Spend an idyllic afternoon on the white sands of Carnac's Grande Plage – we love that this fabulous beach is just a hop and a skip away. If you tire of dipping your toes in the crystal clear waters of the Iroise Sea – unlikely, we know – this town offers a myriad of other attractions to enjoy. It has more megalithic sites than you can shake a stick at – around 3000 standing stones to be exact, giving it the world's greatest concentration. If that's not your thing, head to the Carnac Spa for all sorts of thalassotherapy treatments. Of course, there's also a wide choice of seafood restaurants and boutiques to choose from right on your doorstep. You don't have to go anywhere to enjoy the seascape though. Just take a seat on your south-facing balcony and enjoy the vista opening up to the sea.
