Step inside, and you'll notice the welcoming ambiance, thanks to the soft furnishings and warm colour scheme. The open-plan layout makes it easy to chat with your fellow guests while you prepare raclette in the kitchen, before serving up your culinary creation at the dining table. There's also a beautiful private balcony, where you can enjoy a glass of wine as you breathe in the fresh air – with awe-inspiring views across Mont Blanc, it's a very special spot. 

From here, you can drive to the slopes of Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc ski resort in around fifteen minutes, for an exhilarating day on the mountain. The town of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains itself has plenty to keep you busy in the warmer months, including a skate park, a swimming pool, and tennis courts, all within a few minutes' walk away from your front door. And, with hiking, paragliding, and hot air ballooning nearby, you can get your adrenaline pumping as you explore the majestic landscapes on foot or by air.

Step out onto the balcony of this smart new apartment and gaze in wonder at the mountain views. Built from local timber and stone, it's a charming mix of the traditional and the modern, with vaulted ceilings, a small mezzanine overlooking the lounge and high-end contemporary styling. We particularly love the black kitchen, kitted out with everything you'll need for cooking at home.

With two en-suite bedrooms, there's plenty of room for a family or a few friends sharing, and there's additional sleeping space on the mezzanine – perfect for older children.

Just a few kilometres from Chamonix and a stroll from the nearest bus stop if you don't fancy the drive, it's well-placed for some of the best ski resorts in the area. You'll have a space in the underground car park and there's a private locker for your equipment.

This apartment is an homage to its Alpine surroundings. Pine-wood walls give off ski chalet vibes and you can admire the towering Alps from the dining table on the private terrace. Knotted wooden cabinets hide everything you need for self-catering in the kitchen area and shuttling food outside is a doddle thanks to glass sliding doors blending terrace with living room. Guests here have access to an underground parking space and ski locker for equipment. The apartment is just 300 metres from the ski school and Prarion cable car to whisk you up to the slopes.

You’ll find this modern yet cosy apartment a minute’s walk from the La Vormaine slopes and a nineteen-minute drive from Chamonix, Europe’s best place for freeride skiing. Spend your days carving down pistes, warming up with decadent hot chocolates in bustling cafes and tucking into hearty French dishes in white-tablecloth restaurants. 

When you’re ready for some downtime, your pad’s inviting living space awaits. We loved the full-height ceilings and soothing neutral colour scheme. Fall back onto the couch and toast your toes in front of the contemporary wood-burning stove before browsing the books and board games and fixing a platter of nibbles in the fully-equipped kitchen. Step out onto your private balcony to watch the sun dip below the serrated peaks and when the stars begin to appear, retreat to your quiet bedrooms for a night of deep, restful sleep. 

Chocolat Chaud

With stunning views across Mont Blanc, this home opens its doors to a dreamy Alpine adventure. You can savour the fresh mountain air from the balcony or get cosy by the fire in the living room. There’s a home theatre for movie nights and all six of the bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms for extra privacy. You’ll also have a boot room for ski storage and there are a range of extra services abatable like chefs and massage treatments to ensure your stay is unforgettable. Plus, it’s just a short drive to the the heart of Combloux and the slopes.

The bedroom is cosy, and even has a glass floor panel overlooking the kitchen diner so you can wave hello to your guests. And, if you head outside, there is a private terrace with views across to Mont Blanc, along with a shared garden where kids can play in the fresh air. 

Le Prarion lift is only a five-minute drive away, so you can don your skis and enjoy a brilliant day shredding some powder on the slopes. When it's time for some après-ski fun, then head into Les Houches or take the eight-minute drive over to the famous resort of Chamonix, with its upmarket restaurants and decadent bars. And, during the warmer months, there is a wealth of activities right on your doorstep – from horse riding and mountain biking to rock climbing and even paragliding, you won't run out of things to do easily.

You'll be thrilled to return to this cosy chalet after a day on the pistes – and not just because the hot tub and sauna are an excellent cure for worn-out legs.
