But there's plenty more to do in Les Gats, which is only an hour away from Geneva Airport — watch the peaceful snowy peaks, hike and take in the fresh mountain air. When you're done with the great outdoors, return to your warm and toasty cottage where you can warm up with a nice cup of hot chocolate in the living room, or take it further and dive into the outdoor jacuzzi. The high-end Scandi furniture helps create a truly inspiring atmosphere where one can't do much else but stare out the window dreamily, especially when it snows. Of course, the designated cook will have a lot of splendid equipment to work with and space to socialise in the open-plan kitchen. When it's all ready, get the tribe together in the dining room and feast with a lovely view of the forest.

Lemon On The Mountain

This beautiful Combloux chalet offers stunning views of Mont Blanc and is close to the ski slopes. The sun-drenched open kitchen is the perfect place to cook up delicious meals, while the spacious balcony is ideal for relaxing in the evening. The six ensuite bedrooms ensure both comfort and privacy, and the fireplace provides a cozy spot to gather after a long day on the slopes.

The views from this chalet will make you smile from the moment of arrival. You’ll also be welcomed by a swimming pool, a sauna and a terrace where you can sit back and savour this majestic location. Inside, the rooms are just as enticing with highlights including the wood-burning fire, a home cinema, a gym and snug bedrooms (all of which come with ensuite bathrooms). Adventure lovers will find perfect contentment in this location with easy access hiking trails and the nearby pistes – just a short drive or bus ride away.

This marvellous Combloux chalet has everything you might need during your stay, including a relaxation area with an indoor pool, sauna, and massage room, a home cinema, and a sun terrace. There’s a fireplace for cosy nights in, a dining space with stunning mountain views, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Your host can provide luxurious extra touches like a private chef and spa treatments – perfect after a day on the slopes of Les Portes du Mont-Blanc.

Mountain Mood

Where do we start with this great chalet? First of all, the views from the balcony are fantastic. There’s a garden with a hammock and a hot tub, too – perfect for relaxing in. Inside, there’s more to keep everyone entertained including a games room and home cinema – there's also a wine cellar. We should mention that one of the twin bedrooms is on the mezzanine floor and has sloping ceilings so it's probably more suited for children. There’s also a sauna to unwind in after a day of skiing. Speaking of which – there’s a ski bus almost on your doorstep, and the piste is just 1 kilometre away. 

Cool Mountain Vibes

Nestled five kilometres from La Giettaz, this home is nestled in its own secluded piece of paradise. The drive to reach the chalet may not be the easiest, and snow tyres and chains, as well as a 4x4 vehicle, are a must, but it’s worth the effort. Surrounded by nature, this is somewhere you can truly switch off – and, step inside, and you’re met with a contemporary yet homely space. When you’re ready to hit the slopes, experienced skiers can ski straight from the chalet via a blue slope – otherwise, it’s a mere 1.5 kilometres to the lifts at Le Plan. 

Mountain Modern

There's no doubt that the scenery is the star of the show at this chalet. From the snow-dusted peaks to the lush green valleys, the views rival any postcard – and they're best enjoyed from the panoramic terrace and private hot tub. Inside, we love the mix of modern and traditional. Drop off your ski gear in the downstairs storage area, then gather around the suspended fireplace to warm up your toes. With a bunk bed ideal for kids and four other comfortable bedrooms, it's a great option for families. Location-wise, La Giettaz and La Clusaz are within easy driving distance, and the ski bus stop is 300 metres away.

Winter Rays

This beautiful chalet – spread over three floors – is perfect for families and groups of friends looking for a luxurious holiday home in the French Alps (there’s even a mezzanine just for kids). The chalet is traditional in style but boasts all the comforts of modern living, including a Jacuzzi and a sauna – what could be better after a day on the slopes? Return to the chalet – via the ski bus that departs just 200 metres away – to curl up beside the floating fireplace and watch the sun set behind the mountains. 

Snowed In

Whether you’re in search of an exhilarating mountain adventure or a restorative escape, this home welcomes you to enjoy it all from its privileged position in Saint-Gervais. Just a short drive from the slopes with easy access to hiking trails, days can be spent trekking or skiing your way across the region. Highlights include relaxing in the sauna or hot tub and spending cosy evenings by the fire. Your host can also arrange extras like a private chef, wine selection or yoga sessions. And with a large dining space, terrace, five bedrooms and a ski storage room – this home makes it easy to embrace the freedom of Alpine living. 

Mountain Waves

As far as Alpine villages go, Les Gats has it all. Located only an hour's drive from Geneva Airport, this village is famous for the high-tech equipment that powers the slopes, and scenic views of the snowy peaks which you'll be able to admire from the comfort of your chalet. Snow Front is a home for those who want more than just a comfortable place to crash for the night. To say it's inspiring doesn't truly do it justice, as this chalet is filled with gorgeous nooks where you can hide away from the world and watch the snowy landscape, or reconnect with your loved ones while warming up by the wood-burning stove. The variety of things to do in the village might keep you outdoors during the day, but warming up in the hot tub after a long day of skiing is an exquisite feeling, comparable only to the morning views from the balcony. The designated cook among you will have tons of fun in the well-equipped kitchen, and when the meal is ready, the whole tribe can dine together in the rustic dining area with more lovely views. 

Snow Front

Right in the heart of France's Three Valleys lies Courchevel, one of the most famous ski resorts in the Alps. Powder fresh pistes, miles and miles of ski runs and one of the longest ski seasons in the area will impress those keen to hit the slopes. You'll find this apartment in the village, just a stone's throw from lifts, gourmet restaurants and eateries. As far as locales go, you can't beat it.

When you're not exploring this idyllic corner of the Alps, make yourself comfortable back at home. Ditch your gear in the on-site ski locker, then relax sore muscles with a session in the shared sauna or a yoga lesson. The balcony is actually our favourite spot – the snow-capped mountain view is incredibly hard to resist. Regardless of the weather, we think it's the ideal backdrop for sunset glasses of French wine and steaming mugs of hot chocolate – sounds postcard-perfect to us.

Inside, the chalet-chic design evokes that warm and homey feeling as soon as you step inside – picture wood-clad walls, faux fur throws and a gleaming contemporary kitchen that's a dream for whipping up family feasts. There are catering options available here, too – whether you fancy pre-made breakfasts, Michelin-starred dinners delivered straight to your door or a private chef, you'll be well looked after by your friendly hosts.
