We think it's ideal for a romantic getaway – children aren't permitted here, so you can take advantage of the peace and quiet. There's a wood-burning stove, too, for cosy nights when the weather turns chilly and a desk for catching up on work as well. 

This place is ideal for a couple or family with two children. The icing on the cake here is the incredible hospitality from your lovely hosts. They can arrange all sorts of activities for you to do, including walking tours and cookery classes. 

When you're ready to explore the area, take a stroll around the town and admire the wonderful architecture or head to its renowned weekly market, then take a seat at one of its traditional restaurants. Further afield, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pont du Gard, under a twenty-minute drive away, or discover historic Nîmes, around thirty minutes in the car.

If you're looking for a French villa with true character, Here Comes The Sun is a great option. With typical rustic features that include exposed brick and beam contrasting the modern features, this home is a great place to help you relax and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. Wake up with a nice cup of coffee on the balcony, then pick up your local delivery of baked goods that can be brought right to your front door, then set up a little breakfast for the rest. If you're feeling rather adventurous, hike all the way to Pont du Gard or take the car if you want see as much as you can in a single day. When you're back, go for a relaxing swim in the pool and enjoy a nice glass of locally produced wine, then maybe visit the nearby town of Uzès and explore the local restaurants. The wider area is filled with stunning gold courses and plenty of activities, but there's absolutely no rule that says you can't just stay in your superbly cosy holiday residence and curl up with a good book.

Best of all, this townhouse has its own private heated pool for you to swim in. There’s also a roof terrace that’s ideal for sunset cocktails.

This stunning southern French stone home is the epitome of rustic chic. The perfect pied-à-terre for an adventurous couple or family with small children, this traditional two-bedroom house is charming, characterful and bursting with pops of colour. Featuring a lovely, light-filled open-plan living space – think terracotta tiled floors, exposed stone walls and a large wood-burning fireplace – this home wears its heritage proudly on its sleeve. You’ll love taking your morning coffee at the breakfast bar and gathering around the table at meal times before treating yourself to a long hot soak in the bath or lighting the fire and chilling out on the sofa for movie night. 

Your home’s idyllic location in Vogüé, undeniably one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France, means you’re within metres of both the Château, and the Ardèche river. Walk from Saint Cerice Chapel, a Roman church built into the rock and overlooking the village, along a footbath to the Château before heading down to the riverside beach to sunbathe and swim. Alternatively, hire canoes or get on your bike and set off on the Via Ardèche, a straight 25 km cycle path from Vogüé to Grospierres. Whatever you do, don’t forget to indulge in some local food and wine and live life as it were a beautiful dream.

Set amidst the French countryside, this gorgeous retreat offers the French countryside experience with an added touch of Mediterranean charm. You'll be blown away by the quaint, idyllic scenes found both inside and outside of this home. We particularly love the enormous, curved Orangerie style backdoor which paves the way to the magical garden setting featuring a shaded alfresco dining area, day beds and a crystal clear pool – divine for a refreshing dip during the height of summer in the south of France. Back inside, the stunning open-plan kitchen-living area ensures a sociable stay for the whole group to enjoy together. The kitchen in particular will excite guests who are fond of cooking as the large central island makes it perfect for group cooking sessions. Why not book for a private chef to come and give you French cooking lessons? You'll also find that the local area allows guests to experience French culture at its finest. Mornings are for market visits here, so head on down into the local village, just a three-minute walk away where you'll find a lady named Patricia who sells fresh fruit and vegetables every Monday and Wednesday morning in the central square, Place de la Fontaine. Better still, visit on a Saturday as this is the main market day for the villagers to stock up on fresh meat, fish, cheese, truffles, wine and flowers. It's safe to say that such a warm and friendly atmosphere is hard to come by in France, if you're not in a rural village like this one.

Just two kilometres from this Provençal villa is the town depicted in a Van Gogh’s Starry Night. If that’s not enough to sell you on the scenic beauty of the green Avignon landscape surrounding the home, we’re not sure what is. Spacious enough for a family or group of couples and friends, the home is open-plan to adhere to sociable and seamless indoor-outdoor living. Start the day in the orangery with a traditional French breakfast and lounge in the shade under parasols by the pool. Find a place to hide in the secluded gardens, or get out and about for a hike in the nearby natural park for a rare bird sighting. Say au revoir to the day under the stars on the terrace.

Within walking distance of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence's town centre, you'll discover restaurants, museums, and the region's grand market on your doorstep. Idyllic in every sense, the south-facing garden is perfect for sunbathing on the poolside terrace – although our favourite spot is the orangery, with its summer kitchen and light-filled living space. We love that multiple seating areas are spread across the main house, outdoor patio and a separate annexe, which is great for groups seeking to split off in their downtime.

Make the most of an unmissable opportunity to reconnect with nature at this stunning modern home, which offers gorgeous views over the dramatic Gorges du Tarn, one of the deepest in Europe.

Spend long days soaking up the tranquil atmosphere of your idyllic surroundings from poolside sun loungers, tucking into midday meals in the outdoor seating area, and soaking up the sunset from the hot tub with a celebratory glass in hand.

The sense of tranquillity continues inside, with the breathtaking panorama visible through large sliding doors from the comfort of a couple of leather sofas. Elsewhere, a gleaming glass-topped table has space for up to eight, while the fully equipped kitchen contains everything you need for a self-sufficient stay in remote surroundings. 

The home's owners operate a nearby hotel, where you're welcome to paddle in the water off the private river beach, treat yourself to an indulgent massage treatment, and sit down to a mouthwatering meal at the restaurant. They even have an obliging concierge who'll be more than happy to help you plan days out.

Challenging hikes through the Grands Causses Regional Park depart from directly outside the villa, while the river can be explored by canoe or kayak. Thrill-seekers will appreciate the chance to throw themselves down frothing rapids, jump into deep pools and climb sheer cliffs. However, there's plenty for those who prefer to take things a little slower, with cave networks, medieval ruins and magnificent views around every corner. 



Madame Gorge

From mythical caves and spectacular waterfalls to charming villages and medieval castles, the region of Occitanie makes the perfect setting to experience the ultimate joie de vivre. And located in the quiet town of Pougnadoresse, you’ll find this home welcoming you to relax and savour the elements that make this location so special.  

Stepping inside, the light-filled living room opens up onto a wonderful terrace and garden – drawing you outside to bask in the natural beauty of your surroundings. From here, days can be spent lounging the pool, gathering for golden-hour drinks and barbecue meals that linger long into the evening – the welcome addition of a pétanque court also promises to bring a wonderful sense of fun to intimate gatherings. Inside, you'll find more verdant plants, as well as paintings and statues lending an air of elegance to this apartment. If you don't fancy eating out, whip up a tasty cassoulet in the modern, grey-hued kitchen. This place is the perfect retreat for a couple, a solo traveller or even a business professional.

Popular attractions nearby include Montpellier Cathedral of Saint Peter a short stroll away, as well as La Volière, Montpellier's zoo and the Jardin des Plantes de Montpellier, a beautiful historic botanical garden and arboretum. Set on a stunning country estate in the heart of Barbentane, this 18th-century house features an array of charming original features and modern amenities that guarantee a luxurious stay filled with memories. Wander around the hectare of grounds, where you'll find an abundance of fauna and flora amidst the rosemary and thyme gardens. Unwind on the surrounding lawns surrounded by Provençal plants, or better still, take a seat on the terrace shaded by the ancient trees.

The interior of the house has been sensitively restored. Classic features, including wooden beams, an open hearth and ornate tiles are maintained whilst modern finishes complement its original charm. There are plenty of spaces dedicated to relaxation inside the home - a serene living room with plush sofas or a calm master suite opening out to a Juliette balcony. We highly doubt a rainy day here, however, the pianist of the group can soundtrack evenings in front of the crackling fire if a shower does show.

Leisurely afternoons are best spent in the pool or lounging on the south-facing terrace. Come evening time, gather around the Mediterranean-style dining room for a chef-cooked dinner with the region’s best ingredients. End the evening with a few games of boules as the sunset unfolds.
