Drive through the stone archways on your approach, and you’ll be mesmerised by this grand home-away-from-home, which is quite the striking sight before you. Step inside and it doesn’t disappoint – classic features jump out at you from every angle. Original floorboards peek out from underneath stylish rugs, feature fireplaces delight in many of the rooms, with beautiful wainscoting finishing off the overall look. If your idea of an afternoon well-spent is getting lost in a book, the library on the top floor is sure to be your idea of bliss.

As the French sun bathes the home in its warm light, step out onto your terrace and settle down on a sun lounger. Surrounded by nature, the tranquillity of this location won’t be lost on you. To the backdrop of birdsong, you could find yourself dozing underneath the sun’s warming rays. As evening beckons, head to your summer kitchen and fire up the barbecue. This is a modern, cosy 4-room property located in the residential district of Bretteville sur Ay, just 150m away from the beach. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and features modern furnishings. The living/dining room is equipped with satellite TV and has direct access to the terrace. There is a fully equipped open kitchen with a small dining table that leads out to the garden. The upper floor has two bedrooms with sloping ceilings and rooflight, one with a French bed (160 cm) and another with two beds. There is also an open gallery on this floor. The house comes with a washing machine, dryer, children's high chair and baby cot. Guests can enjoy the outdoor space on the terrace which comes equipped with terrace furniture, portable barbecue and deck chairs. One pet/dog is allowed per stay.

The village of Créances is on the edge of the Cotentin and Bessin marshes regional park, a beautiful landscape of wetlands and windswept dunes. You're also just a short drive from Pritania beach. Enjoy a picnic on the sand, then drive into Coutances to admire the Gothic cathedral. Back at your home, light up the barbecue as the sun goes down and enjoy a meal outside.

Fleur De Lis is a holiday fit for even the most discerning guests, starting with a lavish tree-lined driveway that will transport you straight to the seventeenth century. As you travel, you might notice a rather large pool (all yours) where you can practise your backstroke, work on your tan, or walk right past it on your morning stroll across the estate. Depending on how you feel, you can take your meals in the regal dining room, which will involve dressing up appropriately, or you can go the informal route, dining alfresco in the gardens. There are simply so many things to do in this home, from admiring the antiques, playing tennis in the courts, watching period dramas in the appropriate setting, or even going down to the nearby sandy beach. For day trips, we recommend that you head off to see Mont St Michel, which is easily accessible via the motorway, as is the Bayeux Tapestry.

With the grassy beaches of the English Channel less than five minutes away, hold onto your hats when breathing in the fresh sea air.
