, and a truly one-of-a-kind enormous chef's kitchen. Around every corner lies refined details, antique treasures and an infinity of elegance. 

Situated between the picturesque towns of Dieppe and Fécamp – you'll be just a five-minute drive away from the beaches along the Alabaster coastline in this magnificent part of Normandy. Also within easy reach from the chateau and well worth a visit is one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages', Veules les Roses – a fifteen-minute drive away. Here you'll find an idyllic setting filled with thatched cottages – wander along the delightful river passing by the watermills or relax by the beach promenade where you can sample the famous 'Veulaise' oysters.

Rose Garden Romance

When nothing but an actual French chateau will do Cosmopolitan Castle comes to the rescue. This lavish home has hosted a few famous faces, from Aga Khan and the Dalai Lama, and now you. With fourteen bedrooms that can accommodate up to twenty-eight guests, this is a perfect place to accommodate a large family gathering or a wedding party, but you can also use it as a a luxurious base to explore Normandy. Places to see theatre easily accessible from here include the Landing Beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry and Monet's Garden — but there's so much to see around here that we'd rather just let you get on with it. When you're not out and about, relax on the vast estate that surrounds the chateau. You can walk in the gardens, splash around in the pool, play ping pong, work on your tan, read in the salon, or socialise in one of the living rooms. When you need some intimacy, retreat to your bedrooms, all of whom are big, quiet, furnished with beautiful antiques. 

Cosmopolitan Castle

Originally built around 1660 and extended in the 18th century, this historic house retains elegant touches of period charm. To help you feel at home, these characterful elements are paired with modern comforts like a high-end kitchen, plush bedrooms, and luxurious bathrooms. We love the location too – in the heart of beautiful Bayeux, where you can see the cathedral (and its world-famous tapestry) or sit down to tasty French fare in a local eatery. If you want to explore more of Normandy (including the nearby D-Day beaches), this is a great place to base yourself.

Norman Comfort

Sitting pretty along the Courseulles-sur-Mer marina, it's impossible not to make special memories at this modern apartment. Just a short distance from the soft dunes on Juno Beach and the charming town, you're perfectly placed to explore the area's best sights. 

The interior is bright and airy, thanks to the vast casement windows and smart loggia set-up, extending the living space out and allowing plenty of natural light to illuminate the home. Cook up a storm in the azulejo-tiled kitchen to share around the stylish dining table, while taking in sublime marina views. Wake in the morning to your coffee in another furnished loggia off the bedroom, as you watch the boats bob from side to side. 

When it's time to head out, pack up your seaside essentials and take the short walk down to the beach. There's also fishing markets, shops, and restaurants in the town for those looking to explore. 

Look to Marina

If you’re seeking a scenic spot for a group coastal getaway in Normandy, it’s time to stop scrolling. This charming home is perfect for up to fourteen people, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy some quiet time. We love the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area – just the ticket for gathering together as you rustle up some French cuisine. But the cherry on the cake? It has to be the location. A mere 150-metre stroll takes you to Deauville beach, where sun, sea and sand await.
