This home is ideal for groups of friends, with the house separated into three parts, offering everyone privacy as well as a chance to come together and enjoy communal meals and games. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be seduced by the imposing exterior, set against the lush greenery of the garden. With a glistening pool, sun loungers and plenty of alfresco dining spots, there’s no doubt you’ll pass entire days without ever feeling the need to venture beyond the walls of the garden. 

Come inside and you’ll find yourself embraced by the warm and welcoming ambience, with stone walls, wooden ceiling beams and original fireplaces. There’s a huge country kitchen here, perfect for rustling up delectable French classics, and the guest cottage boats an additional kitchen. The whole party will enjoy nights of restful sleep and sweet dreams in the plush bedrooms, spread across the three buildings – in the mornings, welcome each new day with freshly brewed coffee on the terrace. 

Outside your country gem, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to gorgeous places to discover – from the local village of Gensac to the famous Saint Emilion, and of course, you may want to take a day trip to Bordeaux and Arcachon. 

Poet's Reverie 

Set overlooking the golf course of La Palmyre, this whimsical villa in Les Mathes is bathed in an abundance of natural light and welcomes guests to retreat to its garden of sand and pines. 

While luxury designs and amenities grace the villa from the inside out, you'll feel as though you're staying in the wilderness even when spending time inside the home here. Despite double exposure from east to west, the home isn't at all overlooked, meaning you'll benefit from utmost privacy. With the nearest sandy beach, only a 300 metre walk away – you'll have the choice of staying here in your own private haven or exploring France's western coastline. Why not take adventurous trips out to discover the picturesque locale? Ile de Oleron is reachable in just a fifty-minute drive up north and boasts stunning beaches and seafood opportunities galore. 


Whimsical Wilderness 

Few things sounds more romantic than a cottage situated in the middle of wine country, where the endless vineyards sprawl and birds chirp. Perfect for a long-awaited holiday away from the kids or a getaway for a budding romance, the home is small but its surroundings are vast and baby-blue French shutters are ever-so charming. Escape right out to the private gardens from the pastel bedroom. After days lounging by the pool or drifting in the nearby river, take the bikes to one of two nearby towns to explore gothic churches and to pick up local delicacies like fresh truffles and a bottle (or two) of wine for enjoyment on the stone terrace. Intimacy is the emphasis here, and we can guarantee this home as a perfect start to a French-inspired love story. 

Gardenia

La Belle Vie has been around for well over a hundred years. No fakes, no approximations, just old-style charm and the kind of luxury only the nineteenth-century French nobles could conjure up. Mostly furnished with antiques in various states of refurbishment, this chateau is a walk through the history of comfort — perfect for a large family gathering with older children, or a luxurious base to explore the  the world-famous vineyards of the Aquitaine region. Some off you will start your days with a brisk walk around the estate, and some with a proper morning swim in the private pool. There are plenty of spots to socialise both indoors and outdoors, so reconnecting will be easy even when you're not gathering for one of your fancy meals. And if you're travelling with discerning guests, the host is more than happy to organise a variety of extra services that will turn your stay into a proper five-stay experience. Think private chefs, maid service, babysitting, fridge filling, and more. 

La Belle Vie

It's not every day you find a place with two outdoor spaces in the heart of a city. This gem of a home is putting an end to the idea that being in the city centre automatically means forfeiting space. Here, location, style, comfort, and luxury have beautifully been combined to bring you a showstopper. 

There's a lot to love here, from the contemporary interior to the fantastic location, but the outdoor space takes the cake. There's something wonderful about waking up in the morning and stepping straight outside to feel the sun on your face, and here, you get that small but special treat from each bedroom. Invigorating fresh coffees in the sun are the perfect way to start the day. Whether you're on the rooftop terrace or the patio, you'll feel a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Bordeaux city centre, despite being close to all the action.

Exploring Bordeaux comes easy here. You're just a five-minute walk from the tram, which takes you all across the city. Or, you can take to the wine metropolis on foot – you're just 1.5km away from the historic centre. There, you can take a walk along the famous promenade which is lined by restaurants and bars, discover the city's museums, and spot some notable sights, like the 11th-century Bordeaux Cathedral. 

However you spend your day, you'll love coming home to your bright, welcoming home. Take the spiral stairs up to the rooftop terrace, armed with a bottle of local wine, to watch the sky envelop into hues of reds and oranges at dusk. When dinner rolls around, your kitchen is perfectly equipped for whipping up meals at home. But if you don't feel like cooking, there are several brilliant restaurants nearby, ready to welcome you. 

City Tropicale

A spectacular location in the countryside, not far from the Dordogne, gives this property an enviable vista over rolling fields. Lounge by the pool, which is surrounded by lavender, rosemary and heather, and take in the views, or dine on the shaded terrace. Located within a sixteenth-century converted barn, the house is characterised by stone floors, characterful wooden beams and charming window shutters. Inside, the rustic French design will make you feel right at home, with wooden furniture and plump sofas creating a comfortable yet stylish environment.

Rosemary & Lavender

Experience a comfortable villa tucked away in the peaceful residential district of Andernos-les-Bains. A short journey from Arcachon and Bordeaux, this hidden gem provides a retreat from the familiar, only moments away from the calming waves of sea. Within this private playground, sits a natural garden embracing a swimming pool, offering seasonal solace under the sun. The open living area invites light and laughter, while the soothing tones of the separate lounge provide respite. Each bedroom sings a lullaby of comfort for dreamy nights. Villa of the Sea

Tucked away in the Cote de Bourg area just north of Bordeaux, this fairytale 19th-century chartreuse overlooks beautiful vineyards and the rolling landscape beyond. The seclusion makes this a tranquil getaway – especially when swimming in the private pool or enjoying the ample seating outside – but with this being an active vineyard, it's also a unique way to experience the French countryside. The interior, all rustic rafters and palatial furnishings, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's plenty of space and charm here. It is worth noting that there are only three bathrooms to share between fourteen guests. The country house is bold and full of character, and the pool table is a nice touch too.

Comte de Montagny

Enjoy good times and quality wine with this modern apartment as your comfortable base in Bordeaux. Located in the city's historical centre, the space mixes modernity with old-fashioned charm through a combination of classic and new home furnishings. 

While the food and drink scene in Bordeaux is what makes the city so special, this spot gives you the option of cooking up your own delicious meals in the large kitchen and dining area. And then, after a long day of soaking up the city sights, why not soak in the bathtub with a glass of local wine in hand? Utter bliss.

With views overlooking a golf course, easy access to Lacanau Lake and the beach at Lacanau-Ocean – both just four kilometres away, albeit in opposite directions – there really is something for everyone here. But, if you’re not strolling the fairways or splashing in the sea, it’s easy to relax back at home. With plenty of space to spread out and pine trees framing the villa, privacy is guaranteed. Add to that the private pool, sun-kissed terraces and opportunities for alfresco family meals, and this modern home will surely tick a lot of your holiday boxes. 

Summertime Soul

It may be dated, but this converted barn in the French countryside has rustic charm in spades. The cosy lounge is great for families – with a pool table and a sofa bed for two extra guests, it acts as a games room by day and an additional bedroom come evening. There isn’t wi-fi here, so be prepared to switch off. But, as Charente-Maritime is known for sunshine, you'll have plenty of opportunities to splash in the private heated pool and dine alfresco in the sprawling garden. For adventures further afield, Saintes has cafes and weekly markets (10 kilometres away) or drive thirty minutes to visit sandy beaches and Cognac distilleries.

Rosemary Romance

This 16th-century château in the heart of the Médoc could be straight out of a fairytale. Surrounded by vineyards, trees, and fishponds, it overlooks the Jalle de l’Aygue Longue and is within easy reach of Bordeaux. Inside, the interiors blend old-world charm with modern comforts. Two of the bedrooms also have their own living rooms with daybeds – perfect for families sharing. Outside, you’ve got gardens and a sun terrace that practically demand a glass of local wine in hand.
